What is happening with this coin? Seems very cheap and undervalued at this time. Anything new coming up? Could be a good coin to invest in.

A few months ago there was a bug and a large number of coins were easily mined. I think some people have dumped these coins, that’s why the price is so low. But it wont stay like that for long.

There is a new version of the wallet being worked on, which will be released within weeks.

talking is just talking... they can make any story you like.

So far this coin looks like a typical "pay miners" kind of altcoin. There is bunch of people with access to servers etc., free cpu hash power, so be aware that for them CRDS is just "free money" tool - think you want to give them money away.

The coin had the same problems as Dynamic, difficulty collapsed and blocks were mined very quickly. You can check for yourself here and on the past conversations on Slack.

The idea behind CPU-only is greater decentralization; its easier to find spare CPU power than GPU power, and more difficult to have a very high CPU hash power, compared to a GPU hash power.

CRDS is a great community project and still very undervalued in my opinion. I've a bunch of masternodes, they work really well.

Yesterday I found 6 blocks, today nothing. 've been mining sincs 10:00 Cet.
Am I just unlucky (lucky yesterday) or is something wrong?

Maybe the difficulty did go up and now it's harder to mine CRDS. Or it is really just some luck involved.

wondering why it gets stuck and what the heck.. only 8 MN's are enabled now (out of 186), bunch is expired (mine included), and the vast majority is in "new start required" state..

so... tried to restart (when got to "expired" state). Error.
Checked MN status on MN itself. "Can't connect to server".
Restarted VPS. Restarted Daemon. Synced blockchain. Starting MN.
"Not capable Masternode: Masternode not in Masternode list"

Next step is?...
(nvm, got answer on Discord, hopefully it will fix itself. Still MNs are in need of restart, all daemons are stopped on my MN's)

Just use the official guide at the site. It's great, I set up my node with no problems

https://crds.co/documents/masternode-setup.pdf

Keep in mind though that right now, the credits network has problems and all masternodes keep shutting down unexpectedly, as do mining wallets

Maybe it would be usefull info or maybe not but not all crashed. One of mine keeped up minning, so it looks like this can be avoided somehow?

Hi!

I just wrote a systemd unit for my linux mining machines that automatically restart the cli wallet daemon 30 seconds after crash.
It also auto start the cli wallet after reboot if the service is enabled.

I am using Arch Linux so this one is placed in /etc/systemd/system/credits.service
Code:
[Unit]
Description=Credits wallet daemon

[Service]
Type=simple
ExecStart=/usr/local/bin/creditsd -conf=/home/username/.credits/credits.conf
User=username
Restart=always
RestartSec=30

[Install]
WantedBy=default.target

Replace username with the name of your user.

And here is my credits.conf for mining with 3 threads (my CPU have 4 cores but I leave one core for other tasks)
Code:
#Do not use special characters with username/password
rpcuser=your_rpcusername
rpcpassword=your_rpcpassword
rpcport=31050
port=31000
gen=1
genproclimit=3

Enable the service
Code:
sudo systemctl enable credits.service

Run the service
Code:
sudo systemctl start credits.service

Check status
Code:
[ronny@filserver ~]$ credits-cli getinfo
{
  "version": 1010000,
  "protocolversion": 70001,
  "walletversion": 60000,
  "balance": 621.00021480,
  "privatesend_balance": 0.00000000,
  "blocks": 284951,
  "timeoffset": 0,
  "connections": 16,
  "proxy": "",
  "difficulty": 0.04698341188396778,
  "testnet": false,
  "keypoololdest": 1510903654,
  "keypoolsize": 1999,
  "paytxfee": 0.00000000,
  "relayfee": 0.00010000,
  "errors": ""
}
So there is 621 CRDS in this wallet at block 284951.

Check mining status
Code:
[ronny@filserver ~]$ credits-cli getmininginfo
{
  "blocks": 284951,
  "currentblocksize": 1157,
  "currentblocktx": 1,
  "difficulty": 0.04698341188396778,
  "errors": "",
  "genproclimit": 3,
  "networkhashps": 780895.126301053,
  "pooledtx": 1,
  "testnet": false,
  "chain": "main",
  "generate": true,
  "hashespersec": 10948
}
So it is mining with 10.9 kH/s and total network hashrate is 780.9 kH/s.

Edit: Fixed wrong filename on unit file to credits.service

From a user on discord:

btw. works also perfectly with the QT-Version.
I don't have an Bitcointalk account, so if someone want to add this to @ronnylov post. Feel free.

[Unit]
Description=Credits wallet QT

[Service]
Environment="DISPLAY=:0"
ExecStart=/usr/local/bin/credits-qt
User=USERNAME
Restart=always
RestartSec=30

[Install]
WantedBy=graphical.target

We've had an issue with wallets crashing over the past few days and it seems that the error handling in the code wasn't working as expected, hence the crash. We have 2 devs working with me on a fix now. They have compiled an update and we're in the process of testing their changes now. If the updated code resolved the issue we'll be releasing a new version shortly.

It's great to hear that the team are hard at work finding a fix I'm sure it will be solved in no time
