No? or maybe yes, we definitely don't know but if after 50 years and all purchases are made through online or a gadget maybe the one will dominate is cryptocurrency, but as of now we don't see it coming yet as some people do not trust cryptos yet.
I think it will happen. As we can see there are crypto payment platforms in existence right now and a lot are still in the process or raising fund through ICOs for the same project, so it is not far to happen that online purchases paid in crypto will be the future. And if more and more platform will rise, physical money will not be needed.

It can be easily observed from historical lessons, that people in the present can't really predict the future.

That means that although we can't imagine a world without fiat currency, there are chances that fiat could "disappear" a 100 or 200 years from now.

In my opinion it is not possible that cryptocurrency will can make real money disappear. Cryptocurrencies are just one type of property online, type of investment and people engaged in it for the purpose of making real money. Changing money to cryptocurrency will be a very long process and i think the government will not allow it to happen because it will result to a lot of changes on the economic system.
Paper money has changed Gold and create new monetary system - current system - for the world's economy. Honestly, nothing is can not change by others, as long as the people want to replace paper money or current monetary system to cryptocurrency or other platform, we can do anything!

We can do anything of course but why didn't we do it before blockchains? We all aware of how unfair and corrupted the current economica system but there were no any tool to help us. here we go, cryptocurrency. final answer to centralized economical system. so I believe when the time comes, cryptos will dominate their paper friends.

What are the chances of living in a world with no actual money ?  Shocked
As for now, I am not yet seeing our world to be living without existing real money in terms of cash because we have already grown up with it and even the rise of cryptocurrencies have come, I think we can no longer eliminate the usage of real money because there are still characteristics and features that real money can only do and still many people do prefer using cash rather than getting along and using cryptocurrency. As long as people are seeing that there is a real essence to use real money, we cannot eliminate or make real money disappear because time will still come that people will be needing more real money than cryptocurrencies.

I think that bitcoins can really make money disappear since there are a lot of professional programmers who really want to live a cashless country and the hindrance will be only the corrupted government since they do not want to get revealed on stealing the countries money.

This is the question that I asked for my thesis project.

Recent developments show that BTC will replace the real money and I think the same way.

I think that wouldn’t happen because although cryptocurrencies are emerging on this kind of generation, money is too wide range and is used way back then. I think it will be a good alternative but will never be used as substitute in the future.

This isn't even a possibility mainly because we should remember that all these so called cryptocurrencies (most of them) are decentralized meaning there is no power of authority within the system. With different types of governments in different countries, it just wouldn't be possible to go up against fiat which is a centralized currency and has been in the circulation ever since the beginning of modern trade.

Since cryptocurrency is still evolving and developing we still not know what might happen in the future. But as of now even if cryptocurrency exist like Bitcoin, the conventional money will not disappear because old people might not adopt the changes if it will changes already. We must educate first the people you doesn't know the cryptocurrency for them to adopt the innovation.

living in the world do not use actual money, now will use crypto as a substitute for real money because the government does not let it happen, but we need all that for the transaction. could use another way for online transactions like using cryptocurrency when people use it. so all there must be a way out for other transactions, I think digital money is needed in the future and all will use it for online transactions or others.

If I were to rate its chance, I would say it is low. Why? Most government bodies are not supporting it since it lacks security. Also, cryptocurrencies also has limitations. Unlike physical money, cryptocurrencies can't be used if there's no internet or gadget.

Won't happen and if it does I don't think I want to live in that world because that world would be complete chaos. At the same time it is hard for me to conceive a world that would have money if bitcoin is successful because why would we need money if everybody had bitcoin and everybody had a phone. It is something I think about often but will probably never have the answer to in my lifetime  Undecided.

I think this is hard to achieve. The government will not recognize its legitimacy, and it's a virtual cryptocurrency, which does not exist in reality.
Although most of the time we do not need to pay for paper money, there are still many situations where we need money.
And, if we do not have a network, how can we pay for it.

silly, bitcoin can not make real money disappear. Real money is very important in our lives, money is the main payment method in everyday life. bitcoin is digital money, the state does not support bitcoin, they will forbid bitcoin.

I think its not possible. I would be very hard for all the people to adopt to cryptocurrency. Not all places has internet connections and not all people have smartphones or laptops. Also cryptocurrencies are so volatile that it may drastically affect the economy of a country that solely relies on it.
Exactly, I cant imagine places like many third world countries using cryptocurrency using internet and a PC when they cant even afford to buy food or clean water

Having an everyday life that solely relies on cryptocurrencies as  way of payment is very expensive and would take time. Some platforms charges almost 0.001 btc as the transation fee, in which will make payments of low amount become too expensive, it will not be reliable. Also it takes about 8 minutes to complete a bitcoin transaction, in which is a long time specially when you're in a rush.
Depends on the cryptocurrency in question, BITCOIN yeah the fees is too too toooo high for regular micro payment to be done, but alts like say IOTA don’t even have fees
