I bought 4 -NEW- Sapphire RX 460 unboxed from a sealed box... Sad

Strange then, that someone modified them at factory...still good rate, 3 out of 4
460s transformed into 560s is OK in my book

But why did you say 560s in your original post?

Yes, I said Sapphire RX 560.
I paid for 16 CU Sad

But in previous post you said

"I bought 4 -NEW- Sapphire RX 460 unboxed from a sealed box... Sad  "

Whatever...460s have 14 CUs and 560s have 16 CUs...draw your conclusions form that fact

EDIT:
there are 2 types of RX 560 card from sapphire:
11267-00 --> 90W edition
11267-01 --> 45W edition

Maybe the SAD edition (the 11267-01) has only 14 compute units...

No, 45W version is the one without external PCI-E connector, so
its restricted to draw max 75W (from board) while 90W one can use
max 150W (75W from motherboard and 75W from PCI-E 6-pin connector)

Radeon RX 560       Radeon RX 460

Shaders     1024    vs    896
Compute Units    16    vs    14
TMUs        64    vs    56

So I can suppose that is a RX 460 inside a RX 560 case... is this a fraud from Sapphire? The label ON the board says SKU# 11267-01 also

!!!

If I'd be you, I'd surely be pissed about it, as AMD clearly states what is considered RX560:

http://www.amd.com/en/products/graphics/radeon-rx-560

so there should be no cards like yours

it s maybe restricted to 75w but it use more
i have 5x rx460 4G msi with no pci-e power  and with dual mining the ring use 560w (no cpu load) with stock setting
so you can say each gpu use 100w

i just try to undervolt but cannot do much  it crash very fast with gpu at 1210mhz
i also change the traps to 1375 but cannot overclock the memory, i tested lot of traps, try to increase the memory more than 1750 it crash  Huh
but even with memory at 1750 with 1375 trap it s 1.2 mh faster on eth @ 12.5 mh

i would be very surprised if a 460 with no pcie connector used more than 75 watts, even dual mining. 100 watts is WAY over the pcie spec.

60 watts for the just PC? seems kinda low unless you are using a "T" series intel proc, single ram stick and a m2 drive (and nothing else, including no fans).

my pc at idle uses 80-90 watts at the wall. g1840 proc, 2x4 gb ram, 390, 2x470, 460, 1070. 256 gb m2 ssd, 5 fans. evga 850 g2 gold psu pulling 750 at the wall mining only eth (dual mining pushed it to over 900 watts at the wall) (still need to tweak some stuff, hope to lower it a bit). all this on measured on a killowatt meter. 120 volts power.

I always modify 2000 strap only , because thats what I'm shooting at...that way if it fails, AMD drivers always go back to original 1750
strap safely ...Gigabyte doesn't have 2 sets of straps, but for cards that do, You have to change just one that is relevant for memory on card

Hi,

What is the memory type on this bios is hynix or micron?

You're right, but I've noticed something strange with my other rig running on Sapphire rx560. When I'm replacing the bios with the ones downloaded from here, it gives different information about the bios (I'm using atiflash with CMD, where full BIOS info is visible). When I replace the original BIOS with such made by me (basically extracted the default bios ,made some mods and flash it back), the information about new and old bios is the very same, so you're right, there's difference among the same vendors, but for me, it worked. My modded bios is crappy, nothing happens when tweeking with AfterBurn and with the ones from here I got good hashing rate. Have to note that the uploaded bioses by privet are with already clocked memory and core.

Back to the MSI topic.

Here's the original ROM: http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=91214473661273445192

Here's my modded ROM, which is doing about 12 (dual mining):  http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=00070263020219795327

If there's some who could mod the original, I would be very happy or share its modded bios for MSI. I see @cchouse did a good job, but he's no longer active Smiley

doesn't matter if idle computer use 60 or some more even if it s 100w so it still 92w per pci slot the gpu use

a 460 with no pcie power connector (IE only draws from the slot) that draws over 90 watts is so far out of spec for the card its crazy. card is rated for 75 watts max as its made to plug into a 16x slot thats only rated for 75 watts per pcie spec.

what does gpuz say its drawing? it will only show the gpu chip power usage not ram and other circuitry on the card but im curious as to what it says.

did you mod the bios power settings?

gpu-z shows 63W  and i under volt a bit (power limit +20, otherwise it clock down a lot)  it s with shader unlock
59w without unlock shader

it s not the only gpu what draws more than 75w on pci slot

i have some 270msi  i burn the 12V on the power riser from 2gpu's and i did not notice i restart computer after freeze then it burn my motherboard  last year when it was doing eth

i also notice rx470 use more power on the pci slot too when doing dual mining

i have a 6gpu ring with 2 psu , when doing dual mining at full speed, the psu what feed the motherboard & power riser shutdown
strange because it should be using the same as mining something else  and use more power on the 6 pin

i just check my rx 560 with power connector  gpu-z shows 72W it s even worse but it s clocked some higher

i think i have some bad 460's  2 of 5 i could unlock the shaders, but i m not able to use custom traps  they all crash even with ram at 1750  Huh

i just checked the power riser of the 460's they really hot, i just down clock a bit , don't wanna burn them, and need to try under volt some more

ouch have a burned riser i down clock and under volt yesterday  but look like really bad idea to dual mine on that gpu without additional power or at lease keeping power limit to 0

i see on the spec MSI RADEON RX 460 4GB OC  85W  so  85w-90 should not be a problem , i hope they test it before they sold it without extra power

i solder an extra 12v wire on my power riser , it s always on the same place on the pcb where it burns , so circuit on pcb is to small on that place

Hello folks,
Dual mining: Expanse + DCR . RX560 4GB Micron. As you see there, Time of work is more than 2 weeks without reboot.  It works very stable!

If anyone interested, I can offer bios for Sapphire RX560 4GB OC - now @ 14,7mh/s
zero incorrect shares for me.

Honestly, there is no 100% BIOS for anyone as each card is quite different (I have 2 and with one, I just cannot reach more than 14,4mh/s with 0 incorrect shares).
