And bitcoin is pretty much famous in the internet and in deep web so I think that they are using it.

Why use a currency that is associated with anonymity when the whole world knows where you get your money from: The United States government, Saudi Arabia, and Israel.

Do your research. ISIS is a United States' funded organization. Operation Cyclone started out as an op where Reagan and his cronies began to fund the Mujahideen, to fight the Soviets in Afghanistan. We now know them as the Taliban.

Once called "Freedom fighters", they are now conveniently declared terrorists because interests changed, the arms fell into the hands of a different administration.

Again, I reiterate: America created ISIS.

No, they do not use Bitcoin. They use the USD, and the petrodollar. Oh, and they have a lot of it, too! Did you know that Bin Laden was part of the Saudi Royal Family? Yes, he was unhappy with how the Saudi government had ties with the US government. In fact, this is a talking point for Republicans who believe in labeling Arab anarchists as terrorists, too!

Where did you get this facts? Do you have reliable sources? Let's say that your information are true, how can you sure that ISIS does not use Bitcoin? If they are now declared as terrorists, why would the government still fund them? We can never tell if they are using Bitcoin or not.

Only the ISIS knows the answer if they uses bitcoins or not. Grin. But if you will think about where do they get their funds to buy firearms, to have money to recruit more terrorist then maybe some government funded these terrorist.  Because America is one of the manufacturers of firearms.  And if there are wars then that means a lot of money.  But I think IsIS knew about bitcoin and have tried using it or some have bitcoins and have bought and make transaction online.

Maybe yes, who knows?  But for sure they used dollars a lot to buy guns, ammo, pick up trucks, tanks etc. Bitcoin is used globally that's why there's always a chance that they might using it too.

We all know that Bitcoin is also popular to criminals because they can use it without exposing their identity. It will be more convenient to them to use Bitcoin so that they can hide their identity. Do you think that terrorist groups like ISIS use it for their transactions?

Let bitcoin away from the atrocities that the Muslims commit, blame the koran or know what these crazy people believe

In theory, a terrorist group like them would benefit from Bitcoin. ISIS probably has fiat from the United States and Saudi Arabia backing them though.

That seems to be the case. The ISIS does not feel the need to use Bitcoins right now, because they are having several other options. Or this may be due to the fact that usage of Bitcoin needs a minimum amount of computer knowledge.  Grin

I'm sure they do. What kind of Arms dealer would you be if you didn't take Bitcoin as a payment option? I'm sure there's a guy over in Russia that's just got a loaded Bitcoin wallet just from ISIS.

We know all the benefits of Bitcoin and What ways you can bypass some of the requirements of states. So it would be very foolish if the Underworld did not use the crypto currency for their own purposes. We all know perfectly how you can comma and what you can do to avoid punishment. Therefore, I do not exclude that I have seen Bitcoin. And I generally keep quiet about Russia.

No doubt they do.  Embarrassed
A easy way to hide where the funds come from and anyone can access the funds.
Other than using a bank account and being traced.
What do you think? Roll Eyes

I think so.
After all, we already know that criminals and drug dealers using bitcoin very long time.
ISIS proved already many times that Internet and social medias is their main promotion tool and weapon.
So, no doubt that they know about bitcoin and already using it.
Bitcoin is anonymous and decentralized, no government control.
So, it's perfect tool for them.

Using social media outlets, like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and so on is going to be something that is insanely different for a terror organization. I personally hold the view that their usage of Social Media is being used a scare tactic to hit the people that the West cares most about-- their children and the younger generation.

Plus, if these people are going to attempt to use BTC they're going to need to use BTC in combination with banks to be able to sell this off and get to normal currency. It seems like too much of a hassle for them to go through when they could be using cash which is MUCH BETTER at hiding as their is no paper trail when it comes to money.

So, no, not a perfect tool in the least.

He is right. Bitcoin can be used for good causes and for the bad causes. It is not the fault of Bitcoin, if it is in use by the criminals and the terrorists. The main medium of money transfer for the ISIS is hard cash and international bank transfer. Does it mean that fiat money is evil?

It will make it easy for them to buy parts for bombs and weapons without trace. But on the other hand they might not even know about cryptocurrency.

I doubt they do not know about cryptocurrency.  I beleive they know everything and anything about technology.  They uses computers and well versed on technology.  They have programmers in their group.  They have their own website.  And maybe they have huge amount of bitcoins right now.  It would be easier for them to buy things used for their terror plans.

is there any process to identify the bitcoin user..?
so there is a chance to abuse bitcoin in any illegal activities, it is really an alarming topic, that should be examined properly. if ISIS uses this platform then it will be a great challenge to protect bitcoin from them, so it must be focused...

You cannot know who uses Bitcoin because bitcoin users are anonymous. Unlike emails that carry user's names bitcoin transaction are strings of numbers and letter. Thus ISIS using bitcoin is not founded.

Not only Bitcoin but DASH, Monero, ETH, and every other coin out there, not only ISIS but even if Hitler was still alive he would've used them too.

When you start denying people from financial tools and limit their access, obviously systems such as decentralized cryptocurrencies pop out

From every hole, remember the same limitations, monopoly and playing bosses forced Satoshi to think about creating Bitcoin.

It is impossible to differentiate the company by occupation. Any modern people use technology because it is convenient. You can't blame bitcoin for something that they are terrorists. You need to blame the people who turn a blind eye to the activities of terrorists.
