I might be misremembering things but didn't the Saudi league offer 150 million euros for Salah even though he was looking past his prime a few months ago? I'm sure 2-3 seasons from now on Liverpool can sell him for more than 50 million with ease, even 100 million doesn't seem far-fetched for the Saudi. On the other hand, I read a rumor that says Liverpool offers a contract worth 80 million euros for Trent for 5 seasons. I don't understand why Liverpool are thinking so much about extending Salah's contract when Salah is still performing well in Premier League and Champions League for Liverpool. Mohamed Salah is now in Liverpool so Liverpool may not be able to properly evaluate Mohamed Salah. If Mohamed Salah ever leaves Liverpool for another club, Liverpool will understand his void well. Hard decisions in times like this is what they need. I have said this a billion times,  the following names should be axed to raise funds for the club. Araujo,  Frankie de Jong, Robert Lewandowski,  Ferran Torres,  and lastly Raphinha to raise funds for the club. They need to make sacrifices ate meant to be made if they must phase  through this stage they're into.

Looking at the rumors, I wouldn't say it's a bad plan but rather it's like regenerating players. It's one way to maintain team performance to sell older players while they're still in good form and have high selling value. And on the one hand Barcelona is also eyeing Nico Williams or Jamal Musiala who are younger and have talent that can be relied on in the long term. Liverpool have now pulled out their trump card, so I think Real Madrid would have to come up with an even crazier offer if they still wanted to sign Alexander Arnold. It would be even more difficult for Real Madrid if Liverpool gave Alexander Arnold a guarantee of captaincy after Van Dijk retired or left Liverpool. I don't think so, that Barcelona will be stupid to sell Raphinha given to his recent performance and involvement in Barcelona success so far in both the La Liga and the Champions League. I hope they won't make a big mistake to sell one of their most influential player in this ongoing season because of financial issues.
