Transfer gossip: Mesut Ozil is set to stay at Arsenal until his contract expires at the end of the season but the 32-year-old German midfielder has interest from several clubs, including Fenerbahce. I'm honestly surprised that Ozil is still playing for Arsenal after everything that happened between him and the club. Jose Mourinho is interested in bringing Real Madrid and Croatia midfielder Luka Modric, back to Tottenham for a second spell. Modric's Real deal runs out in the summer. Is there really a chance that Mourinho and Modric will reunite? Let’s not forget that Mourinho brought Modric to Real. Source: https://www.bbc.com/sport/55357601@Daniel91 why are you surprised about Ozil decision, because he knows that he won’t get that kind of salary anywhere else, and hence if he agrees to play it’ll only be for financial reasons. Furthermore I’m not surprised that Mourinho is moving for Modric, because Modric has shown this season that he can yet perform at the highest level, and it’ll be really interesting to see how he performs in the Premier League if Mourinho can convince him to return to Tottenham. Sources: https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2812000-mesut-ozils-350000-a-week-arsenal-salary-is-not-important-says-unai-emery (Old article but his salary hasn’t changed). https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/13523015/luka-modric-tottenham-return-mourinho-transfer/I'm surprised with that decision because Ozil has already been practically written off and kicked out of the team. As for Modric, he has already decided to end his career at Real.

From all those gossips, Ozan Kabak is the one that makes the most sense but he needs to come before the season ends, preferably during the half of the league transfer window, that way they can use him instead of VVD, I have seen too many times Fabinho playing defense and I understand that he "can" play that position but he is a defensive midfield normally, so I would love to see Ozan Kabak or another Turkish defender at Merih who doesn't get starting position all that frequently at Juventus when he should, or even maybe Caglar who is another Turkish players (wow they have so many).
So, they need one but they need it right away, getting someone after VVD returns would be for nothing. Rest of the news sounds like good old gossip and nothing valid, sure anything could happen but some of them have been heard a million times by now.
I don't think that Liverpool will go for a defender during the winter window. I expected them to when Van Dijk got injured but Fabinho's really been playing well there, Matip is always good when fit and Rhys Williams is proving he's good enough to be getting some minutes. I doubt we can bring a player during the winter that's significantly better than Williams, from what I've seen of Kabak (not much, I admit) he isn't that great. So I'm betting Liverpool will not be panic buying.

There is a lot of news about that, he wants to retire at madrid but he also sees how madrid is going. But so far I don't think Modric will leave, he's still a key player for Real Madrid this season and I think one or two more seasons. Madrid do not yet have a suitable substitute for their midfield. Even though he is old, his strength is still very useful for Madrid. If Madrid let him go this transfer season, it will be an additional problem for Zidane.

Manchester United is looking to loan out their Central defender Phil Jones to either West Bromwich or Derby County also Burnley is monitoring the situation and they could move for him in place of James Tarkowski if he gets sold Funny surprising thing is Phil Jones is still 28 years old. Most footballers reach their peak of their careers at that age and it's been more then a year for him that we ever saw him playing if he doesn't find a team to play with I think he should retire ASAP.

Right now, Phil Jones does not have a place in the current Man Utd squad. His play time is limited. I don't see him getting a spot when the likes of Lindelof and Maguire are around. So the loan option might be a good call for him. Going to smaller teams like West Brom and Burnley (Derby County won't be a good fit as he still need top flight footbal), will give him enough playing which is something he doesn't have at the moment in Man Utd squad. From the stats, Jones hasn't featured in any game so far this season (correct me if I'm wrong).

It doesn't seem to matter that much to him. He's being paid a high amount of money to just sit and watch how Arsenal continues been performing horrendously each passing game week. Who loses out the most? Definitely Arsenal. They are paying him so highly just do nothing. I think deep down in his heart, He laughs at the current situation in Arsenal FC

Arteta is imposing a formation that has left Ozil out from starting XI at Arsenal this season, and he is also reluctant to try to change his strategy and formation and trying to bringing in Ozil. But, is it Ozil who is worthy of being sold by the arsenal, or is it Arteta who made a mistake? Fenerbahce are linked with Ozil now, and his agent say if there several club also ready to bring Ozil.

Dortmund made a big mistake for not allowing Sancho to leave last season despite United’s offer, which exceeded the 110 million euros. The amount of criticism Sancho is currently receiving is never justified, the player in 11 games with Dortmund this season has not scored any goal, and this is actually a very negative rate compared to last year, but it never limits the player's abilities and great talent because originally his team suffers from a results crisis and a change of coach And his lack of commitment to the method of playing is clear. It is a great talent that is not disputed, but its price is greatly exaggerated, 120 million euros in the current crisis in which all the teams are going through will make every team want it to review its accounts and this very large amount is not on its talent as much as it is exaggerated in this period. So it will be a surprise if he is ever to be sold anywhere near 80 million in the summer if he keeps not getting the results needed.
I will never understand all of this, and the fact it comes from socalled fans makes it worse,,, but I have come to accept this is part of football. Now you read even some players leave the game because of racism,,, but this type of abuse is equal in terms of psychological effects. Sancho has still a lot to prove but he does not need to prove he has talent. Very unfortunate for players to come of age in this coronaseason,,, but he just needs to keep improving and showing his mentality. His time will come.

He's a Spurs legend and could bring morale back up in these tough times during the covid era. Sales for Modric jerseys could be good too. And so could Bale shirts sales. I think it's both a business decision and a tactical decision. Daniel Levy is somewhat of a poker player in the sense that he wouldn't approve a move for a player unless it's +EV for the club.

