- Pimp my straps - give wings to your factory bios
What straps does it use? Mind sharing them?

No problem, I/we can do it the hard way. TPU and anorak have a perfect database of all cards' stock bioses anyway.

Hi guys, i used SRB to modify the original bios of the Rx580 Pulse 8Gb. With other bios i was used to modify Memory and Gpu frequencies and voltages with Overdriventool. I can modify frequencies but not voltages, can someone explain me how to do that?
Thank you!

This SVI2 compilant voltages displayed in the Voltages section, does they apply to Mem controller (VDDCI) or GPU (so VDDC), or both?

@doktor83

Hi, first of all thanks for your great work.

I have an MSI RX 580 8GB gaming X (H5GQ8H24MJR SK Hynix), its hashrate is only 28.2 MH for ETH and 760 H for XMR (SRB Miner). I modded it with UBERMIX 3.1 straps (1500+). Do you think using PIMP MY STRAPS could I get better results?

Ubermix isn't for Hynix memories, try pimping your straps, put for example 1150/2100 you should get aroun 30mhs on eth.

i don't know how good are his, but probably better than the ones i made for SRBPolaris.
Those are mainly for ETH and nothing special Smiley

Yes I know. They come from one click timings (jaschaknack) and even if they are not the best, they are quite stable for this card.
I'm going to try the "pimp straps" and I'll post the results here.

Yes I know. They come from one click timings (jaschaknack) and even if they are not the best, they are quite stable for this card.
I'm going to try the "pimp straps" and I'll post the results here.

Results after a few hours of "pimp my straps" testing.
Note: previous results obtained with "one click timings" are shown in brackets.

ETH - Claymore 11.6
1150/2000/900 -> 28.5 MH/s - (n.a.)
1180/2000/900 -> 28.5 MH/s - (28.2 MH/s)

1150/2100/900 -> 30.1 MH/s, thousands errors/second with artifacts - (n.a. millions errors/second without artifacts)

XMR - SRB MINER 1.4.6
1150/2000/900 -> ~819 H/s - (n.a.)
1180/2000/900 -> 820 H/s - (760 H/s)

1150/2100/900 -> 843 H/s,  ~ 125 errors/hour - (n.a.)

So for ETH I have a very small improvement from 28.2 to 28.5. Unfortunately I can not use the memory at 2100: too many errors and artifacts even lowering it to 2080, 2050.
Instead for XMR although with the memory at 2100 I have some error (I think negligible values) there is some improvement: from 760 H to 843 H.

In the next few days I will test other algos and miners then I will decide whether to stay with "pimp my straps" or switching back to "one click timings".

Hi!
For your MSI RX 580 8GB gaming X try 1190, 1200, 1215 or 1230MHz for core clock.

For Hynix mem try this strap: 777000000000000022339D00CE5153379055111230CB440900208400740114206A8900A00200312 0150F292F94273116 for 1500+MHz.

Alternatevely, you cand send me your bios and I can modify it for you.

All the best,
Sorin

Hi doktor83

I try pimp my strap from SRBPolaris, it really boost performance but not stable. Cryptonight V7 from 850 h/s become 920 h/s. even ethash algorithm also improve a bit.
out of 10 card RX 580 8 GB Hynix(H5GQ8H24MJR) memory, 9 of them is not stable so only 1 card is stable.

any advice how to make it stable?

Thanks.

Lower memory frequency?

I prefer to set higher some value in memory strap rather than lowering the memory clock. because with one click timing from Polaris editor 1.6.7 I can set memory clock 2250 and stable no memory error. So I also expect with SRBPolaris Pimp My Strap I can set the same memory clock.
I even able to make custom from one click timing Polaris Editor 1.6.7 to get higher hash rate with same memory clock 2250 and stable.

PLEASE EXPLAIN "PIMP MY STRAP"--

Over the weekend I have read the entire thread.  I have not modified GPU BIOS much, but I am considering taking my 6 Sapphire Nitro RX 460 cards off of the shelf and building a low-power rig with them (again).  They have been kept in stock condition.  I'd like to unlock the shaders and mod the straps.

Stepwise, how should I approach this?  I have not used any Polaris BIOS editor yet,  if I click "Pimp My Straps", what happens internally with the editor?  Is a stored database searched for a match?

Not trolling, just really curious.  I am going to set up a dual-boot Win 7/Lubuntu 16.04 box for modding and mining with the six cards.  I want to mod the cards in Win 7, then reboot to linux and mine.  Ideally, I'd like to mine with either OS.  Will the ATIKMDAG patcher work with the latest AMD Adrenaline drivers on the Win 7 OS?

Hope that I am not asking too many questions.  Thank you for any response.       --scryptr
