I made it very clear I wanted to pay immediately, and was not provided that option.

I see that now, but the point is that information needs to be provided immediately.

Why?  I don't get that, which seems now to be the crux of your argument.  What difference does it make if the payment address is provided within 8 minutes or 8 hours?  In fact, the opposite makes more sense.  If you backed out because the auctioneer wanted payment immediately and didn't have BTC to cover, it would make sense.

I'm still sticking with my original accusation: you wanted to turn a quick buck.  When things went south on your auction, you rescinded.  Easy as that.  You had no intention to actually purchase and use the equipment.  In fact, you offered to sell the "shipping" for 179BTC (77BTC profit) exactly one hour and twenty minutes after the AM auction ended.

Quote
I'll await a pm and will pay them tonight, however I'll sell the shipping for 179BTC if anyone wants them.  All the same to me.

Your auction starts two hours, twenty-seven minutes after the AM auction ends.  When it was clear that you weren't going to get "paid" for the two blades, you write :

Quote
You just may get your wish Caesium.

Referring to Caesium getting your two units by backing out - less than seven hours after the AM auction ended.

So your argument that "couldn't pay immediately" doesn't hold water.  You started looking for an out one hour and twenty five minutes after the AM auction ended.

It's scum bag behavior.  You run a gambling website.  If I was outbid by your hijinks, I'd not only pursue the scammer tag, but also make sure everyone knows that WinVery.com is run by a scum bag and not to be trusted.

It's actually my entire argument, and it was presented to the auctioneer and accepted
with an admission of mismanagement and an apology for the inconvenience
of not having the payment information at hand. That's it.

I think it would be benefical if we don't pursue this matter further. It's just pointless noise.

Can anyone please confirm the dimensions of the block erupters?

It's not pointless to try to stop the abuse in these subforums. It's happening a lot lately.

why not run next auction in little bit more professional way. let say use some auction script, when everybody will see bids in real time as well as counts. In present situation people staring posting their bids in last minutes because nobody can scroll trough 5 pages in one minute and get a picture of what is going on.

I'm lost and sad about it, same as many others. I really hope something can be done for next rounds.
I absolutely agree. I lost since the list was not updated regularly. I had no idea how much to offer.

Just offer whatever price you want next time, then back out because you didn't get the payment address within five minutes.

Don't worry about him. Friedcat did his part for the auction, wait for John and the other admins to take action. His future bids won't be taken as seriously.

if someone can't pay within 24 hours just have a look who is next beyond the cutoff and sell it them if they are still interested.

Here's the problem with that.   I see the lowest set of bids going for 50.  I bid for X number of units at say, 60.  This pushes some of the low bidders out, forcing them to either quit or place a new higher bid.  Now the auction is over, I win with my 60 but quit without paying.  Those X number of units are now awarded to the bidder that was at the bottom of the winners list at the low bid price.

All kinds of shenanigans when you play that game.

This is why bids are binding - you don't honor your bid (or you don't honor the winner of an auction) - you get immediately a scammer tag and you are blacklisted for future auctions. That's the only way to keep this serious. And this is why you cannot edit posts in these subforums.
    I absolutely agree. Thank you!

I made it very clear I wanted to pay immediately, and was not provided that option.
That is why I both had my bid rescinded and will not be blacklisted.
That part needs to be clear.
Secondly, I made one(1) bid, and it was the last bid.
I drove nothing up.
Thirdly, as I have demonstrated in this thread, I had the money ready to pay.

You did not honor a binding bid - full stop.
I was not provided the means to do so, and still have not been.  Bottom line.
Are you joking? Payment instruction are and were in the OP. The address to which you have to pay is the following: 1GfYjwX4uGQYDbqRtHYWMxCrMaVVWqK9DZ

You can check it by yourself here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Al1fvFT7Sd5bdFhLaW9Lb05GT252UERSbkhJdm8yeHc#gid=0
I see that now, but the point is that information needs to be provided immediately.
If you cannot even bother to read the rules of the auction before you place a bid, then why would anyone trust you to follow the rules of the gambling games you run?

I read the rules, specifically 24h (payment and info collection).
My understanding of that is stated clearly.
I expected to be able to pay within any point of the 24 hours.
I do not understand. Why not pay right now? Twenty-four hour has not yet expired.

Having an auction script working will require everyone to bid in strict methods - the poor auction bot was hosed for example when someone bidded ' 10@30, please cancel the bid at 4@20' and actually wanting to bid 10@30 PLUS an old bid at 6@25 . Also, when the bids started coming in around 5 second per bid, I don't think that the bot can scrape the site fast enough to update the list.

It is 48 hours for the info and payment collection, for the record.

I find it pointless arguing when he has shown that he does not want to pay - I guess friedcat had that in mind too especially that a public argument with him will only incur a bad image for his company. I'm sorry that other bidders was affected though - I'll try to ask friedcat to prevent this kind of problems in the future auctions.

Next time I'll try bidding at Sotheby's for fun and ask for my bid to be cancelled when the payment isn't requested after a few seconds.  Tongue

Waiting for friedcat to get back to me with approval to send another 100BTC, and whether it should be to a new address or my existing one.

As of yet the two units that fell through to me aren't paid for, I just don't want this fuss to delay shipment of my first two units.

I think you misunderstood something. Its not you who makes the rules, the auctioner makes the rules. And he isnt forced to give you the address in the minute you demand this.
By the way... what reason can justify that you cant/wont pay some hours later than you wanted? I dont see what this could be.

Please ALWAYS contact me through bitcointalk pm before sending someone coins.

Payment Addresses

They also serve as a transparent receipt:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Al1fvFT7Sd5bdFhLaW9Lb05GT252UERSbkhJdm8yeHc&usp=sharing

If you could not access google doc. Please contact me.

I was actually waiting for a PM about payment instructions. I just discovered the payment option by going through the thread again. No big deal, but I would've hated to have lost this due to me not knowing where or when to pay.

But still eternally grateful for the Blade of course Smiley

Which would've of course been my own fault, but a reminder in the same PM about the question for contact details would be nice help for me.

Why does WinVery.com still not have an untrustworthy or scammer tag?  Huh
In offline world he would be dead by now... Yes.
