I think it depends on bitcoin destiny. If bitcoin hard fork will success then ethereum will lost his price a lot. Because now ethereum price grows up so fast because of fear before bitcoin hard fork of some investors. My price is between 1,500-3,000$. When bitcoin price should be not less then 10,000$. I am very optimistic  

Some says bitcoin prices might goes up to 100.000 dollars. So are you sure that you're optimistic?  

In 5 years, we'll be talking about the year, 2022, where bitcoin block halving will have taken place 2 years ago. We'll observe huge price movements.

Ethereum in 2020 I could imagine around $1000.

As large as ETH could get with it already being priced over $200, I would think there are already a few ICOs that are better worth the investment.

Of course there are better things to put your money into - find a low market cap coin or new ipo that looks promising. But people have to buy the former to buy the latter. Wait for the shitcoin to pump then you have gained more btc or eth.

it will probably fail with the rise of a few populair dapps before they found a way to scale.
just see how high fees are already.
when all those ico dapps in development start using the chain the mempool willbe many times bigger then BTC in current times.

Due to popularity of ethereum to the users I think after 5 years it is one of the favorite Altcoins in the crytocurrencies world. Also I was expect that value of ethereum in the future were getting up.

In 5 years the price will likely be lower than many people anticipate. The biggest problem is that investors have trouble differentiating between the Ethereum platform and ETH the token released to raise money for development of the platform. Largely, this lack of understanding has been promoted by proponents who publish or link to articles that have nothing to do with the public chain and are related to the platform only, as if they represent value to the public chain.

ETH investors have been sold on the idea that a decentralized public chain that runs far slower than a cell phone or the 8080 processor is a super computer. The fact is it's extremely limited in its capacity to run multiple smart contracts for thousands of DAPPS as people without computer skills have been convinced. This is already becoming evident; but, will be obvious within five years.

ETH has served it's purpose in providing funds to the Ethereum Foundation for the development of the platform. They have raised millions selling approximately 30 percent of the foundation funds just in the last four months as can be seen here:

Ethereum the platform might be used to develop private chains connecting international business. These private chains do not add to the value of ETH the token and are only useful to the organizations with access. The platform is just one of the many similar platforms developed by companies such as IBM, R3 or others. It remains to be seen which platforms will become dominant players in the future.

If it continues to be based on platform updates, maybe bitcoin will not develop as it is now, we need to understand that the growing ethereum platform also sees from market volume movements and some other fundamental aspects. I think the price effect of ethereum will be adjusted to bitcoin price and will always be 1 level below it. So, potential trend for the next five years depends on majority of issues in trading market. Ethereum development will not stop and it's unlikely they will not improve further innovation.

I think that if demand for the coin keeps growing, the price will keep going up...period. This is the beginning of a new currency system.

It will probably overtake bitcoin in marketcap already next year and maybe in usage the year after that. The smart contract system is quite revolutionary and I'm cautiously optimistic that ethereum could remain the top currency but I think its more likely an even more revolutionary currency will overtake it in that timeframe. I totally agree. Lets keep this topic going until 2022., so we can follow up month by month a year over year events and price levels. I think Ethereum could be from 3000 to 1'000'000.00 USD in five years.

That's my conservative view. This thing can be up $200 in a matter of days or thousands in weeks.

I don't know about 5 years, but in less than a year it will be number 1 in market cap.

And that's when you are going to see a real altcoin boom.

A lot of people including Warren Buffet said bitcoins were worthless but the blockchain has value. They were dead fucking wrong now, weren't they?

I predict the next five years ethereum $ 200 dollars for the highest price

I would be very happy if that's the max of the downside risk.
We have seen the bloom and bust of bitcoin twice previously. What amazed me about Ethereum is that it didn't encounter a sustained period of trough. If the minimum price of Ethereum in next five years is $200, I think we may get to $1,000 very soon, given the bitcoin previous cycle. That would really make me very happy. Just think of Casper, Raiden and all wonderful development are not yet released. We just need to wait for a year and we will see.

Its nice if this would happen that Ethereum will be come up to $200 on the next five years. We are on a risks side but Im still holding my Ethereum as of now. This a prediction though so Ill watch and observe the future of Ethereum.

Yeah, same as me. We still have a long road to go. The only risk I consider important now is that the future of Ethereum is too dependent on VB and the core dev team. I hope their interests are aligned with ETH holders/investors at least within these 5 years.

If the team do a good job the next five years that will result in an important appreciation of the coin itself. I think that Russia adopting ETH will have a huge impact in the short and long term and probably you will have more goverments getting involved.
