Yes, of course, they do have. Maybe at a slower rate but they will.

I personally think some have a future. Most are just pump and dumps. XRP will most likely stay around as a transfer coin. If the marketplaces make a shift to a more anonymous coin monero will grow. I honestly have little faith in ETH after the recent hacks, but my opinion is not represented in the markets at all. I do think LTC is one to watch.

Think of the main coins as the stable technology upon which the newer coins will use as a template for designing their new tokens/blockchains. I think in the future Bitcoin will be a collectors item or symbol status like gold is but you wouldn't pop into the shop to buy a loaf of bread with gold. The every day crypto of the future will utilize high transaction per seconds and ease of adoption for the masses.

I believe Bitcoin has a future in long term. It proved itself in the past years and it is getting widely popular. It just has a transaction fee problem atm.

What about the altcoins? Who does use them for real? Will people use them in the future for real purpose?

I only have a hope for ethereum and litecoin, but not for the rest. I am not even sure for eth and ltc.

If bitcoin solves the reansaction fee and time problem, I doubt eth and ltc even have a future.
it all depends on bit coin ALT coins are the byproduct of BTC

I think that the altcoyins have a future. Imagine that Bitcoin is like the Dollar, the Ethereum is like the Euro, and the remaining Altkoins are other currencies.

I agree, somehow most of us are focusing too much in Bitcoin and Ethereum and other top crypto we didn't know that we already missed a train from other crypto currencies like for example NEO coin it started with a price of 0.18$ now its current price is 108$ that is only an example i also wasn't able to invest in that coin.

ETH, Monero have possible raise there price in the future because they are very popular and they safe currencies. They are many people use ETH, Monero as altcoin to earn profit. For me Dash, Litecoin, Ethereum and other altcoins have possible to raise in the future.

I think most alts will die because they are useless. People just buy them to make money. After Bitcoin's transfer rate has improved, the alts have not had much of a boost.

I think Everything is possible though bitcoin is the mother of all digital currency. some altcoins are trying their best in the real world. crypto revolves around trust. once people trust one altcoin, it will begin spreading and start to get notice. that's when altcoins become worthy. you can't remove the fact that their are altcoins which are already dead and people are just keeping them in thier wallets.

In a future when the prices will fall and cryptocurrency market will be stabilized only some brands will stay on the market. It will be four or five currencies no more. ETH, Ripple may be some others. IMHO

I like cryptocurrencies that can really be used, they definitely have a future. For example, the Coinholic project is essentially a market of high - quality digital assets (software, graphic design, training courses and materials, cryptocurrency Converter, etc.) and THE COH token is a means of payment in this market.

90% Alt coin are junk and will be vanish within 1 to 2 years. Only Alt coin with real product will survive, we will see lots of alt coin will disappear in 2018, because most are just a simple whitepaper, nothing else. I often surprised people investing their life saving on these whitepaper, without realizing, they don't have anything to back up those whitepaper claim. So yeah project like NEO, Lisk, Walton, XLM etc will survive.

ethereum and bitcoin are very different, if bitcoin can be spelled out like the main currency in bitcoin as a pair of all altcoin. but ethereum is only complementary to altcoin because all can not be solved only with bitcoin. for example in ethereum the existence of smart contract feature that will be very helpful in the future.

Question is how many crypto currencies will really be needed to cover well the currency function, value storage, the need for total privacy and then all the other uses cases? A more fundamental question for the future of the whole market is, how big the part of the total economy will be that will get decentralised. I am bullish on that outlook but surely not all coins and tokens in existence today will still be there in 2 years time.

%99 of altcoins are used to make money, no real life use. Only a few of them have real value. That's why when Bitcoin falls all altcoins fall together (and opposite happens). In 10 years we won't see %99 of these altcoins in the market.

Perhaps there is, but not all. There are a lot of factors that influence, I think that they will merge into some sort of altcoins that would grow, today there are too many altcoins. In the meantime, we are waiting, analyzing and buying worthy coins with a good future! Good luck to all!

They have a good future same with bitcoin, there always be fans of altcoins. With bitcoin price that high, people will tend to invest in cheaper coins. People doesn't uses them only for transaction but they want to earn more income by investing.

When you look at the price charts of the altcoins for the last weeks since the bitcoin correction, you could think that theres no hope left for altcoins. But when you really in to a project with an utility token, you think different. Im investet in many utility tokens and coins, which im absolutly convinced that they have real use case and you can use this project. So that why i hold those tokens. The only thin is, that you have to be patience.

Don't know what kind of future is it, but the near future they exactly are, because a lot of work to be carried out on this subject, and these works are created every day more and more, so the next 5 years they will live and thrive is 100%

Doubting the future of altcoins is totally baselessin my opinion.
And it never occurred to me that there will only be one (1) cryptocurrency in the future.
There are many coins that have thrived well against bitcoin, because they have shown real usage and application in real life.
Take foe example etherium and monero, they are very popular and successful.
