No matter how good a team is as long as there is no strong defense that team is going to suffer at every game, Chelsea actually have had a bad defensive performance this season, personally I was thinking in the summer when they already confirmed Thiago Silva departure they will look for a new defender and not just any new defender but a very experienced one in that matter but rather they went to Adarabioyo which wasn’t bad but they need more experience and should have gone for yet another one again.

For me they should get two center back right now but the major priority should be an experienced one who has had years in the top league and is actually a leader because watching Chelsea games you can clearly see them lack proper leaders in the squad. I understand what you're saying but players like KDB earn an awful amount of money and oftentimes they are not willing to reduce their salary so what is the club supposed to do? Still paying him 20 mln euro per season for his past contributions? That would make sense with a 3-4 mln contract, which is already a ton of money.

They definitely need to bring new signings to the team especially in their defense and attacking department because clearly that is where they lack quality and it is why they are struggling to even make top 4 this season despite starting the season well. They are very poor defensively and they need an experienced CB to balance it up because every other player are talented young players and it why they are making costly mistakes. I believe if they add experience defenders their conceding rate will be reduced. They don't only need to add defenders they also need to bring in experienced attackers as well as an experienced striker that way they can compete better.

I believe by next season the team will be matured enough to withstand certain pressure and also with the additional players added they will have nothing to worry about. I have faith in this coach and I believe all his team needs is time because they are bunch of young inexperienced players that needs time to develop.

Gardiola could be said to be that manager that Don hesitate releasing off players from his team that have advanced well in age seeming to turn to liability to his squad but in the case of KDB, Kelvin despite the recurring injuries doesn't look like a liability for City as he has always being phenomenal on every return from injury helping the team win important games, which doesn't in anyway makes him look like a liability for his age.

It is better he leaves now than face something worse than not winning any trophy, if the fans start complaining about his contribution, it will become a huge problem for him at the end of season to sign a new contract somewhere else with a significant price tag. Kevin De Bruyne isn't too old to play somewhere in Europe aside the Premier League, some older players still survive toughness of playing in major leagues, if not for injury crisis he is still fit for a few more years.
