[DBL] Doubloons: Pirate Currency

Every time I restart the wallet there are more and more blocks that need updating. The wallet will connect to 1-2 maybe 3 nodes only for brief periods of time at the beginning, then loose the connection to all of them. I believe it will try to reconnect unsuccessfully every now and then if I let it open, because I see the connection status icon flashing.
I use all the node IPs I could find on the forums, including the initial one, and that of some P2P pool I found.

It's hopeless... every time I restart the wallet it will no longer sync. I have to delete the entire blockchain and rebuild it in order for the wallet to sync. Too bad... I like this coin, but my patience has ended.

If all you want is to mine the coin then you can send your mined coins directly from the pool to an exchange without having to have your wallet to sync. Exchanges run optimized versions of the wallets and my guess is that you won't have any problems.

The problem is that you assume you are on the correct fork. Considering the fact that this coin is pretty much dead, or dying, the correct fork should be considered the one that the exchanges are on. If cryptsy is on the same fork as the explorer, then I'm sorry to say but that is the correct fork. Unless you can convince Cryptsy devs to change their wallet on your fork.

You will all have to make a decision: Either keep mining on your fork and probably never be able to exchange the coins, or delete your local blockchain, re-sync on the Cryptsy fork, and give up a few days worth of mining, but have the ability to keep trading.

The choice is yours.

hmm..

This coin is constantly running on a low total hash rate. I wouldn't be surprised if it has gotten forked at some point. I'm pretty sure that the block explorer is not actively being maintained.

Assuming that this blockexplorer (http://explorer.doubloons.net/chain/Doubloons) was on the same chain with Cryptsy's wallet recently, I succesfully synced my DBL client using blockexplorer node 70.98.114.237.

Will see how it goes.

I run the explorer at http://explorer.doubloons.net. I haven't paid much attention to doubloons in quite a while. If it's on a fork I'd be curious to find out where the good fork is.

EDIT: For what it's worth, I sent some coins from the block explorer to Cryptsy so they seem to be on the same chain.

Doubloons are actually heavily undervalued and under- rated. 8 million total, with only 1,4 million mined thusfar? Then with low block rewards, even people late to the game can mine some. And it already has an exchange, I always wondered wether the developer might popup after he holds alot of coins. And pumps the coin community wise
