Gerrard must have asked for it specially.  Coutinho played successful games in Liverpool.  I think he will be Maestro in Aston Villa.  He has a football mind that can run the game.  They also have very good communication with Gerrard.  He is of great help to Gerrard on the field. I am very interested to see the transfer business Newcastle will do this month. I’m impressed with the first signing and reported price paid. If this is an indication of things to come, I don't see Newcastle being relegated. Trippier is a good player, but maybe maybe he may not have a huge impact on the teams results yet, but a player like Trippier can add several goals a season onto your tally. Trippier is a 31 year old dude who worths under 20 million pounds. In order for this to be impressive, he should be the only player under 20 million pounds that they sign this window, otherwise him alone means nothing at all and definitely will not save them from relegation as well. They need to get players who are much bigger in name and in talent as well in order to save themselves. He is not even as big as Willock who they got at the start of the season (well end of last season could be true as well) and by that time they didn't know they would relegate and they didn't know they would be certainly sold as a club, there were talks for years but the decision was made early into the season.

So, this transfer means absolutely nothing at all by itself, they should have a lot more players that are great in order to actually show some promise.

Actually they would make use of a top striker for the next season. I know that they have Cristiano Ronaldo but he won't be enough for them. Cavani will most probably leave the team and Rashford is better as a winger. As Ronaldo is not playing like in the old days anymore, this could lead to a big scoring problem for the team. And if they want to play bigger than this, they should be looking for a top striker. Maybe they won't be able to sign Haaland as the other teams like Real Madrid, PSG etc. are also in the race. But there are still alternatives of course.
