I have moved my Bitcoins from Electrum wallet A to Electrum Wallet B and the transaction has 10 confirmations but it still appears as "not verified". Is this normal? I'm quite worried about it.

I need help with claiming my BCC. I have tried the following...

1. Sent my btc to bittrex from electrum wallet (v. 2.8.3) - done
2. Exported my electrum wallet (private key) to .json file - done
3. Downloaded and installed electroncash 2.9.0 - done
4. created a new wallet in electroncash by importing the .json file fom my old electrum wallet. - not sure if i did this correctly but I am able to see my transaction history but the balance shows 0 mBCC.

Any help is appreciated.

Quick question about splitting Bitcoin Cash from Bitcoin with Electrum Cash.

Is it advisable not to install Electrum Cash after Electrum 2.9.0 has already been installed? In this instance, can I not just create a new wallet in Electrum, move my funds from the wallet that has been forked to the new one, than use my private keys from my empty post-fork Electrum wallet in Electrum Cash?

Is Electrum and all it's wallets compromised since Electrum Cash has been installed? Will I lose my access or something happen to my Bitcoin in my new Electrum wallet with new seed/new private key if I use my post hard-forked private key in Electrum Cash on a machine installed with both Electrum and Electrum Cash...?

The reason people ask you to install Electrum Cash in a new machine is because Electrum Cash hasn't been widely vetted yet, and the binaries are signed by somebody whose real world identity is not known. That constitutes a risk.

Can anyone please explain the steps to recover BCH from Blockchain.info wallets? I have the private key (in text format) and the 12 word backup phrase with me, but don't know how to use them.

You will need to export the addresses.

Previously I have exported addressed from one Blockchain.info wallet to another (we have to provide the private key for that). Is this one going to be similar? If so, which online wallet should I use for Bitcoin Cash?

This could explain why my BCC first appeared then disappeared. So electrocash is bugged or I don't know what I am doing.

I am waiting for the arrival of my ledger nano s.  I though that they had in a built in coin splitter, so my plan was just to re-seed the ledger nano s  from my blockchain.info wallet.  that would accomplish the same thing for all addresses in the blockchain wallet and then creates two wallets on the ledger nano s, no?

That sounds plausible, but I don't know enough about how the nano S works to say for sure.

Hello I followed this exactly and I did even see 20 BCC in my wallet but was showing a unconfirmed parent warning I closed the wallet and opened it again and the BCC coins disappeared, what can I do, import the keys? or have I been scammed by the software where can I see where the coins were sent too?

Or is there someone sort of delay?

The same thing happened to me. Did you figure this out yet?

The problem is when you received your BTC in your electrum wallet? It should before the split time.

July 2017 Was a bad month for some of us. Lost 50% of my total net worth. But learned a lot from the trauma. I am glad everything is back to normal.

Are you trolling?

If we are talking about bitcoin, then you need to explain how a loss of 50% could have happened because we entered July $2400/$2500 and exited bouncing between $2700 and $2900..  yeah there was a dip to $1830, but in the overall assessment, July was up for bitcoin holders, no?  So, whatever you did seems particular to you, rather than any general bitcoin topic or even one that is related to this forking matter, no?

Oh, and regarding the forking matter, even though OP acknowledges that this fork seems to be transitioning fairly smoothly, it is way too early to see how some of these pricing matters are going to play out - and surely by the end of August, we will have some decent ideas - even though it appears that there are quite a few balls in the air for August...

Obviously he was holding shitcoins and probably bought at the peak (ETH). Either that or ICOs.

I'm dumping my BCH once I have a chance to figure out how to send it to an exchange. I want to pass on this hot potato and get a 15-20% increase on my bitcoin balance. That's a hell of a lot more than I thought it was going to be! I assumed max 5%.

Anyone wanting the exact block numbers of the fork:

The last shared block before the fork was 478558 - 2017-08-01 13:16:49 UTC

The fork was at block 478559

Bitcoin's 478559 block was at 2017-08-01 13:23:34 UTC

Cashcow's 478559 block was much, much later

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=789369.msg20549684#msg20549684

Edit: thus any transactions you sent on Bitcoin that were confirmed in or after block 478559, have nothing to do with the other side of the fork.

It's a little to risky to move the coins for the Bitcoin Cash assets until a simpler form of transaction is made, I'll let the brave and venturous take advantage of any trading premium and advantages that occur during the transition. I would be concerned about replay on the core keys for now given the replay risks.

That said thanks for giving the relative all clear Theymos it's good to know that we are safe yet again from the issues of the hard fork
and that community consensus was successful after all the drama with a bit of turbulence left.

Thanks for the guide. You could also create a new user account on the computer. To summarize it simply:

1) Backup current wallet, to later be used for the Bitcoin Cash program.
2) Send all Bitcoins to a newly created address that is not in the backed up wallet. You may want to back up that wallet or save the private key of the newly created address separately so that all your eggs aren't in one basket if your hard drive breaks.
3) Create a new user account and make sure your operating system's security updates are current.
4) Install Bitcoin Cash in the new account. Run it and import the wallet that you backed up. Do not give it access to the new address that you sent your Bitcoins to! If Bitcoin Cash has a backdoor in it, it should be confined to that user account and it won't have access to the wallet that contains the address where you sent all your Bitcoins too.

It seems like Bittrex has credited the users with BCC. But how long is it going to take for the trade option to appear?

Edit: My bad. it is possible to trade using BTC in Bittrex. I just logged in to Bittrex, and the BTC-BCH trade option is already there. Right now, the exchange rate is 1BCH = BTC0.18753959.
