Yes, a lot of limitations like for gambling, if you're in gambling you really know what are they, and what this limitations you have to get away of your self. If you're a gambling person you really know how to limit of yourself to put away some of addictions.

Yeah specifically in gambling , if you have some limit for your gambling then you have even prevent your self from such a big lost. in fact most of the people do not have any limit for playing gambling and therefore for most of the time they lose money. but those people who have their limit for playing gambling they can prevent themselves from big lost and mostly make good profit.

If you have limit that doesnt mean you are preventing anything at all. If you are still gambling, you are still exposing yourself to every risk that gambling had. If you think you are limiting and preventing it , no you are wrong on that. The only way to prevent and limit it is to stop gambling, that means complete stop at all cost

Limiting yourself to play gambling would be a lot more better than just limiting the bets that you are going to make in a single day playing gambling. I agree with you especially with limiting yourself so that you have already help yourself by gambling only a little and then trying to and money but has no Assurance of it. some people just don't I agree with the idea that you are going to lose in the long run but in experience it's always the house that always wins .

Yes I do, I always enter a game having a preset amount that I am willing to completely lose. And very often I do lose it all. My thinking goes along the lines, that it is a kind of a fee for having good time. Especially if it is a nice poker game with some good friends - I value the time we spend together and I am willing to lose the money, no problem there.

That's a good idea that once we gamble we spend only a small amount of money, so that we don't disappoint if we lose in gambling. Yes l have to set up limits to my self because sometimes I have no discipline in my life just to follow orders. But I think that is one import thing to do in life. That if we have limitations we cant do the bad thing.

Not only you need to put limits to yourself in your life as everyone should do this because putting limits in your life will make you more disciplined and people will like you more than they usually like you due to this discipline. One more thing comes here which is that people only think that we should only put limits on ourselves only in case of gambling which is totally incorrect.

I agree that self-control is the most important part especially in gambling, if you can not control yourself, I'm sure sooner or later you'll be addicted.

I think there are times where you get really greedy in a way that you think you could get more out of it and thinking that you can be efficient. If you take a look at yourself check if you are getting dependent on gambling or what You observe you are doing because for me I see myself and I gamble I try to maximize my profits and turns out that I make losses more. I want to rush things and that's what I'm going to change.

Putting limita to yourself was the way to control yourself while you are gambling. It is the best thing we must do when we enter the world of gambling. Because if we dont do that then surely we can lose our money and we will become addict on it to the point that we dont know that it was getting all the money that we have.

Be careful if that's your strategy while you're keen to limit yourself it'll have no effect as you're trying to fill in a void which is dangerous, and I would suggest that's not good. I would advise you to be cautious and not do gambling to cure loneliness, do it for fun, and to earn. Try to find a better sport and move on.

You are right, by definition alone "gambling is for fun or gambling is fun".
We should stick to that definition because whether we will accept it or not, we will end up being  a loser in the end so it's necessary to have fun.

Putting limits on you before going for gambling is a good thing but the problem here is that not most of the gamblers remain on their promises and they forget about their limits when they put their first step in casino because they are just willing to make more and more money for which they would do anything they would need to do. These limits in real means are of no use.

i firmly believe if one want to gamble before he start he must set an amount for win lose although it is tempting to keep on playing even when you lose as i am quite sure many people have this revenge feeling want to win back what i have lose at the start but there is always two side to a coin, who knows instead of winning back what you lose, you lose more to the banker and this feeling kicks in again. Control yourself to continue betting is a very hard thing when you are in the middle of the game but we must learn it. Ways like only bring the money that you prepare to win or lose don't bring too much money so even you are tempted you will not be able to continue betting because you does not have the money. This is a good way for me to over gamble.

I will definitely set a limit on how much i should bring and the limit of money i will lose before i go gamble, i do not want to see a scenario where i am overspend borrowing money form loan house or credit cards debt build up in the end my wife or my parents need to help me settle the mess that i create, i am a gambler and not a messy creator.

Limitations are great but limiting yourself when you are already gambling is not as easy as you think.

At first, I also thought of limiting myself but it did not work out since the more I limit myself the more I am losing a lot of money. I changed my plan on bringing a smaller amount of money with me especially when I know I will be walking in a casino, but that did not also work out. I guess the best limitation I did was limiting myself on going to casinos and being into my life and into my family, though I still gamble but not like in the past.

Also, I did limiting myself on gambling for years and that is really hard for me, but I did end that addiction.

There is no doubt that you are exposing yourself to a lot of risk already when gambling but as long as you understand those risk and still gamble anyway, then you will be the one to explain what you find interesting in gambling normally. However, the worst part of the situation is to ever gamble without placing some limit. This is the worst part for anyone. As long as you are not considering the aspect of easily getting a filled day trying to recover losses from a lot of emotional eruption, then the person is already taking the wrong path.
