Because the instructions are a pain in the fucking ass. I wish I had just sent all my btc to bittrex prior to the 1st, but I listened to all the stupid bs about making sure your btc wasn't on any exchange.

Keeping coins on exchange is a risk that gives you rewards.

Risks: exchange gets hacked, exit scam, loss of funds due to network disruptions from problematic forks, etc. etc.

Reward: being able to trade without delays, access to limited markets.

The decision is always yours, if you are unsatisfied with advises from other people, than do your own research.

Well said!  I find that, for my N00b friends, buying, selling & trading on an exchange is the simplest way to go, by far.  Learning curve is 1/10 what it is in the Wild West.
I have many friends who are interested in BTC but have 0 techie aptitude. Exchanges are the way on on-board these peeps & BTC merchants.

If they're doing this with pocket money why not. The problem is people putting real money into crypto without any understanding of what they are.

And not realizing that any crypto related service can disappear from one day to the next due to various reasons, something that wouldn't happen with stock trading or forex trading.

Yes, good point.  My friends and I are basically BTC hobbyists.

It was such a relief knowing that August 1 does not make any changes on bitcoin price.  I was kind of pessimistic when July ends and a bit sad that I do not know where to get another way to increase my income.  Thankfully nothing happened and my life with bitcoin continues.

I agree with what Theymos has here said. But, I do anticipate a successful journey for Bitcoin Cash, considering the support it has from key interests.

You're wrong. But we can't check since you don't give any real information.

My btc core wallet held 1.09 more btc than both the bitcoin and bitcoin cash blockchains showed. I sent all of them to the blockchain.info wallet successfully, so I know they were there. I don't have an explanation, assuming I'm telling the truth is there any?
Try to run both wallets with the 'rescan' option and your coins may reappear.
If that doesn't help compare the transaction to blickchain.info with the amounts (per address) present in your bcash wallet to locate the missing one - it may happen that it is a transaction after the split

Here's where I'm at; I deleted my old core wallet and keys and my new core wallet is currently syncing. I have my old wallet backed up on a usb stick. Will a rescan work if I insert the the old wallet.dat file in the new wallet once it has synced?

There was no reason to delete your old Core setup. If you want to transact BCH, then you should run a Bitcoin ABC node with a separate datadir in addition to your Core node.

Any special speculation threads for BCH please? I think I can't discuss them here.
Still if somebody could help, just tell me when the hell will this BullshitCash ever get pumped back? Now I am in a totally "fucked up" condition due to its price going 1/4th the price where I bought. Is it ever going to make that high or even my buy price (BTC0.21) back or is it a dream anyways?

I'm curious: Why did you buy it? Why did so many people buy it? Is it pure speculation, like most altcoins, without knowing what's really behind it?
I wish I could have sold at that price, I only got my 20 confirmations just now, and sold just under BTC0.07. During the 30 hour wait for confirmations, I saw the price drop with every confirmation. That just means many people want to cash out.

Long term I can imagine the price in dollars will go up again, when the Bitcoin price goes up much higher. I'd be surprised if the price in Bitcoin goes up much.

yeah it work i tried, with some wallet on cold storage usb stick, but i have a question, the bitcoin that i send to the address that hold coin before the frork, will not be counted as a reward for bcc right?

I started an abc wallet and it looked like it was going to take weeks for the chain to download.I also didn't want to piss my wife off as it was on her laptop.
This whole thing is very confusing, and by the time I get them confirmed they will probably be worthless anyway. It's been 26 hours and they are 15/20 confirmations why the hell didn't I put my btc on trex before the 1st? I wish I knew that would work.

I hate to throw salt into your wound but honestly, didn't you realize there will be like 16 million free bch out there? free, as in like not even bounties just free, althought they are a pita to get on the exchange.
I think it will pump someday, but after a long and tortuous bear period. How many btc did you throw at it? was it all of them? Idk what to tell you other than I've done stupid things as we all have, it's only money you still have your health blah blah blah.

Without knowing? Not like that because I knew that "Bitmain" was going to support this and they changed their mind all of a sudden because of which this got screwed. About confirmations, it is obvious it will take hours because a very less number of miners are mining it as well as supporting it. I still feel there will be a price rise for this before everyone starts to dump it down hard below even 100 sats but we will definitely see it.

If you bought BCC then I fear you will have to put the trade down as lost or at best wait a very very long time to recoup the losses.

Long time but till when? Can anyone speculate about that too?
I am scared myself why the hell did I even believe in this crap coin! I believe I did it just because it emerged from Bitcoin itself and is going to run with it hand in hand and seeing support of some big companies made me think that this will be something for at least a few days but it proved a nightmare for me.

If it were me I'd dump and move on but I have no patience and the sight of it going down lower each day would just make things worse.
Typically the moves I make are the wrong ones, so do the oppositte of what i would do would probably be your best choice.

To be honest, I think when people with multisig (people who have more chances to habe big wallet) will be able to make transaction (cause its not possible for the moment  Angry Angry), BCH will go down for a a while. You will have a lot of sellers for the same number of buyers...

I bet it will go under 150$. But not sure, if I was I would have short it but don't know what can do some people to manipulate the market  Grin

That's what I would do too. Cut the losses and pump whatever cash you have left from the sell back into something more profitable - BTC, ETH, STRATIS, SC, or MAID.
