Do Altcoins really have a future?

Of course many altcoins will have good future. Look at where we are today. Bitcoin, ETH, LTC, Altcoin they all have very bright future. Even if you don't believe altcoins have a future, many people have become rich trading in altcoins.

This is such an interesting thread.

It is crazy to see how much things have changed from last year July.
I'm happy that the crypto market is growing and maturing.

At this point, does any doubt altcoins future?
To me, altcoins are the future.

I love bitcoin, but there has not been any successful updates to it.
All of the millions of forks have been contested, unwanted, or flat out bad.
So the tech is now 6, 7 years old?
Imagine having a phone or computer that is 7 years old?
In the tech world, that is ancient.

I am hoping for a future where eth or neo is widely used for businesses to cut out middle men and and increase efficiency.
I am hoping for a future where blockchain 3.0 or dag or whatever you want to call it is as widely used as visa/mastercard.

And I am hoping for a future where we finally find out what happened to Satoshi Nakamoto.

So almost everyone is saying that BTC is a failure, and i don't think that it is ancient. Bitcoin is so advanced that we don't even have an idea on how to mine it in an efficient way. Computers are upgrading but in this past 7 years there are no known person who handled the complexity of the Bitcoins network. This technology is much more advanced that we think it is, thats why people created altcoins, because they given up fixing the problems about the long transaction time and scalability which I dont think satoshi expect humanity to have a solution in this problem in the next decades. This crypto are for the long hodlers.

Its like saying that atoms have been here billions of years ago but no one knows what binds them.

Undoubtedly, altcoins has the right to continue existence. But this is only for those of them who carry in themselves the importance for society.

I believe Bitcoin has a future in long term. It proved itself in the past years and it is getting widely popular. It just has a transaction fee problem atm.

What about the altcoins? Who does use them for real? Will people use them in the future for real purpose?

I only have a hope for ethereum and litecoin, but not for the rest. I am not even sure for eth and ltc.

Yes, bitcoin will last a long time. Even if we die, bitcoin still exists to serve everyone. I believe it.
Indeed the crypto market is unlikely to be beaten, especially bitcoin. We can see it as the best service ever. There are no scams and we are free to trade money without intermediaries. We are not under control of the money and that has made many people involved in bitcoin.
Increasingly advanced technology and bitcoin will get more users.

Exactly as long as the teams are really doing their job not only raising money as much as they could and abandon the project. Sad but that is quite common now to see nothing of profit but scam.

But if you really believe in one project and the team behind it then just hodl, the good will come to you

Many altcoins are new and not reality. But some altcoins solve social problems. Example: eth help project mobilize capital what we call “ico”

It's like asking does Google has a future in the AOL/Yahoo era. There is Amazon but there is also an Ebay. There is always going to be competition and the most innovative coin is going to survive. If something came first doesn't means that it is going to stay first forever.

Yes you are right and you should pay attention if you want to buy altcoins you have to buy at the time the price goes down, this affects the selling price later if you want to sell it.
