Had an issue tonight where I was NOT returned either my initial sale price or my profits after my potato was sold. If support could contact me right away, that would be appreciated.
As of now, I'm out over 100 LTC.

you should add even more potatoes so that you could increase your revenue further by saturating the market so that its less likely the potatoes are bought so that more money goes to the house.

A captcha would be a great idea. Impossible to get a POTATO with all these bots... Kind of unfair :'
Once again, we heavily stress the fact that there is a much higher likelihood of you missing your buy because when the potatoes reset there are 50-100 users all mashing the buy button. Even though it is of course possible (and likely) that some users have set up bots, legitimate users have just as much of a chance of landing the buy than a bot just from clicking the potato. A captcha would make it harder to lock down the potato, yes, but if a user is determined enough there are captcha cracking services/bots and more importantly it detracts from the simplicity of the site. It's kind of like software DRM. You're making the legitimate users suffer for a solution that will be bypassed in instants by anyone who actually wants to. If it ever does become a serious issue, rest assured it will be addressed. We appreciate your understanding, The Bit Potato Staff The bot will win with a much higher likelihood. That is a fact. You could simply set it up on some micro EC2 instances with the lowest ping to the site while fetching the site as quickly as possible. I imagine others could be even more sophisticated. A bank doesnt decide to use a safe at a location because there exist some small percentage of people who can get into the safe anyhow. The point is to stop and slow down most people with some bad intent.

The beautiful thing about this, as in pyramid schemes & MLM plays, is that it's self-promoting: a person has every incentive in the world to sell it to other people, and even then, to tell themselves they'll be able to sell it next week if only they buy in more this week.

It's cute, I love it. It's definitely a Ponzi Scheme, but who cares. Label it as gambling, and if you make some money of it, great. If you lose money, well you knew the risks. Any chance of an app? This would be a really fun programming experiment - I'd love to try coding it in something like node.js for the fun of it.

Someone testing is currently testing their bot (locked all 8 potatoes in less than one second 7 of which didnt have any action in the last 6+ hours) At least one of the bots is programmed to grab all the potatoes when at least one of the potatoes is cheap because the programmer presumably wanted to make the bot go live as quickly as possible. The bot/programmer then only sends payment for only the intended potato and lets the other potatoes time out. This is why all the potatoes get locked when one of the potatoes is below 100LTC despite some of the locked potatoes not seeing action in hours and obviously the locked potatoes not actually leading to payments. Its obvious to see the bots are winning at low LTC potatoes either that or somehow making your name be all caps or just special characters (likely the top 2 or 1 programmed bots) makes you very very likely to be able to buy a cheap potato If you want to observe the bots wait until one of the top 5 potatoes is under 100LTC and see ALL the potatoes go to waiting for payment in under a second and see only one target potato get bought.

Hi Bit Potato staff,
I bought the radioactive potato yesterday at 10 LTC with a desktop wallet as you recommended after previous bugs (even set fee at 0.05 LTC for fast transactions). But some one else still got the potato instead of me, so the bug for double payments is still active.
Transaction details:
Status: 403 confirmations Date: 2, 5, 13 21:21 To: Bit Potato Radioactive LcxPitkHjEWPjJMy5cQJMLaTgAoi1zzMAv Debit: -10.00 LTC Transaction fee: -0.05 LTC Net amount: -10.05 LTC Transaction ID: 9c10c045e0df85c8752168d34e52ebc0e32c9caac3a23b363f38387b6819ff1e
I've send support an email 24 hours ago but didn't receive a reaction yet.
I want my 10 LTC transaction refunded please at LbbWMvcXFEL9RdWcxH7ro8UrrQPi6pPGtj
Kind regards,
AP Bobas

A bit buggy but it is legit, at the moment there are many bots at work so you dont get the actually buy cheap potatoes Its more like battle bots until the site owner adds captchas and other simple human test to at least slow it down. I have the impression he doesnt care as long as he gets his cut (I wouldnt be surprised if he added more potatoes without warning anyone to increase profit). He might as well raise the baseline price of the potatoes to 100LTC which is where the bots seem to sleep. Luckily someone could make a copy site and only take a smaller percent of a cut on the dead potatoes which right now is really high (the highest profit potato gives 50% to the site owner and 100% to the potato seller) .eBay/paypal eat your heart out.
