there s a lot of chance for them to use it as it is a anonymous payment system if they use it it will help them in lots of way. not them if any body wants to hide his identity will use it for sure. so i think they use it

It is quite near possible for me because in my opinion criminals like ISIS had a lot of connections that brings them to become more powerful. But I don't think it is the ISIS itself who uses bitcoin but a higher rank ISIS that called himself different from ISIS and not part of the so called group. So therefore there is a fund distributor on their needs, equipments and etc. provided by the so called non ISIS leader but provider to achieve their desire. That we all knew is also possible, to facilitate their transcations.

maybe isis uses bitcoin because we don't know what they do but i think with bitcoin, they don't have to worried their identity to be reveal to public. with bitcoin, they can free to send and receive money in bitcoin amount and then they can withdraw into money to fund their activity. bitcoin can cover illegal and legal activity for every people but its depend on every people what they want with bitcoin.

That wouldn't be impossible. It won't exposed their identity afterall so they can transact without getting any attention.

ISIS and any other bloody horrible terrorist organisations are definitely use bitcoin for their transactions because their bloody money cannot be traced with this way. As a result of this, they can easily wire money to their terrorists and this terrorists attacks innocent people with the help of this bloody money.

Even if the ISIS is using BTC, it is in very small quantities. First of all, Bitcoin is not 100% anonymous, like physical cash. And secondly, there is no established market for Bitcoins in the countries where the ISIS is active, such as Yemen, Afghanistan, Syria and Iraq.

Hmmm. I think Isis can really use bitcoin to buy illegal weapons because of the anonimity of bitcoin.

Wouldn't matter if they did sometimes, because I'm sure they are mostly using cash.

Spectrecoin'slatest update is confirmed running in TOR Bocked regions Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, UAE, China.

I think everyone who's anyone should use Bitcoin.

Lets not forget:

'a terrorist in the West may be a hero in the East.

but

a terrorist in the East may be a hero in the West'

either way

1 XSPEC in the East = 1 XSPEC the West

Worried about my trust rating? I am too. Bitcointalk users ‘Lauda’ and ‘gmaxwell’ have abused their superior powers in trust system to align their views with the ‘correct views.’ In no legal system in any jurisdiction do we have a definition for what Bitcoin is, they do not have the power to tell us what it is based on the rule of law.

The technology allows malicious groups to do transactions, just look at the ransomware attacks. Therefore there is a high likelihood in my opinion.  It's a shame that Bitcoin and blockchain technology, while it mostly only has upsides, has received negative publicity due to their actions.

Hard cash and bullion. When they invaded Mosul, they looted more than $300 million worth of US Dollar banknotes from the local branch of the central bank, on top of several tons of gold. They have received their ransom payments in US Dollar and other fiat currencies. And most of their revenues from crude oil / antique smuggling have also been in fiat cash.

I don’t think ISIS uses Bitcoin. You know, they were collecting weapons, training their people, planning for their next attack, imagine how busy they are to join this forum. At some point, maybe they’re using Bitcoin to hide their identity, even if they are not using bitcoin ISIS are not easy to identify.

Exactly. It suits them really. And i'm sure that with btc's emergence, isis would already be pouncing on the opportunity to use bitcoin and it's features. Makes it a lot easier for them to make faceless transactions

Yes I do think ISIS also uses bitcoins since bitcoin are hard to detect and trace when transacting and using it online. I think not just ISIS but also other criminals and terrorist organizations uses because it is decentralized.

If so, then what? If not, then what? ISIS may use Bitcoin because besides being free to use anyone, Bitcoin is also more secret, but I do not think it's too important to know. Well, maybe that's one of the advantages that can at the same time be a weakness of bitcoin, that is too free to be used by anyone.

Just like bitcoins, I am sure that ISIS uses the US dollar and other major currencies as well. Without doubt people are using the cryptocurrency for illegal and legal things as well just like everything in the world, there is a good side and a bad side.

Terrorist and hackers use Bitcoin but i think ISIS uses bitcoin about 5% Because they need fast money (physical ) so they sold gold , oil and other things rather than digital one

I guarantee they are... They are also using USD, EUR, JPY, NZD, GBP, Gold, Silver & any other liquid asset. Crypto is just another one in the mix.

As long as we have had some form of currency, there has been fraud. The only thing Crypto allows us to do is speed it up. Crypto is open and therefore traceable. Its far worse to use Crypto for fraud than old school Cash & Gold.
