Hi, I posted these in the pictures thread, I thought some of you might be interested in them aswell.

It was a long, but happy day now that I've received our Avalons!

<photo>
Avalon close up

I dont own any of these AVALON units but wouldn't it be better to space the units out instead of stacking them on each other? Would this not reduce the heat that gets collected while they are running?

Just a thought.
Hi smoothie Smiley

Avalon made them to be stacked- as Yifu has confirmed/mentioned himself on these forums. Perhaps if the room I have them in was cooler, then they might run cooler spread out and not stacked. However, I have 65 degree air blowing directly in the air intake, and if I spread them out I'd have to remake my air ducts. The rest of the room is about 75-85 degrees, so I need that cold air to blow directly into them. They are quite cool to the touch.

I will probably put an air manifold onto the air ducts and connect them directly to the Avalons soon to try to push them to 375mhz, they are OCed to 350mh right now. Running average of 109 Gh.. Lowest 105 Gh, Highest 115 Gh. The highest core temp is 70c and Yifu said he ran them up to 85c for a long time and it never crashed/burned up. Hopefully they are safe.  Grin

Thanks for sharing that information concerning Yifu and the stacking.

I would buy a 4 module unit for 50btc. I am sure many would.

As long as they arrive within 3 weeks from now

Don't forget that when batch 3 price was announced Yifu guaranteed that the units would have been delivered to customers by May.

So, are you willing to make the same mistakes over and over again?

I call dibs on the first one to break down, one or three of the modules.....seriously though, why not vent the hot outside?

Don't send bad mojo my way!

I've worked really hard the past couple days cutting two 18" holes for the AC exhaust and AC compressor air intake manifold, putting up insulation, etc.

Like I said.. I'm in Texas and it gets 100+ degrees here during the day. I need air conditioning for 7 Avalons in a 10x10 room, they would fry up in a second with only exhaust fans. I've tried it with GPUs, infact I have some inline fans sitting around my house not being used because they did not cool my GPU farm well enough. They are quality Vortex inline fans too.

I have seen it be 117°F (47°C) in Austin, and August is only now starting.

My summer solution is to vent the exhaust to the outside, and bring the outside make-up air into the central air return air plenum just ahead of the filter.

I try to be respectful and informed.

Wasn't it their intention to have these units break even within 2 weeks? Or am I remembering that incorrectly?

Yep and Yifu also said batch #3 would be shipped out in 2 weeks.  Well its almost 3 weeks now and I still have not gotten anything.  My order still says processing.

Yifu also said Trade-ins would be added to the store and well its over 3 months later and they still have not been added.

In the business world its good to be a man of your word and be on time.  If you can't be on time, own up to it and be transparent with your customers.

There really should be some sort of compensation.

Just watch the difficulty skyrocket again.

Difficulty always skyrockets.
Though there are some big projects coming due.
B3 is mostly shipping...
100TH mine...

Wonder if those large mystery Avalon chips order that preceded Zefir's GB will show up on the network soon.

Just watch the difficulty skyrocket again.

Difficulty increase of 400% at once is theoretical possible according the code.

20% increase at once is not "skyrocket". calm down!

Slightly messed it up, forgot the word 'ever'... but its fixed, although may not be necessary in this situation - since the dance appears to be happening.  Cool  Glad someone picked up on its origin though  Grin
