Is it even possible to destroy a GPU just by using a hacked driver? I don't think so.

I know its possible to destory a GPU by a bios flash where it can alter the voltages and fry the card.

On a driver level? No sure.

Well, I think that you can destroy it. If you put some dumb values and it's not check via Wattman it could burn the GPU.

does anyone else get hash drops on one card? when using one card it works great, but with 2 or more cards i get drops on one card

This is perfectly normal when you connect a screen to your rig or do a remote session. Usually the GPU with the screen or that does the rendering will get a hashrate drop for a few cycles. This driver does it just like every other driver I have used.

I've been using this driver fix on one 470 rig for about a week now, no problem to report.

The only reason I'm not deploying it further, is the hassle of having to control voltages with a 3rd party software like AB or Trixx. I could do it through BIOS, but I just don't have time to go to all my rigs and flash all my cards. I'm waiting for a Claymore update to get this deployed further on my rigs.

Dear friends, I would like to share with you fix for well known DAG problem on RX polaris graphics cards, taken from unofficial beta driver of AMD.


INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Download driver.

Install driver via Device manager, right click on your card and point to unpacked folder what you previously download from one of the links above.

2. Install well known patcher (atikmdag-patcher), link below.

3. Restart your RIG.

IMPORTANT: You must use Clymore's Dual latest version, at the moment v9.8.
If you want to use AB for clock to then you must download and install latest beta 16 version, but first you need to uninstall version you are using, also delete all the files in ProgramFiles.
Tested, confirmed, AB 4.4.0 beta16 working fine.

I personally test on all RX models, from my experience RX470/480 no problem. I put this driver on really huge pool and what to tell you guys, hash result is awesome.
Tested on win10 on all rigs.

this is well an good but most mining rigs are only used to for mining, this is only a danger to ppl who mine on thier main PC with wallets etc

As long as you never forget to never mine solo or have wallets in computers installed this driver then i say you are good to go.

Fui atualizar o driver e fala que já esta atualizado, usava o driver 16.9
Achei que fosse o driver que eu usava e atualizei pro 17.7.1 e agora nem reconhece os card. Como atualizar? Me ajudem sou noob nisso.

just an update.

main issue is the temp and undervolting, i rolled back my previous driver due to temperature issue.

i am having below 60C temp in all my cards before i installed this. and then after mining 24hrs with this driver the temo spiked from 60-75.

perhaps this is because of the hashrate that this driver provides.. well, i cant sacrifice may GPU's just for 2Mhs each card.

clean install windows / reflashed my cards then used the driver dated June. forgot the version sorry..

You all cry about loosing hashrate, sometime you have 29 sometime 15, and big temperature...guess what that driver is backdoored and it is mining for him in background sometimes/dunno how often, but that is my opinion.
As i allready said, someone who know how to code driver, knows best way to hide .mal code into it

You guys know that this driver is signed right? You can't hack a signed driver. It's just not WHQL certified. So it's a beta, like most AMD drivers today. But you can wait for it to appear on AMD.com website. Probably when VEGA launches (tomorow)

Is it really signed? Because in the instructions it says to apply the patch. No idea if its actually signed or not.

In my case.... this drive work very well only with rx480 (asus, xfx and sapphire - all 8gb)
with RX 580 (sapphire and msi) i lose ability to adjust volts (and msi AB beta does not work)

It is signed, otherwise you would have to install it in test mode. It says you have to apply the patch because most people have modded their cards bios, and you will get error 43 if you don't patch the driver.

driver seems to work fine with me with the beta of after burner altough sometimes voltage does not show the change , ill try the claymore commands on an overheating rig

You definitely need skill and patience here. I was working on my friend's computers and I can say that. He himself could not do it. I had to, however he paid me to hehe
