13. Spread Some Rumors.. The community, the devs, the supporters everyone can take part in this... (e.g.Vlad2Vlad's statement - "I am Buying"), (AMAZON will soon accept BTX )
(Germany will make BTX their national crypto )

What the hell ! That's extremely unethical and a strategy only used by worst of the shitcoins. In he end if it is really a good coin then nobody can stop it from rising and if it's not then it is bound to fail no matter how much you market it.

Also you don't need to partner with Lamborghini to get a pink lambo (asking them to release a limited edition will be extremely hard). A better strategy would be to get used lambo and custom paint it with those colours and just take a pic. It will circulate all over the internet. They can use it as promo vehicle too.
you know, what tarek posted was just like satire or a joke.
you shouldn't take it too serious.

and with my own logic i would agree with your second (or actually 3rd) sentence, but unfortunately that's not how crypto works (at least not in the past and until now).
the common adoption and the price development unfortuantely doesn't follow this logic.
coins with a very good profile and great technical structure crash in price whilst the shitcoins with bad technical structure and a scammy profile go to the moon.
i don't get why but that's the way crypto is going.
who knows what will happen in the future though, but that's just pure speculation.
so don't apply your common logic to the crypto market.

Why does the price drop so much?

Because bitcoin is in a bear market, if you look at BTX satoshi price from a historical perspective this is essentially rock bottom and an ideal entry point for BTX

Price of BTX keeps on plummeting regardless of the ending of the airdrop a couple of weeks back. However, looking at their twitter, facebook, instagram and other means of social channel just proves that the community itself is still active. I can understand that bitcoin didn't become massive overnight and it would indeed take some time for Bitcore to rise in price. Never the less, I am still holding this coin. Don't want to sell any of it not even some. Thank you for this free airdrop dev! Cheesy

$BTX is not the only one suffering, basically all $ALTS are in the red. Don't let them shake you out. #HODL.  Smiley

Well at first I predicted 5 dollars and then said intrinsic value was 3.60 or so... I think I made that call in early March but I assumed that the intrinsic value would be the absolute bottom. That being said, It wasn't really FUD. I used math and some assumptions about how bad the market will be this year. I think this year is definitely similar to 2014 but only time will tell if that remains to be the case. Some of the issues are internal and some are completely out of the team's control and thus external. BTX team can't really do anything about the price of BTC in which BTX is tethered too. The best thing for fixing this will be the BTXM's when they are operational and spreading.

After a long time you have said something really informative and I must acknowledge this is one of the nice post in this forum.. Well explained in only few sentences... 🤗But regrading price I hope it well set between $23-28

I have noticed that Bitcore price has stabilized in a quite fixed range, I guess we are in an accumulation phase, and at some point it will take off.

One of the BIG reason of the recent price fall :

FPGAs are being used for TimeTravel10 algo. Bitcore is being mined and dumped wholesale. Devs need to do something about this urgently. Prices will recover if devs modify their algo.

If price will set between $23-28 this will be good for us.
How think when will happen it?
I bought BTX for $20-25.. and hold coins now.

Why does the price drop so much?

Sheer price manipulation, I think. Bitcoin is barometer to the price and it dropped significantly today just after NY Consensus 2018 opposite to all expectations. Looks like some 3rd division exchanges play unfair game.

Can you please be more specific about this? What kind of FPGA are used to mine? About what % of the total hashing power we are talking about here?

Yeah, they write these:

Ran through timetravel10 today, looks like with 8 fpgas (one dedicated to each algo) you might be able to get up into 1-10Gh/s. Bitcore definitely needs to do something. A small fpga cluster could 51% them pretty easily.
You've made some interesting optimizations.
***
My naïve reading is:

a) they have 11 algorithms coded
b) only first 10 are used
c) the whole hash is a nesting of always 10 sub-hashes
d) chosen without repetition
e) which gives 10! possibilities
f) the choice of permutation is keyed from the block height
g) not sequentially, but skipping up to 8! permutations

So my naïve implementation (one card dedicated to each sub-hash) would require 10 FPGA cards.

What is your secret ingredient?
Edit: Link to the source code: https://github.com/LIMXTEC/BitCore/blob/master/src/crypto/hashblock.h
***
I was looking at timetravel not timetravel-10. My bad. Hashrate would be the same, but yes, 10 cards would be required.
***
Timetravel10 fits in a single VU13P.  You partition the FPGA into 16 blocks, and store about 14 partial bitstreams for each block.  Then you do a dynamic partial reconfiguration from DDR4 to build the pipeline at the start of each block based on the current algorithm sequence.  Yielding one hash per clock (i.e. 500MH/s @ 500MHz).  You need 16 blocks because some functions like Groestl and Echo require 2 blocks.  The FPGA can reconfigure itself in 0.25 seconds.  The problem with Timetravel and X16R/X16S is the long time it takes to load the DDR4 bitstream table via USB.  And you lose it if there is a power outage and must reprogram the DDR4 on each FPGA.  This where utilizing the PCI bus would be an advantage.
***
Yep this is the big reason chain hashing doesn’t stop FPGAs - partial reconfiguration, the overhead of which can be nearly entirely latency hidden.
(...)
***
I had to watch a really boring "entertainment" program and used that time to edit the above file into a working C++ program. Echo was never used. Due to the peculiar permutation order Blake and Bmw are always fixed at position 0 and 1 respectively, only the remaining 8 positions change. So using the terminology from the whitefire990's post above timetravel10 requires only 9 reconfigurable blocks assuming that only Groestl requires a double block.
***
This is very interesting.  I did some math and there is a very decent chance Bitcore would fit in a VU9P (while for sure it fits in a more expensive VU13P).

I think Scrypt algo should be hardcoded as for every 2nd block and for 3rd block some Proof-of-stake algo like PeerCoin does.
And generally include more PoW algos into Timetravel before we get a 51% attack.

so per blocks: random PoW -> Scrypt -> PoS with same block reward but randomly selected miner by coin age and total coin/spent coin ratio.
