IMHO... if you are an "all in" kinda of person the RX560 is a good deal at $119.99 USD or less.
Meaning... if you want to mine long term go for it. If you want to ROI in 60-days be wary.
Frankly... and this may be the bourbon talking... I am treating this as a hobby which should lose money but just so happens not to at the moment. Building and tweaking these machines is a blast. I'll have about 60 machines running by the end of July.

Do they have a pcie power plug? If not, keep in mind it's drawing all that current though the motherboard

Definitely -- they are all on PCI-E power plugs.

Actually you are just using powered USB risers and the problem is solved.

What are your Settings? I've got the Gigabyte 4GB but haven't been able to get more than 11 Mh/s, even with overclocking.

RX 560 and 550s are pretty much sold out in my region as well. The price performance ratio is good for now but the only thing to consider is the bigger DAG files in the future, aka it's not future proof. But I rmb someone estimating that DAG won't go pass 4GB before 2018 Sept, so you have enough time to ROI.

I just buy 4x Gigabyte Rx 560 4gb. They are not bad at all. With bios mod 13.7-14mh/s per card with 75w. Stock they are 12-12.3mh/s. The only problem is that they need more space. I think can reduce the power consuption up to 40-45w, but I will try this later. If Asrock start seling there new mobo with 13 slots this alternative can make more hashrate then 6xrx580, but new nvidia cards are on the front door and after some days it seams pointless to buy this cards, just because 14mh/s is the max and you need more slots. IF the new Gp106-100 can take up to 30mh/s will be the best gpu ever for mining.

What's bios mod?
Did you strap 1625 timings into 1750?

Put the Gp106-100 GPU out of mind... it was reported from a website that has been known to be unreliable. Other rumors said it would only be sold in bulk to large miners anyway. Either way, we live in the now and the reality is, RX 560's are a pretty good value along with GTX 1060. The density is low with RX560 but provided you can get enough of them setup for cheap, it shouldn't be a bad option.

What are you even talking about? Polaris chips are with GCN 4th generation, the DAG size is not a problem with the new cards.

Guys,
since it's ABSOLUTELY impossible to find any 570/580 at a decent price right now (i.e. less than 300USD), does it make sense to go for the following setup
3*RX560 for $144 which are available RIGHT NOW and 3*RX570 for $235 which MAY be available early July.
I just can't wait forever until the 570s are available, I'm just wondering if those 15 or 30 days of mining with the 560s will make up for their price which is slightly higher than what it should be (it should be half the price of the 570, i.e. around $120).
Also, is there a model which has been proven more efficient than another one ? I can chose between a powercolor 4GB or a Gigabyte Gaming 4GB

the rx560 is not the exact same hardware as the vanilla 460. It has the full polaris 11 chip (1024 cores). How much it increases the hashrate, I dont know.
460s can also be unlocked to get the full 1024 cores. havent tried with my visiontek 460 yet but ill give it a shot soon, as well as strap it. gets 12 mhs in eth at the moment, be nice to pull 14s with it.

4GB 560's can be had for $120-125 recently on Newegg, I would wait and see if they come back as they were in stock for a solid day. You might even find them on ebay, with 10% ebay bucks a $120-125 560 4GB would be a great deal. Paying almost $150 for 12-13 mh/s doesn't seem all that great and is along the same vein as paying $300 for a 570.

I modded the bios successfully and increased the mining speed to ~14.xxx mh/s with the following settings:
bios mod:
1750 timings -> 1875, 2000 max memory clock 2000 -> 2200
amd radeon settings:
gpu clock -> 1125 (underclock) memory clock -> 2000 fan -> 100%
ASIC is 65% and 75% so they run 60° and 53°. Memory is Micron 4GB. Could push the memory clock further now but I'm satisfied and let them work for 48h.
I think they could do 15.xxx mh/s but with much more power draw and heat dissipation.
And disable crossfire in amd tool, enabled by default!
How did you modded successfully? I have the same card i am doing the same mod 1750 timings -> 1875, 2000 then install the 17.5.2 driver but cant install the driver and get an error 43. Does anyone know where I made the mistake?
