BUG FIX MANDATORY UPDATE

Heatledger 2.1.0

This is a mandatory update, all nodes on the network need to run this version
or higher.

A hard fork will happen at block 870,000 at which we will update the block
version number, after that block older versions will not accept blocks from the
new fork and vice versa.

Nodes below 2.0.0 will automatically be blacklisted with this version.

Installation

To install and run heatledger server you need Java JDK 1.8 or higher installed, note that JDK is different from standard java distributions.

On ubuntu:

sudo apt-get install default-jdk

For other platforms look here

http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk8-downloads-2133151.html

UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS [upgrade only, new installations can ignore]

This version will perform a full rescan of the blockchain upon first use, this
happens automatically.

API Documentation

Please look here for API docs https://heatwallet.com/api

List of updates/fixes/features.
  • one critical and two lesser bugs are fixed with this release. details of which will be released when the fork is complete.
  • the custom memory mapped storage maps for storing things like account balances or block ids are reduced in size, this saves several Gigabytes of storage needed in the blockchain folder
  • in case storage maps grow too big they will now automatically be resized

https://github.com/Heat-Ledger-Ltd/heatledger/releases/tag/v2.1.0

I have just installed the new version 2.2.1. How long is this 'rescan' supposed to take? and is it after I start the server that this will happen or before?
i started the server and it seems as though its downloading the entire blockchain in 719 block increments.
im concerned with how long this may take and if there is a possible way around this.
I was forging on linux no problem 2 days ago and now I have downloaded the new version.
it was unclear which version I was to download, 2.1.0 or 2.21.
so I just chose the highest version number

Unfortunately not, only non-zero values indicate success in starting forging. You might use misformatted passphrase, as coding it properly for the API call isn't straightforward for newcomers. Thus you start forging with the wrong account. Installing and using Heatwallet from https://github.com/Heat-Ledger-Ltd/heatwallet/releases and using the GUI to start forging could take you forward in finding out whether your server works at all and you indeed use a wrongly formatted api call.

Maybe it will never be traded on big exchanges. I do not think it is necessary as DEX's such as Heat DEX become more popular.

Greetings from Slush.org! Smiley

This year the HEAT team has strong unofficial presence with both founders and two advisors sourcing new contacts and probing interest for ICO / ITO arrangements on HEAT. The legal and regulatory infrastructure is constantly moving forward and later this year we expect to be able to launch the first ITOs, starting with Heat Ledger's own shares sale.

We're attending the event until it ends early hours Saturday morning.
The HEAT Slack group is indeed currently experiencing trouble adding new users. Solution is being worked on.

Am I missing something? or is it genesis account get more forging blocks or what else am I missing? why the person have less/low heat is forging more blocks then the one having more than 50% heat balance is forging barely half blocks?

any insights on heat forging reward optimizations ?

i dont know for sure the answer to your question. however, i would assume that possibly.. that account had to do the upgrade recently or at least was not forging with 100% uptime. Could that be it or am I missing something?