Modrić would be a fantastic piece of business for Tottenham. He would be for any club in the world, but what current Tottenham team lacks the most is a player that can dictate the game from midfield.
They have a lot of good workers there (Hojbjerg, Lo Celso, Sissoko), but neither of them can control the tempo and be a player through which they can avoid opponent's pressing game.
Modrić on the ball with Kane, Son and Lucas/Bergwijn really does sound dangerous. It would be a good deal for Modrić as well so I can actually see it happening.

I'm honestly surprised that Ozil is still playing for Arsenal after everything that happened between him and the club.
I'm surprised with that decision because Ozil has already been practically written off and kicked out of the team.
Apart from what other users commented [his wages], a lot could change if Arteta gets replaced with another manager [they could still recall him when this window opens up].
Clearly, it's Arteta's fault. He should've built the team around Ozil but he froze him with the thought of replacing him with someone else [a creative midfielder that could play in multiple positions] but it didn't go as planned and now, Arsenal has no creativity in their team. - I read a rumor that mentioned Arteta's possible last game in charge might be the game against Chelsea [next week].

What happened to players and their ages in the past 5 years or so? Modric is 35 years old and everyone talks about how great of a transfer that would be for Spurs, Ibrahimovic is 40 years old and there were talks about him being transferred because he is such a good player, Messi is youngest at 33 years old and there were talks about 200 MILLION EURO transfer for him at that age, which is insane to think about and Ronaldo is still Ronaldo at 36 years old.
Back in my day those were ages where players are either veteran presence and not a big deal anymore and teams look to either transfer them away or players just retired at those ages, rarely anyone played until 40 and players at age 35 were seen as not good anymore, nowadays they are hot topic and a great transfer idea. I guess training and nutrition did improved players longevity a lot.

It sounds unbelievable but Liverpool might actually sell Mohamed Salah somewhere else. https://www.foxsports.com.au/football/transfers/epl-transfer-news-2020-liverpool-fc-rumours-gossip-mohamed-salah-barcelona-real-madrid-manchester-united/news-story/dee3a6850747a2c5cbe0c5197df8963e?nk=d70687f77e274c2a344a622b1daa9f66-1608585604SALAH FOR SALE
It seemed impossible until a few days ago but rumblings about an impending Mohamed Salah exit from Liverpool are getting louder and louder.
The Egyptian scored twice during the 7-0 rout of Crystal Palace on the weekend but actually started on the bench on the back of comments suggesting he was open to a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona.
He said he was “disappointed” not to be named stand-in captain recently and opened the door to a transfer, with his former international teammate Mohamed Aboutrika claiming he is now “unhappy” at Anfield.
“I called Salah about his situation at Liverpool and he is upset, but that would never affect his performance on the field,” Aboutrika told beIN Sports.
“I know that Salah is not happy in Liverpool, he told me the reasons why he is not happy but they are secrets and I cannot talk about it in public. One of the reasons that made Salah angry was that he was not the captain against Midtjylland.
“In my opinion, Liverpool are considering selling Salah for economic purposes.”
Speaking last week about how he was disappointed he was overlooked for the captaincy in favour of Trent Alexander-Arnold in the absence of Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Virgil van Dijk, Salah said: “Honestly, I was very disappointed. I was hoping to be the captain, but it’s a coach’s decision. I accept it.”
He added to AS: “I think Madrid and Barcelona are two top clubs.
“Who knows what will happen in the future, but right now I am focused on winning the Premier League and the Champions League with Liverpool again.”
When pressed, Salah added: “That’s a tough question, but right now I can say that everything is in the hands of the club.
“Of course I want to break records here and, I repeat, all the club records, but everything is in the hands of the club.” Maybe he wants to head to Real Madrid or Barcelona and eventually become the captain there? But I don't think this is the reason behind the speculation. Perhaps Liverpool is running out of cash and needs to sell players too?

Speculation has a way of making things real later on. I know Liverpool and Klopp will do all they can to keep Salah but as we saw with the Sterling drama and then Coutinho, they know if the player wants to leave, they will not stop them. I think most of this is just noise,,, Salah is always in the news for politics but he knows he cannot find love outside of Liverpool.

I'd actually be thrilled if we sold Salah. Yep, he's a good player but the team makes him a great scorer - he has no defensive duties and is our first attacking option. I really don't like his character, he's constantly sulking and complaining, he said he was hurt because he wasn't a captain against Midtylland. I mean, come on - he acts like he's 7 years old.
Our front 3 is reaching their 30's and if we needed to sell one of them, I'd always want it to be Salah - I value Mane and Firmino more as both players and teammates.
Salah can be sold for probably close to 100 million Euros, he can be another great piece of business.

I understand very well that the Liverpool fans want to preserve the environment of his team and that it is the first time in Klopp's era that things have come out of the dressing room into the open for his most important players in this way. Liverpool under Klopp's leadership was the group team before it was an individual team. This will make the fans of the team angry at the statements that Salah declared publicly that he is unhappy with the captaincy issue and his hints about Barcelona and Real Madrid. Klopp is one of the smartest coaches able to control it and the coming weeks will show that. But if the issue is serious and more than an outburst of anger and actually goodness wants to leave, then Klopp will not stand in anyone's way and he did it previously. Coutinho was the most important player in Liverpool however Klopp allowed him out and with his money bought Alisson and Van Djik, and built a strong group.

Because almost everyone knows Barcelona is in a situation of financial crisis right now, the result of Barcelona's very bad management when led by Bartomeu. So it is very unlikely that Barcelona will be able to bring in Salah, means that Real Madrid is the only strong candidate to bring in Salah.

I don’t think he will go, both Real & Barca are broke. No fans in stadia means a massive loss in income so I don’t think massive deals like this will happen. Covid is destroying everything, including football.
