"In a nutshell, the network works like a distributed timestamp server, stamping the first transaction to spend a coin. It takes advantage of the nature of information being easy to spread but hard to stifle." -- Satoshi

a lot of people in this forum hate ETH due to its premined nature, alledged close control, bugs and whatever. How can ETH even survive so long so thus many problems? However, if it indeed lives on, I can see it at $1000 by 2018.

Not only a pre mine issue is very disturbing on investing on ETH but also the security of it. ETH was known for being hacked it's bank and cause a dump and hard fork. But ETH is now stable and lot's of development. 1000$ is sure in next couple of years.

The DAO was hacked. Ethereum itself wasn't.

ethereum can loose its value in next 5 years . Because of lots of scam project which holding ethereum erc20 token and creating token for their ICO.Once the person need to transact that token agin he need some gas means transaction  charge in  ethereum wallet . So its gaining popularity once people loose interest then it will go down

What would be your target price of Ethereum for 2022?
2022... It's a long way, no one can predict that but I think with the gown of ETH like this time, ETH price in 2022 should be 0.3 - 0.4 BTC/ ETH, or maybe Bitcoin price will drop and ETH price will be bigger than Bitcoin
yes 5 years is really a big time to say anything about any currency. but if we examine we can see that the investors are still to much positive about Etherium and most of the investors are already investing some of their assets in bitcoin and therefore,

Its just a mattef of time for eth to be #1market cap. Once that happens people will be more aware of it and the rally will get stronger
Yes. I think etherium will be good in many years to come. It will be known also in the market it will be more popular than before and i think the supply will decrease too but the price will grown a  lot and it will become the second to the bitcoin and one of the leading coins in the market now. And it will be there more years.
Do you have exact amount of ethereum supply once we have exact calculation of etherfeum then we can able to start predict about growth like bitcoin is already having 21 million supply universally known

I think you are right, so long as they  do not take special care about  ethereum erc20 token about what you mention people could lose interest, but on the other hand maybe not, is the same for example with traditional money, nobody goes and deposits money to an institution that has just opened its doors, although not quite the same, implies that people should do a minimal search before investing in anything, I'm trying to say is that
for example some scam coins  have not been able to finish even with BTC, people somehow learn to avoid these kinds of situations and on that basis they does better decisions.

I think it could happen, Ethereum will have a high price. Nothing is impossible in the world of crypto.

Is ETH more secure than bitcoin?  In terms of hackability is ety more secure?  This guy made some ransom child contracts and there was a fork.  Is this possible again?

Ethereum is a hyper-inflated bubble, which can burst at any time. Despite its huge market cap, the number of users is still quite low. And most of the demand comes from China and Russia. In the Western nations, ETH is much behind BTC in trade volumes.

Ethereum in 5 years
By then the bubble well and truly has deflated.
At that time 3 fair released 100% minable coins matter, Bitcoin, Litecoin, Monero.
After that there is literally millions of existing tokens. Everyone with some status has his own chain, which everyone already has sort of (CV) just with added function liquidity, creditworthiness. You want to be part of a business, good show me your money and I can deceit. The cost of a non-minable coin is minimal and be as common as a email address. It is debatable if a USD still exist by then so a common fair reference point is needed to know how much my coin/token is worth to someone else being it a private person fishing club or whatever. With Atomic swapping I pay with my currency and you receive instantly in your currency no exchange or middlemen needed. By then Bitcoin has sidechains active and anything Etherium can do works 100 times faster with Bitcoin as it does not clog the main chain, as its the case with Ethereum.
Litecoin is just the Vice President, as backup and implement new tech faster and to keep the President honest. Monero for last resort backup as completely other tech.
I don't share my email address or phone number. Why would i want to share money with any creep?
Why would i want to Stake into someone else's pocket, I want to Stake into my Pocket.

I expect ETH to be higher than most people think. Probably above USD 10'000 by then. I don't see any future for Monero or Litecoin if they don't evolve. Bitcoin will be in trouble if they don't speed their transactions.
