Being free of cost, Chipmixer is undoubtedly the best mixer I have seen till date.
There could be multiple reasons why chipmixer must be the best one. The wonderful feature I am really enjoying with chipmixer must be, quick mixing. It is possible as total mixing process just requires only one confirmation as output is already having confirmations.

Does Chipmixer have some sort of plan for if there was to be a network split?

E.g. only support one coin, or the other, or both?

If one can deposit on one chain and claim a private key after the mixing process that had funds in it before the network split, wouldn't it mean that that person gets thereotically a lot more than what he began with? So what's your stance on this?

I guess there's most mixers only requires 1 confirmation so it doesn't differ from the others, the one that not common used is the chip, with the private keys was given to you with funds on it instead of sending bitcoin directly. And that's the thing that got the attention of those commonly using mixer for better anonymity.

For a mixer, I don't think it really matters as much as it does with an exchange or a wallet. Since they don't actually hold any of your coins except for the chips (of which you get the private keys), you could use the coins you mix pre-split in either blockchain. All you need is the private key and you get access to both of them. For those post-split, it would depend on which blockchain the market decides to use. I expect some downtime for things to settle down so they can decide on the blockchain. In the very unlikely event that the split creates two highly used chains, we would probably see functionality for both unless ChipMixer takes sides with either one, but that's not something I know the answer to.

The signature campaign posters adding useless redundant fluff to their posts to reach their minimum word count are lowering my IQ.

I think it does. Chipmixer would be at a very big loss if they still continued using old private keys(generated pre-fork), and only required users to deposit coins on both chains. Either they have to ask for 2 coins for the priv key or just wiping out the balance of old private keys altogether and transferring them to a newly generated one.

Anyways it's no guarantee that such a think would even happen, i think that chipmixer has its own plans. It'll probably not affect users as much as exchanges as you said but it will affect chipmixer. So it's nothing to worry about, if anything goes wrong i'm sure Chipmixer support is always here to help.

It'd be nice to get a public statement of whats to happen IF a chain split occurs, though.

I dont think the issue of what type of coin will be accepted in the case of a split should not be a subject of discussion for chipmixer when I dont see any deviation from what the community will be adopting. The exchange sites will take a position and that will be the binding position in my opinion where the other will be taken as an alt and when that happens, Chipmixer can then tweak its software to adopt the accepted one but doing that now is jumping the gun in my opinion.

They already gave us one statement regarding the situation:

Aug 1 / BIP148 is coming in 15 days. ChipMixer will closed a day before Aug 1 till situation get stable.

What does it mean for you?

If you have withdrawn chips (private keys) - you can spend them any time you want, even when ChipMixer is closed. If hardfork happen, your funds will be spendable on both forks.
If you have unspent voucher(s) - redeem them for private key before or wait till we reopen. Same if you need to mix some coins.

In case of doubt, redeem and sweep before Aug 1.

Does ChipMixer support BIP148/BIP149/Segwit/Segwitx2/others?

No. We focus on privacy and Segwit does not give us anything related to privacy. Hardfork means lack of stability and loss of Bitcoin value.

This can be a valid concern in the face of the possibility of a split...but I think the chance for a split is already getting dimmer. There would be technical changes on Bitcoin come August 1 and even beyond but split is not anymore on the table. Unless, of course, there can be a big disruption like a coup d'etat by a group of miners not happy with the recent developments (though it is doubtful if they would rock the very boat they are on top of).

Now there are many services that provide trade, but mining is one effective way with the clarity of profit that can not be doubted again, I am sure Chip Mixer is one place for us to invest in a long period of time both actively and passively.

Ignore him. It's probably just a spammer.

He just posted his application on ChipMixer Signature Campaign and I bet that only posted this nonsense to follow the Rule 3 of the campaign.

Reported. It's obvious that he's posting nonsensical posts that nobody can understand just to gain his precious extra ANN post.

Anyways there is no reason to be worry as a customer of chipmixer honestly because a) you have already withdrawn your chip and got the private key in return which you can use at any time, sweep, and use on both chains if hadrd fork happens or b) you have a voucher code/bitcoin in your wallet in which case you can use the service after it reopens.

So doesn't really matter either way, you're in control. That's the beauty of Chipmixer using private keys.

Hi guys, I would just like to start a new topic here, I am posting it here since it is heavily related to chip mixer and the services that they provide to us.

Chipmixer is one of the most popular and secure mixing services out there, especially with the function to donate/bet your chips, which mean you will come out with a different amount, covering up your tracks even further. Now, there is no doubt that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are the most popular currencies to use when trading on the dark net. Now how would chip mixer and other services that help anonymize you be affected by the police, if they start making an attempt on taking the dark net down?

People discuss!

Sorry for the newbie question, but how do other mixers handle it? Do you just get an off-chain balance, akin to an exchange, before being able to withdraw your coins again?

Yes. All you're doing is sending funds, they credit your account, you withdraw and they send using other funds. Just like any other site. It's not a direct 1:1 thing or it wouldn't be mixing.

I really like it you don't have to submit any I.D or register in their site,
The transaction is really anonymous and I think that is what the bitcoin user really adore or want about it.
To make every transaction hidden and I think chipmixer is doing it for us.

Not really the main reason on why ChipMixer is the best.

Why would a mixer require ID verification? The only reason people use mixers are to make their coins more anonymous, and this only would make everything less anonymous and facilitate the tracking of users.

Imagine sending your Bitcoins who are already somewhat anonymous by nature, and having their identity attached to those coins. Reverse mixing lol

Even better is those that also only run in RAM, such that there's no way to track users (unless someone rooted the servers and pulled data in real-time). Even if the servers are taken hostage, the data would all be wiped. Not sure that it'd work in this case due to its nature of allowing coin storage, though.

Reading through the service post, it seems to mix away taint through newly generated address location.
In order to do that deposits are sent to a master which then sends the output back to you from a new address, using some other coins.
Simple but efficient, probably on pause for Segwit2X maybe chip input will change but otherwise neat stuff.

Believing in Bitcoins and it's ability to change the world

Well I guess authorities could try and take over the site, then register everything we do with it.

That's what they've done with one of the dark web silk road clones they just shut down.

However, most people are probably using mixing services while not doing anything illegal, or at worse hiding some funds from the taxman, not something the police would be interested in.
