It depends on the kind of coins that is mainstream. But they prices is somehow connected to bitcoin. They fluctuate and don't have a stable price. They still have a future though, who knows that this kind of coin can overcome ETH or maybe bitcoin.

I believe Bitcoin has a future in long term. It proved itself in the past years and it is getting widely popular. It just has a transaction fee problem atm.

What about the altcoins? Who does use them for real? Will people use them in the future for real purpose?

I only have a hope for ethereum and litecoin, but not for the rest. I am not even sure for eth and ltc.

If bitcoin solves the reansaction fee and time problem, I doubt eth and ltc even have a future.

Bitcoin truelly has a future, but when it comes to its transactions fee and time for confirmation, those might remain. Cause on a daily basis, more and more people are investing into bitcoin making the bitcoin system very heavy with lots of transactions to be confirmed.

The way bitcoin is going these days am thinking otherwise for alts. Though many alts will die off in the long run  and only those with good use cases will be remaining. That's when alts potentials will be seen.

I think in short term every thing is possible as we experienced high increase in prices of most of major altcoins such as Ethereum. But in long term everything depends on what will happen to Bitcoin.
In my opinion in future we will have only one acceptable cryptocurrency. If Bitcoin can solve its problems like high transaction fees that you mentioned, It will be that cryptocurrency. If not we should wait for another cryptocurrecncy that will replace Bitcoin.
We should also consider another important issue which is governments decisions. In future after accepting bitcoins by entire world, Governments would like to have more control on the system. We should wait for their decision whether they want bitcoin to be that major cryptocurrency or not.
government will be a very big problems in crypto currency world i think. and we cannot do anything with government decisions uf soon they will going to be a part in crypto currency. obviously they will not going to agree because coins are not taxable.

That is good thing and I agree. Solid projects will show themselves if the Bitcoin will stay strong.

Ofcourse they have a future. But not all of altcoin has a bright future. Those only who are capable to stay in the market.  Even if the price of bitcoin now is so high, they can still stand and make their own name. But Im hoping that like bitcoin, someday altcoin will also boom in the market and surpass their recent value..

Of course bitcoin will have a good future, we have seen what bitcoin reached in the past few years and we saw the trend where is it going, it keeps on rising. As of now bitcoin's price is sitting at more than 11 thoousand US dollars, when I last checked it was just 75000 us dollars, see how fast bitcoin rise, this may also happen to other altcoins but it will be hard for them. The second to bitcoin, ethereum is way more far when it talks about the price, it is just about 450 us dollars compared to 11 thousand us dollars. I believe it will have a good run in the future. Not all altcoins of course because most altcoins are shitcoins and worthless, just those who have potential to grow will have a chance to compete with bitcoin.

%99 of altcoins are used to make money, no real life use. Only a few of them have real value. That's why when Bitcoin falls all altcoins fall together (and opposite happens). In 10 years we won't see %99 of these altcoins in the market.

We must have to think for Bitcoin right now. Still Bitcoin is not regulated. It will take certain time, but Altcoins are basically an alternative coins used instead of Bitcoins as there value can be decided in BTC. Now a days many altcoins are there. Few them are really promising but many of them have no future.

Bitcoin is creating history. And when bitcoin will reach to $100K there will be certain need of altcoins for micro or small transactions as fee for smaller transactions with bitcoins will be not affordable. Value of altcoins will also be on some height at that time.

The market of altcoins is to have a future but only for 10-20 projects a maximum. Perhaps in the near future from 1500 projects will be near 5000 then the market will start to collapse. I am confident that the 10 projects running on the blockchain is able to implement all that is necessary to humanity and will not be 1500 more projects

yes, altcoin has a future if the altcoin we choose has good value and the project that runs is useful for the future, because if the project has a good value for the future, we will get big profits because the coin price will rise.

99% of them are garbage indeed, but I don't think that they will just disappear simply because there's no centralized entity that will take the coin into its grave once it disappears.

Also, in 10 years we'll see much more altcoins that produce real value and that will be largely independent of Bitcoin's movements.

Competition gives relaxbility to the users,Cryptocurrency such a leading growing market and surely competition will rise,we look past experience of cellular companies once it launched monopoly were there after time to time many cellular companies capture the market and rates gone decrease and other facilities are enjoying the customers.Same scenario with altcoins People are going invest in etherum and other altcoins,in future there is possibility that new coin capture market with new feature high profit earning and low transaction fees the definitely people will move towards. Altcoins have strong future and if government legalize the Bitcoin altcoins will never die.

Got my account back! It was hacked. Sorry about it :|

Bitcoin have future thats for sure. I do believe that there will be some alts standing still not just LTC and ETH but these as well: DASH, DOGE, XMR, ZCASH

There will be more of them. But the point is and will stay prob most of the alts will exist in the future for the people to gamble upon, to create fake value. We all know that most of them were made for profit and nothing else.
Yes!! I Think so altcions have a future. as a result they we can get ahead in life. Hopefully not lose it in the meantime as a result they expect us to lift up the life. Hopefully not lost the internet, cellphone for consistency the altcion would learn also it most to all of us grow
