We will have ready PCBs to drop the chips in. We can make 20 / 40 / 80 chip devices (let's decide later exactly which ones) and we can make 16 / 32 chip devices based on the Klondike project.
-I'm thinking on making a website for all this (Chips / PCBs / fully functioning devices). What do you think? Do we need it or not?
Before I'm make an order  have a question:

1 - The PCB are 20 chip stacked up to 80, or different layout 20/40/80 ?
2 - PCB cost contain all parts with cooling solution ?
3 - Can we buy empty PCB for DIY and/or bare bones assembled PCBs without ASIC ?

The idea make website are great. If You need help, I think many of us can support you.

Hi,
1. Hopefully different layout: 20 chips / 80 chips per PCB as well as 16 chips if we decide to go with the Klondike.
2. Yes, the target is to have a fully functioning device, ready for mining, all necessary parts included.
3. Yes, i will also make it possible for you to buy bare bone PCBs without the ASIC chips mounted.

Hey t13hydra,

I'm very interested on some chips and one ore two boards...

How many chips are left now before the 10.000 are complete?
How long did you expect will it take before we get the chips after the order is done?

Thank you very much, I will have some more questions... but for now it's all.

P.S. If you need help for the website you mentioned earlier, I can give some help because I'm working as webdeveloper at daytime. Maybe some webspace or a domain could maybe helpful?

Best regards

Hi Ronny,
1. About 8000 chips left, look at the cuurent orders section up in the initial thread.
2. The factory's lead time will be 10 weeks after we make the order.

About the site, i've had a discussion with a friend of mine. However, we may need help with integrating some advanced features. I'll remember you and will let you know if we need help.Thank you!

Hi madxista,
I see the payment, but the address is not the one provided by you. I hope you didn't send the payment from some exchange or something.

Steve

It looks like BitcoinQt generated Change address and sent 1.58 btc from new address (1G2SZHGZargxjrmiDA6Zhritj86FrUbnqa).

Great! I see you already listed my order with this address. I can sign messages with new address so there should be no problem.

i3lome first I just want to make sure you know we are talking about mining Bitcoin not Litecoin (hopefully you meant 23MH/s, unless you are mining on an embedded platform/SoC like a Raspberry Pi).  I personally don't think it would be a good idea to order any less than 16 chips, and at 0.079 these would be crazy inexpensive.  If you would like some help or to team up for a buy, I'm in the Washington D.C. area.  I would like to personally buy 42 chips (it's a compulsion brought on by Douglas Adams/"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" but I've found whenever I order products in quantities of 42 it always worked out well for me) or as close to that number as possible.  Would you like to team up and submit an order for 60 chips?  I would eat the cost of shipping since most of the weight would come from my chips and shipping via USPS within the states would only be a few dollars so that's no big deal.

I'm not trying to force more chips on you than you could use (although 16 would allow for use in an existing design) but I thought I would help a fellow statesman as well as the group buy in general (I know 60 isn't going to rock the boat, but I will talk to some  local Hackerspaces and Peter [the CEO] from iStrategyLabs).  Both organizations do group buys worth several thousand USD when they come across something technologically useful, but I don't know what the interest will be so that is just an example, not a promise.  Regardless of what happens with them i3lhome, my offer still stands to do a combo order with just the two of us.

Thanks for the Clarification, you  are right Im mining litecoin a ~23kh/s I  Cpu mine Btc ~2m/hs. I would love to get in on a order but right now my funding options may only allow 1-2 chips. Im broke as shit after rent, wife and kids so I mine as hobby since my hash rate is tiny, Im just trying to gradually advance with using my LTC earnings and multiplying them on BTC-E. I have a huge task in front of me before ever making a dollar.

Electric is included on my rent so the cost for that is not a problem.

I used Btc-E to turn 0.02ltc in 4.3 as of yesterday, It took a month to do that, and I plan on mining and trading until I can afford a Gpu or possible a few low cost chips.

Everyone tells me Im wasting my time, I can see that but Im not going to stop Im determined to make something work. If it takes me 6 months to be able to get faster equipment, I will keep trading and mining. Also have received a .02 Btc as a donation which has helped me, I know  0.02 btc is small potatoes for most but it takes me a month or 2 to mine that. I am forever grateful to those that given me any amount of donations. I keep track of them, and Plan repay whatever donation double or triple fold when I get to that point.

Im just  a tiny fish in the Ocean of crypto, Im willing to do whatever I have to Play with The Big Boys

So 10 - BTC0.79 or BTC1.58 for 20. Does that include shipping to the US.

Also when will you quit taking orders and suspected ship date. Asking so I can get my numbers right and step my hustle up.

I'm trying to finish this group-buy by the end of the month, 31st of May. Thus, the estimated arrival of the chips would be the beginning (first week) of August. The PCBs should take 2 weeks tops to be assempled, so my guesstimate is the middle of August to have ready devices.
The price does not include shipping to the U.S.! Each person will be charged for he's own shipping fee, being geographically situated in diffent parts of the World. You will be given the option to ship via DHL, FedEx, Postal Forwarding, TNT, etc.etc.

Regards,
Steve

Updates!!!
2013-05-15:
- Quotation received! We have decided to make the Klondike design. The official Avalon has way too many parts and the fabrication of it can go wrong in many ways. However! We're still researching for manufacurers, i haven't given up on the 80/160/240/320 chip designs yet! The Klondike design will cost approximately 75 90 (edit: better safe than sorry) Eur / board (remember, price is not final yet!). I will have a non-functioning prototype next week just to be able to touch it and see the cost of all the parts when populating the empty PCB. Will make a video too! After that, we can offer bulk orders or discounts for larger quantities. It it also possible to include everything in a nice (or not, we'll see) box! That will definitely help with the airflow through the heatsinks, but that is a bit far away for now.
- Our website is under development. A beta will be done by the end of this week. One major problem with it is: i have NO IDEA how to name it Smiley suggestions?
- I'm in a discussion about offering hosting for the devices. You live in the U.S./Canada? No problem, you can have a RaspberryPi mining away from Romania for you. Full SSH access and maybe even remote desktop via Ubuntu can make everything easier. The electricity here is dirt-cheap compared to western europe / the states. Will have updates on this too later.

"The Klondike design will cost approximately 75 Eur" - that means 75 euro for 32 chips PCB? What about 80 chips design?

Moving on is a simple thing,
what it leaves behind is hard...
