Another week has passed so let's talk about everything DeepOnion...
Markets
Earlier this week the alt-markets saw a steady decline but this isn't surprising given the continued downtrend in Bitcoin and their close relationship to it. Fortunately, the last day has seen a 50% rise in DeepOnion's price owed mainly to the increased publicity and exposure from key figures within the crypto community as well as the belief and delivery of key milestones within the project . It's great to see that those people are now taking an interest in us. Furthermore, the Dev team and mods are continuing their dedication to DeepOnion's future and few coins could boast such an active team. With the impending DeepVault feature around the corner it's a great time to accumulate some Onions
(and hold! haha)
Mining
Mining has been consistent this week at around 600g/hash, a 100% increase over last week's. This is a good indicator of DeepOnions continued growth and the adoption by larger mining communities. I would expect this number to increase as DeepOnion's success grows and new features are rolled out.
Community
This week we announced the winner of our logo/avatar competition. A huge thank you for all your contributions, there is some fantastic work! We're happy to announce Lefan as our overall winner followed by redbull and imgroot in close second and third. You can see the thread and more details here:

Airdrop
This week saw the 11th round of Airdrops and another successful free distribution of Onions to our members. After a slight delay in the airdrop due to unforeseen circumstances, 276 people received a combined total of 250,000 onions! Great work team. You can see the statistics for this week's airdrop here:

Airdrops are a critical component of the DeepOnion distribution and the more Onions we share, the greater decentralisation, the greater the anonymity and the easier it is for others to benefit from this coin. Many of you will have noticed that a lot of previously erroneously banned members are now eligible again for the free airdrop. As we stated, we have a dedicated and focused mod team and we will do our best to solve your issues as quickly as possible.
Update
There has been a great deal of work this week behind the scenes, specifically with regards to ongoing development. Of note:
Further refinement of our forum Trust feature - In support of our new trading platform on deeponion.org, members can view one another's trust. A metric that is gained or lost through trading events.
I have begun drafting of the whitepaper and we are hard at work making sure that it is perfect and clearly sets out our vision for the DeepOnion project.
DeepVault is almost ready and is going through internal testing.
As always - A big thank you to our community members who continue to impress us with their contributions. We love the artwork so keep it coming. Who knows, if we really like it we may even tweet it and send you a reward! There's also been a great deal of video work this week too, keep up the good work. We all love to see them.

This week's DeepOnion preview: DeepVault sneak peak!
Please note: this is not a full reveal, just a sneak peak at what is to come (a full feature preview will be given soon). In addition, please be aware that DeepTrust has been renamed to DeepVault, to more accurately reflect the technology.
So what is DeepVault? Quite simply, DeepVault is an information store that is held within the blockchain meaning that the data is immutable, forever! More specifically, DeepVault allows Onion members to store file validation credentials (hashes of files) within the blockchain. This has obvious benefits as it allows users to verify a file's integrity over time. Therefore, if the hash of the file changes, then the file has been altered or corrupted. This tool will be invaluable in checking whether your important documents are secure and have not been tampered with. Legal documents are an obvious use for this feature as it would enable a person to verify that the document, and thus content, has not been altered either maliciously, erroneously or through file corruption.
Well that's it for this week but I must stress I had to control myself this week. There is so much exciting development behind the scenes and I cannot wait to write and tell you about it. Importantly, the project is still on track and we are not suffering any delays currently.
