Same here but being a total beginner here, I naturally headed to Bitcoin first, may get interested to buy some Eth too in the future.

I prefer BITCOIN more than any altcoin and its simply because of the fact that Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency and it is more popular than any altcoin. Bitcoin is way more stable than ethereum and chances of growth are higher for Bitcoin than ethereum.

As I see so far, the stability of price of bitcoin is because the market capital bitcoin have and the 24h volume of trading, none of whales can manipulate and could only hardly spread fud to change people opinion so yes bitcoin is more stable, but for trading activities, stability is not that good.
talking about the chance of growth, i think that ethereum has more potential than bitcoin, theres so many ico using ethereum smartcontract, will make ethereum forcefully evolving, but we will see after hardfork for both bitcoin and ethereum and decide which one will be the best.

Bitcoin is a store of value, with a fixed mechanism. The concept of blockchain was invented for Bitcoin. Yes, many people found other uses of the blockchain tech, but its original purpose was to run the Bitcoin network.

Ethereum on the other hand is a programmable blockchain. The pitfalls of a programmable blockchain are so humungous, that its almost certain that the system will be hacked at some point in the future. A hack will not kill Eth, but it would make some serious dents.

I am not claiming that Bitcoin is un-hackable. But the chances of Bitcoin getting hacked are miniscule vs Eth. Wearing the investor's hat, I'd put my money in Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is good to make payments. ETH is good to invest and make some ICO. These are a different coins and I like them both.

I prefer bitcoin. It as already proven so much and look at its price right now. But I have nothing against ETH, it has a great potential too but I'm more confident investing with bitcoin. In can easily profit my savings for a week and it is easily convertible into fiat. It doesn't need to pass an exchange to convert it. That is why I like bitcoin more and I am eager to earn it.

I don't understand people who prefer bitcoin only because he is the first one. It's like someone would say he loves the oldest first car made and would love to use it instead of let say new lamborghini. I'm not saying that bitcoin is like an old car nor ethereum is the future, but people should start looking at coins based on their technology. And unfortunatelly, no matter how much more I prefer bitcoin to other coins, for me it's unusable in terms of transactions. I don't fancy paying even 15 dollar fee only to send couple of dollars to other address. For now, I use ethereum for that quick and cheap payments. There may be people that use it for the smart contracts features, but for me it's just easier to send money with it.

It depends on what you are seeking. If you are looking for a safer investment i'd take bitcoin over anything. I don't see any better coin than bitcoin when it comes to safe long term investment.

If I have to choose between Etherium and Bitcoin on where to invest my money, I would prefer investing to Etherium. Indeed, the market value of Bitcoin is whay high compared to Etherium but the rate on the increase of the market value of Etherium is faster since it is more often used in ICOs compared to Bitcoin which highly affects its demand. It's market value is increasing as well as the profit from the investment of the investors to ETH.

ethereum is a very good altcoin and it is certainly a tremendous prospect. but what is here is bitcoin, bitcoin is too far developed and I think bitcoin is still the best.

It's true that so many people say that ETH was having a potential on its price that could soaring high till further exceed the BTC price. But for me personally still more prefer to BTC, and ETH as second rank for me.. it's not easy for me to moving out from the prefer.. from BTC to another coins. And i'm still convinced that BTC will remain the highest on its value than Altcoins including ETH.

I'll keep my loyalty to bitcoins. Ethereum is a good investment because it's whitepaper tells us how useful it is for creating a token representing an asset, however, I don't like it when the government interferes with a cryptocurrency - in Ethereum's case, I am not comfortable with Vitalik discussing many things with Vlad, that's why I choose bitcoins over anything else.

I prefer Etherium for short term investments and Bitcoin for long term investments. Both are considered to be good as an investment or asset because the profit are huge from investing into each of it. I prefer Bitcoin more because of its much larger market value compared to ETH since its market price increases and as it increase, the profit also increases.

I prefer BTC on ETH because bitcoin is base currency in crypto market and first choice for every investor if he want to enter crypto market. ETH is second preference but it also have in your portfolio due to many ICO issue ERC20 tokens and it require payment mode as ETH.

They are both excellent to get and will continue to grow but I prefer ethereum and expect it to grow considerably in value in the future. Right now it is speculative but as the ICO smartcontract projects get completed it will become more valuable because ethereum is the power that drives the whole blockchain and demand will increase.

The transaction time is just too fast especially if you are looking to cash out when you have both btc and ETH
