Well, I think that most of us expected a big change of the airdrop rules, but this ... this is not an evolution, this is huge revolution. With a little exaggeration, it seems that only the unpopular 1st September rule remains unchanged, not sure, what to think about this Anyway, need to read the long list of rules more times and digest it a little bit before making any deeper comments. After first reading, most rules make sense to me and I understand why they have been introduced (even though, as usually, they have both pros and cons). I just have an impression that the new airdrop system is too much whales friendly, this is my main feeling after the first reading.

Review of airdrop 16 rules

So, before I start writing my review of airdrop 16 rules,
I would like to qualify the post first with:
"rules are rules, you have got to follow them. If you do not like the DeepOnion rules, you can leave and join another coin"

Hits:
1. Rule 5 : Rule 5 in my opinion is the best Rule change among all rules. This rule is a free market rule. We are no longer closed, controlled market. This rule signals confidence on DeepOnion by Developers and moderators of DeepOnion. They are willing to let market forces decide the course of action for Onion Price.
2. Rule 10 & 11 : Second chance to community members. There are hundreds of members, who had committed innocent mistakes and were sitting on fence to be included. It is a welcome change that they will be allowed to enter Airdrop 16 arena.
3. Rule 3 : Gets DeepOnion the visibility it needs and it deserves.
4. Rule 7 : This rule will go long way in fixing the cheaters issue.
5. Rule 6 : Gives flexibility to use different ONION address.
6. Rule 2 : Gets members to DeepOnion community

Misses:
1. Rule 1 : In my opinion this is one of the bigger misses of airdrop 16 rules. The date September 1, 2017 required to be modified to September 15 or October 1 but it did not happen. There are again many committed community members sitting on fence, who could have be motivated by this airdrop. But we failed them.
Disclosure : my own date of joining BCT is September 22 and I have vested interest in highlighting this point.
2. Rule 4 : Although, Rule 4 gets DeepOnion the investment it needs. But contrary to Rule 5, Rule 4 creates closed, controlled market situation. It also punishes the community members, who have been working dedicated for DeepOnion but do not have necessary 100 Onion limit. There are possibly members, who because of legal status of Crypto in their country can not buy 100 Onions and they will suffer.
3. Rule 8 : The limitation of Reward factor to 5X in conjunction with Rule 4 is murder of meritocracy. It will breed elitism in DeepOnion community. If a community member works dedicatedly and somehow collects 100 Onions, he/she will be eligible for 500 onions max. Whereas, someone with holding 10K Onion will have better benefits even without raising a finger (Ok, I know Rule 3 is still applicable)
4. Rule 9 : This is the one I believe that seriously needs consideration. I know we want to reward hodlers. But we do not want to make Blockchain a central DB. With combination of staking and additional reward on staking we are making this a huge centralized chain. Also, did someone analyze the impact on GINI index of Onions because of this rule ?

I was really surprised the 90% rule was eliminated, I'm not gonna lie I enjoyed that rule but I believe that the mods and dev's know whats best for the community and will only build to improve it.
