I understand why you and the other poster felt that split bids were a pain in the butt.   But, hopefully from this example above, you see why someone who wants more than one unit, might want to have multiple bids at different price levels.  Near the end, in the frantic stage, it is sometimes impossible to know the exact price you have to bid to for your bid to be effective.   The smaller the units, the easier it is to up it 1/2 or 1 BTC to get back on the board.

Yes, you can have bids at different price levels. Just state them in a single post, thanks. (as per auction rules where your new bids will invalidate old bids)

The rule should be when you update you list all your bids in that post, then every time someone bids it automatically removes all prior bids. Do you reckon that rule would be simple and effective?
