I think it is possible if you can analysis other people actions, you can possible to read what they think but it really hard to do.

I want to aay no, it's not possible but there are a lot of cases of mind reading everywhere so i'm not a believer but i may be possible for some people. And it's been ongoing for a long tjme. Science would probably have proof about this in he future but now it's going to be a mystery for most of us why some can actually pull off such things

It's impossible for me that you can read other minds. The only way you can guess what others thinking is by reading their action/moves which is being used in psychology but you can't read directly their mind. If possible, I think it won't because of science , it is somewhat a special ability.

Rather than reading call it prediction. They judge you by your thoughts. Have you seen the lie detector tests.? It's not 100% sure but up to some point it is. There are people who can fake a lie detector test similarly, there are people who can predict you.

I think that mind reading is impossible however it is possible to deduce what that mind is thinking through scientific or body language and guesswork. However I can't think of a device that currently can read or might read a mind through its wavelengths and accurately read it.

It is possible. I've already seen clips where they can predict what option the test subject would choose simply by watching which parts of the brain activate.

You know what can be more sinister? TMS can actually temporarily turn you into a psychopath by changing what parts of your brain is activated/inhibited.

I think this is more of a "guess" rather than mind reading.  While it makes for a fun party or sideshow trick, true mind reading has never been proven to exist. Humans do have something that's very close to that, however, in the way we consciously and subconsciously observe and interpret a person's intention by observing their facial expressions, body movements and tone of voice. I think the phenomenon of "mind reading" ultimately comes to body language. We reveal a lot about what we're thinking and doing through body language. Someone who is really good at reading people and how we stand, sit or move with our bodies will have some ability to "read our minds."

I guess this kind of mind reading can just read the people's pattern thoughts but not their specific thoughts. For example, they will be able to determine that you are thinking about wanting to eat something, but wouldnt be able to tell whats that specific food. It's not something supernatural power but its the mastery of the art of keen observation where  human's outward features reacts to the diffeent stimulus being presented to the brain.  so i guess our passwords are stil safe.

Well, we have mentalists that can guess ATM passcodes by simply looking at people as they recall the passcodes so it's possible that someone would be able to make a facial recognition software than can do the same thing. Not to mention that we now have technology (albeit cumbersome) to look at brain activity and guess what people would answer in simple tests. Add to the fact that we can now stimulate or inhibit various brain parts and you have a plot for a dystopian novel.

to read someone's mind here is what would need to happen first.

First, we already know that mechnical limbs can be attached to someone and their nervous system interfaces with them, allowing people with metal legs and bionic legs to walk and function almost normally.

Second, we need to decode the brain. The brain is a big Central Processing Unit(CPU) and the instruction are written in a certain programming langauge(human nerves/chemicals/fibers etc).

Third, implant something into your brain the allows you to wirelessly communicate and or read other people's brains who also have that implant (think bluetooth or NFC or SBEAM). With NFCor SBEAM one phone can transmit all of its data to another phone. with bluetooth you can send and receive messages wirelessly.

It is already possible, the devices used are just not yet convenient to drag around so it's mostly confined to labs. And it's still crude, mostly guessing how subjects would answer math quizzes for example.

I'm more concerned about mind altering. If they could find a way to selectively turn some parts of the brain "on" and "off", they can influence how people behave.

Exactly. We can make conclusion based on someones reactions and facial expressions. It is best if you know that person for some time, and you will mostly be correct. It is harder if you don't know someone for long, but even then it is possible to see reaction that you saw before at some other person.
