Also how much would a library cost to have in our city?

Library in these times is generally part of a larger establishment. For example Royal Palace has a private library, as well as Marquess' Palace. Monero info center holds some books. The coming Noble Palace has a library in its plan. The Town Hall (when it is built), is planned to have a public library.

A small building eg 10x10 with high arching and 64 sqm inner area, would cost about 25-35 million to build so as to contain some books also.

Currently no. I will have a meeting any hour now. The web version is mostly spexed, and will incorporate the basics of the databases, the administrative calculations, plus have the following user functionality:

- Character screen. View characters.
- Lot screen. See facade and stats of buildings.
- Main City Screen. Browse the city and see the map. Click into any space for getting to Lot screen.
- Room(Trollbox) Screen.

Shame on everyone for even considering that commoners be allowed in the Noble Palace. The Royal Charter was originally that even the junior nobles would be excluded as well

Weekend special arrangements

I am (seemingly first time since inception) away for a full day, or actually two. This period starts in about 4 hours and I will be back on Monday morning GMT, with a possibility for a short session previous night.

This means that we will reach 1486 early in about 4 hours.
1488 happens only Sunday night or Monday morning.
1490 will be the year for the weekly promotions and the services pool adjustments. These will happen once they are ready, probably about 2-4 PM Monday.
1492 will be reached normal time, only after midnight after Monday GMT, or likely the next morning.

All the admins should get their rights to edit databases now. And then get help from Roopatra before they edit anything, since the risk to mess up badly is very real, the databases are not designed to be handled by multiple people, but also game is so big that one person cannot do all the work

Service pool payouts

To find out how the eateries are doing, we have made the following change: taverns and restaurants now have uniform quality ranking and uniform price ranking.

So like last time, please list the 3 places where you most frequent and why (Obviously the $ places are not even intended for us the players, rather they are for our servants). Tavern owners please tell corrections to the price levels of your eateries.

It is too late to hire more staff for this round. And firing staff is totally prohibited anyway so you should not hire too many 

Also please tell where the city centre now resides (quadrat-level accuracy if possible). This is an important input to tourist income.

One building can now be nominated Most Esteemed, for extra tourist income. Please vote among the following:
- Obelisk
- Cathedral
- Royal Palace
- Town Hall.

(The other Esteemed buildings: Grand Hotel, Noble Palace and Citadel, are deemed too young to have a chance of becoming Most Esteemed yet.)

The city has 2 great hotels: Noble Palace (though it is not a normal hotel but anyway) and Grand Hotel. Which one would you recommend for a privileged visitor?

Midprice options are Monero House Hotel, Smooth's Hotel in G12, Grail and Quail, and Priory House Hotel in d'Armagnac haw. Which of these is your choice for a cheaper stay?

Also Joseph has been mentioning his marquessly bad game finances. In fact the servants could easily be supported with the current income from being a Marquess alone, it is the overdraft interest that is taking its toll yearly, and the remedy is to deposit more money or sell some ingame possessions. (The reason for the bad overdraft is partly that other Nobles have been selling their Noble Palace shares to the Marquess.)

Now we start to consider if the time is ripe for a long bond offering. Some background.

The 50-year bond is 25 real-days, so if it could be renewed (which is likely possible), it matures 14.6 times per year. 1.15^14.6 = 7.69. Therefore the real-annualized return on the Series A bond is 669%. It is possible because the game is in such an early stage that the assets bought with the money can appreciate quickly (Jacket's recent sale of land in N, netted him 689% in 18 days, which is much less than a year, and he invested the profits in more land).

But it does not make much sense to pay back 8 times the amount in one year. In this case it would be better to invest the money in the game yourself. The economic rationale for interest rate is composed of:
- opportunity cost for money;
- risk of not getting back the amount promised.
- (in addition comes the actuarial cost of managing stuff, for this reason the large banks cannot be bothered to corner CryptoEconomy just yet)

XMR's opportunity cost is zero, since it does not have any other venues that offer keeping your money in XMR, still receiving interest on it.

Risk of not getting back is composed of bank failure and game failure, compounded over a year.

- The bank may be too big to fail, although as the Professor of Economics we staunchly deny the willingness to interfere with free markets, as King we care for the townspeople. In any case the bank is not especially prone to fail, because the failure would cause ripple effects in land markets etc.
- The game has many reasons and opportunities to fail, and the probabilities everyone must assess himself. Once the long bond markets work, then the interest rate tells (roughly) what is the probability that the market gives for the game's continued existence over one year.

So much said, the Long bond is a debt instrument whose maturity is 365 real-days. Its face value is 100 million, and the price is quoted as continuously compounded interest rate until maturity, or the market value (these two are the same thing because knowing one, you can calculate the other).

(now the rates are given as daily, instead of "game-APR", since the length of the game-year changes during the maturity of the bond)

May I suggest that you address the King properly? The best way to strive in our city includes respect of some basic politeness. The kingdom reached already a significant development which wouldn't be possible without a subtle but important sense of social order.

While this is surely a good admonition, we must remember that we are talking about a person in the level L2: Stranger.  Non-national non-residents may address Our Majesty with the nick without retaliation, since they are following their own customs and do not know ours.
