The .co website is something not related with a Bitcoin mixer Huh

@ChipMixer
What about changing the title tag of the website

"Official ChipMixer - Bitcoin tumbler" instead the current one "ChipMixer - Bitcoin tumbler"
As well the title of the topic here

The ads are showing only with "Chipmixer" keyword and not for " Bitcoin tumbler" or "Bitcoin mixer"
Just a suggestion...

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Nice idea but I think the scam sites would just add it to the search keywords for their advert. Sorry to shoot you down without coming up with a better idea, but Google removing the ads is the only real solution. Using AdBlock is the best way to protect yourself as Google doesn't seem to care.

As TheQuin said, the fake websites could just add "Official" to their websites as well and Google would not mind as long as they kept paying for the sponsored spot. They have shown that they do not care enough to remove the clone websites. I do agree with you in that "Bitcoin Mixer" is a better title than "Bitcoin Tumbler", as the former is what most people looking for a mixer know the service as.

Furthermore, the problem isn't so much that people like us that frequent the Bitcoin forums and other sources of crypto news will be losing our bitcoins to fake website clones. The real problem is that people who are not aware of threads such as this one and do not follow crypto news will be the ones thinking that those fake clone websites are the real thing, which will end up with them getting scammed and worsening their view on both ChipMixer and the cryptocurrency scene because they do not know any better. There has to be appeal to the average person.

The signature campaign posters adding useless redundant fluff to their posts to reach their minimum word count are lowering my IQ.

so deepwebtalk, deepdotweb... can't we force them to take down the articles?
or are they the one who responsible created the scam clone websites? and intentionally created fake news articles
I made a comment on the DeepDotWeb's article page and they changed the link to the correct .onion url.

AFAIK they are a "famous" news website in the DNM world, so maybe they (somehow) fucked up and thought the fake version was the original?

deepwebtalk has almost empty forum with four fake mixer addresses and each mixer account is a moderator with one post.

scam
could he be one of the victims too? thinking he was on the official ChipMixer site  Lips sealed
No. AFAIR he received a valid (funded) private key and could not import it into Electrum.

The best chance you have at knowing you are at the real website is the security certificate (and make sure you connect through HTTPS)
That is not true. Anyone can get SSL certificate for their domain.

You cannot even trust Google on this
Some companies (Google) will advertise known scams. Some people (theymos) will not advertise possible scam (ICOs) even if it costs them (around 9 BTC per week). This is a reason why ChipMixer buy ads at this forum and not on Google.

I made a comment on the DeepDotWeb's article page and they changed the link to the correct .onion url.

AFAIK they are a "famous" news website in the DNM world, so maybe they (somehow) fucked up and thought the fake version was the original?
Thank you. This shows that even privacy pros are vunerable for scams.

Why not just add a notice bar at the top of the page (for clearnet users) that lets visitors know that ChipMixer is only available via the .com domain? This seems to be the popular method amongst other crypto service websites like binance and kucoin. You could utilize the same method for the darknet onion site.

Example:

Example:

That could possibly be confusing if a person were to access both the clearnet and the onion sites, as they would pretty much contradict themselves and be ambiguous. This could technically be solved by including both of the domains in both of the sites, but that isn't the only problem. Even if ChipMixer were to add this bar to the official sites, the clone websites would simply not add it and anyone who has never visited one of the official sites before would not know any better. It might help a little, but the problem is still there nevertheless.

ChipMixer doesn't have 24h support (yet), so it should be soon.

Is it possible you missed a part while copying? Does it have the same length as the others, or is it shorter?

both keys (the working one and the invalid one) are the same legth! 52 Chars. No Copy and Paste error...

Tried using electrum 3.0.5 and 2.9.3 under linux and windows... if "ChipMixer" would allow 'newbies' to send PMs i could give more exact details

That would not be ChipMixer making the rules, but these forums which are owned by theymos.

You can ask for an exception, but this does not seem a good enough reason to get it. Even if you could send PMs, it probably would be no faster than the actual official support through the official website. They have proven to have quite good support even though it might not be 24/7. I would not be worried in your position, albeit that is a very strange problem to have for sure.

That is actually a user configurable option although the default is off. Under your profile page Personal Message Options https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=xxxxxx;sa=pmprefs
There is a checkbox for 'Allow newbies to send you PMs.'

My account allows Newbies to PM me, but Newbies can only send 2 PMs per day (this was limited because of massive spam on the forum).
But please, don't PM your private keys to me or anyone else, keep those details between you and ChipMixer's support only.

Mining fees are very low now. Withdrawal of 1 and 2 mBTC chips has been reenabled.

It is a good time to merge small inputs.
