Old settings was 5s share time - very unfriendly for ASICs. Now it is 20s.
New share chain data, delete shares.* files from data directory after git pull.

Just to make sure, I've been stung a few times by crooked coins, is there any substantial crookedness in Doubloons history?

The announcement was May 15 xx:23 pm.
The first block seems to have had 6.77 dbl and was mined May 15 at xx:09 pm.
About 30 blocks were mined, 200 dbl or so, then a couple minute gap when I guess Shakezula posted?
So there seems to be
1) no premine, just some blocks mined to get it started at launch
2) no special rewards for early miners, an even payout through today, extremely unusual in early coins.

I'm going to make a page on the site detailing any negatives I can find about doubloons, since that is the first thing a person should look for. So far all of the negatives are trivial and boil down to slackiness. Unupdated wallets, etc. Is there some major negative aside from that?

Is the wallet so overdue for an update that it's vulnerable to the heartbleed bug? Any wallets long overdue for an update are vulnerable.

I will try to compile my fork on windoze.
When Litecoin push v0.10 final code I will try to fork it like I did to 0.8

My fork is for everyone. It simply moves coin code to litecoin 0.8
It is compiling properly and working good under Linux. I'm using it since I make it.
I will try to compile it under windows, just to make coin accessible for everyone.

my post was half in jest, dbl was/is an honest coin, with no funny business surrounding it, was done more for fun, but yeah honest enough if people get behind it to be a great crypto.

i like it but its always been difficult to obtain a decent amount, small block rewards and I guess pirates are often hoarders

Finally, after 2 days of struggle, use really good tutorial (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=149479.740), lots of googling for errors and many tears, I have made Windoze binary for my shiny Doubloons!

Used my fork code https://github.com/Rav3nPL/doubloons-08 and main dependencies:

QT 5.4.1

ZIP archive contains doubloonsd.exe, doubloons-qt.exe, example config file (not really needed) and modified makefiles I used to make it roll (if someone want to compile by herself).

edit2: some glitch, but it stores all block correcntry then sync to network properly.

I've updated the faucet and block crawler to use the 0.12.0.0 client and also updated the syncing help guide for the download links for the client and bootstrap.

Brilliant ideas. No success with getting any websites on board, neither with giveaways, so my project is suspended until I am in a place with more resources. Doubloons is grossly undervalued but its day will come.

Probably some dirty shutdown. Try remove peers.dat
If not work, remove all except wallet. On closed wallet ofc. Remember to backup wallet file. What version RU using?

i was on old version , updated just now hoever my coins are lost any ideas?
is this a new fork or something ?
cuz old wallet worked just fine with sending coins to cryptsy

If your wallet file is not corrupted badly your conis are not lost.
Just make backup and see in debug.log what exactly is going on.
Last resort is download block chain.

Looks like http://explorer.doubloons.net died 3 days ago, my faucet is still sending out coins which are getting confirmations. I expect Cryptsy and http://explorer.doubloons.net both locked up at the same point.
