How do you feel about the death penalty?

I am for the death penalty, because it will clear the streets of any garbage that does not allow me to enjoy my life.

Im glad about Death penalty, people who scared about death penalty maybe he/she had a bad business or maybe he/she had a crime before. But sometimes people who are poor or who haven't any amount of money that can buy freedom. Some are innocent being died because he/she haven't money.

In certain third world countries, innocent people are sometimes punished by mistake (or intentionally in order to protect the real culprits). But death penalty by mistake is extremely rare. Because death penalty is only awarded, if the judge is 100% sure about the guilt of the accused. But it is true that certain rich people can escape from death penalty by paying bribes. Examples are Oscar Pistorius and O. J. Simpson.

I think death penalty is reasonable in case the suspect's crime is really punishable by death such as Rape, Murder, Treason, Rebellion and etc. The idea of death penalty is really inhuman, especially if the person who is in the death row is also a victim of false accusation. Yes, I agree with the death penalty as long as it undergoes in a proper and honest trial.

Death penalty from the way I see it is just an easy way out for someone who has committed a grievous crime against the state either by killing someone else or treason. The reason for that is because when he is killed, it would not bring the person he killed back to life neither will he have enough time to blame and judge himself for the wrong doing he committed which is the most important punishment to be given to anybody. So, it should be abolished and replaced with life in prison without an option for parole under any circumstances.

You have a great point there my friend, but you see, it's easy to say such as what you have said in your post when you haven't experienced losing someone with murder. You see, i used to believe the same as you, but when it happened to my best friend, whom i treated as my only brother, it was really devastating on my part. It killed me inside. I couldn't care any less if he suffers a lot or not, i just want to see him sitting on that electric chair shaking. And savor every moment till he dies.

You're looking it at in the wrong way. Why on Earth would you keep someone in prison for the rest of his life if he's living on the tax money from other people, also all of them who get the 50+ years of prison at 20+ years of their life? Are they going to be any productive when they get out at 70years old? No. Death sentence isn't something for retribution or a revenge, it should be something to clear out those who are living lives in prison from the money of other people.

Normally death penalty is handed out only in cases where the judge is 100% sure about the guilt of the accused. Even if there is 0.001% doubt regarding the crime, then a life sentence is given rather than a death penalty. So this argument doesn't hold ground. Also, nowadays advanced forensics has made it possible to avoid innocent people framed for crimes which they didn't commit.

That's true, it would really have an effect on how hoodlums or criminals act. Sometimes they are so free that they just do it because they really want to, not because they need to. That's just how they think of the life of other people and that's not healthy. It's still hard and that's not just easy to stop. I guess it could be a solution but not a permanent fix. There could never be a permanent fix.

Death Penalty is just fine for me, in early times according to the bible sinners are being killed by rock throwing but I do believe that we are human beings and as a human beings it' s our duty to make their death painless as possible, let's not forget that they are still human and all human are sinners so there is no diff. between them and the criminals.

Now the execution is more humane. And earlier people used more severe tortures for murder. Although now many bad people find rapists and mock them to death.

Yes i support death penalty specially on killers, murderers, rapist and do heinous crimes. Government need this kind of law to lower the number of criminals to do this kind of illegal actions.

My argument is very simple. In almost all the nations where the death penalty was recently abolished, we have witnessed a sharp upswing in the crime rate. Therefore, IMO, the death penalty must be there to deter these sort of crimes.

My opinion is very similiar to yours, I also have spotted that in the countries where the death penalty has got out of use, the crime rate has grown.
It is because of one, very simple reason: criminals are not scared to do bad thing to other people.

If there would be a death penalty for killing someone ( excluding car accidents ) no matter what, Im one hundred percent sure that the murder rate would decrease.

Criminals need a vision of really brutal punishment for their crimes, because if the goverment will be kind with them, and the penalty will not be harmful, then the bad people will think that they might do what they want with impunity.

Yes i agree with you guys. I also think that criminals are not afraid of punishments that are given for certain crimes this days. I also think that fear of punishment is big factor in law. But we must not forget that there is also problems with death penalties. From time to time innocent man could be sent to death.
