i really start to wonder if there is really a development in progress. the forum is quiet dead too.... https://talk.mvt.io/

also, the twitter account is pretty dead: https://twitter.com/MovementDAO

The Movement cannot die which is one of the beautiful qualities of a decentralized autonomous organization.  That being said, the foundation has been built but it's up to community members to explore and run with it. This can sometimes be hard while there is no central authority.

I've been quiet, hoping to spur involvement from the community, but I've never stopped.

I don't think anyone has.

No is not yet on coinmarketcap, however today next exchange released i guide on how to use the exchange.

https://medium.com/nextexchange/how-to-use-next-exchange-4138401f2500

As far as i understand didn't go in release yet, as i didn't see any announcement, but i didn't try it to verify it either.
If anybody is familiar with it and can cofirm.

It's strange that it's still not on CMC after so much time. Now CMC doesn't require any more a certain volume of traffic to list coins, so perhaps it could be an indea to try to submit The Movement again to their attention.

I agree with you and i add that imo there is no hurry, with the coming of Decentraland everything will get more clear for us as well and maybe more people will join and help.

It need to be listed in at least two exchanges already supported by coinmarketcap, so for the moment is a no go.

Well, there can't be just a few people posting, there has to be more freedom of expression.    We have some documents, and maybe people aren't reading what's been written.   I am not sure where the paper that was written is now.  Anyone?

All the information and community related proposal made by the community that were created so far, are in GitHub here: https://github.com/MovementDAO
I believe Decentraland will have good impact in bringing the attention of more people to the Movement, when they will release a stable version.

Some projects need a lot of time to realize there have been cases in which some projects have also taken a couple of years to be recognized as valid and innovative, everything depends on the participation of people, patience is the Key.

I also think that this project really needs its place in Decentraland. right now it is only some people on message boards but if you add VR it could become something bigger.

Sure, I agree.  However, some of us want to get more away from computers, phones, tablets, and more into the real world outside of a screen, like meeting at cafes.  So, while this may be the biggest part, it shouldn't be exclusively Decentraland.

I did some economic writing right when the recession started that I would like to share with the group.  Maybe using the Movement based on more of these ideas of economic empowerment and cryptocurrency might be fruitful:

New Economy from Nineteen New Educational Principles
Concepts for Economic Empowerment by Robert Pearson

1) We need to focus on educating each other. Adult education is actually where the biggest change can come which can prevent disaster. Unfortunately, television is what has been educating most people in the last several years, and it has only gotten worse and worse in many ways. These forces have combined with popular music, and have created much culture without any wisdom or beauty.

2) We need to see people as "asleep" instead of evil. If we see them as merely asleep to what bad they are doing when they harm others, even economically, then they may have a chance to be educated towards a possibility for change.

3) Not appreciating all that one has, puts things in a state of entropy, and then these things lose their value. One has to always "polish" what one has, take care of what one has, organize one's belongings, or things lose their potential.

4) Not seeing the service aspect of working, and not putting into full practice the idea that we have to give before we can get. This creates a "vacuum" and the universe abhors a vacuum and seeks to fill it. If we carefully create the right service or value, wealth can flow in. If we do not create any true vacuum of service or value, nothing will flow in.

5) Aim to end planned obsolescence, and by doing so boost American or any other country's economy. If we could outlaw the sale of cheap products that are sold without warranty, we would create a new industry in America of making high-quality goods. Cheap products are essentially, or eventually, worthless. If there was legislation that one could not sell a product without a minimum three year warranty, this would be considered a green law, since products that soon turn to garbage would end up in landfills. We could build new small industries in the U.S. or other countries. Think of what this would do to the U.S. morale, or the morale of any other country.

6) We have to get out of the "specialization" field. Most of us have a vested interest in the modern world to be "seen as a specialist" and charge fees based on that. In some, way, shape or form, virtually everyone's resume reflects this, from a dishwasher to a airplane pilot. However, that has no longer allowed most of us to have the money, leisure, or other standards of living which we want to live.

7) Buy from those who will buy from you. For example, many ethnic groups in the United States empower each other by forming economic networks in which each person does a different type of business and they all buy from each other. This prevents money going outside the network into anonymous large corporations.

Cool Befriend and humanize by repeated consistent and loving effort, all the bureaucracies. Even bureaucracies are composed of people who have backroom office talk and talk there just as normally as everyone else. The bureaucracy is the face that they have to show to the public. Don't say, that they have to show that face to keep that job. That is determining the future based on imagination. A major principle in mind to keep is that any organization can be in danger of acting like a big bureaucracy.

9) Things only blossom if there is enough knowledge to fertilize these new things. We will not as easily shift into alternate energies, unless there is a threshold of people who understand these new technologies, or understand the marketplace aspects of them. This is one important part of public energy. Already, the solar sector in the U.S. has shown huge profits and Europe is far, far ahead of the United States.

10) The energy problem affects us more than just at the gas pump or paying the electric bill. For instance, in 2008, those in the United States who sold on eBay could no longer ship things surface rate in international shipping. This reduced their sales by a substantial amount, especially if there were wealthier people in other countries who may not be as affected by a recession. This truly would have a trickle down effect, if those sellers would have more money.

11) Many new jobs only need be responsible for creating value, because a system of barter has already worked in many economies. Think of senior homes/low income home improvements. Seniors could help with baby sitting as younger parents could help with home repair.

12) Not connecting to the greater sources of money (corporations, high paying clients) for some of our business sales, and instead focusing on the general public. The general public's eyes are owned by big media and big corporations. It is very hard to sell a new product no matter how valuable and good it is. We have to see where we can use these big groups, and where they are using us.

13) We are always wealthier if we do what we are able to do in our own part. If we have excuses that involve other people, that someone should do for us what we can do for ourselves, that somehow we were the victim of someone else, then we are always playing the child or victim role and things cannot improve.

14) We should be focusing on "creating value" not only "earning money." For example, imagine digging up some of one's lawn area and preparing the area for a nut and fruit tree orchards and other gardening area. This will create a substantial amount of "wealth" each year for one's household without having to bring in more money to buy things. There are many such improvements one can make and even invent for other people. There are low income but ready now electric car conversions that people have done for virtually every make of car.

15) Corporations and large institutions like governments, universities, hospitals and so on, are the part of the world that has the money, and that is where we can focus on professionally. If we focus on selling to the smaller business community, there may not be as much money. It is also harder to reach a large amount of the general public today as bigger corporations have the main eye of the public due to advertising money.

16) One can do philanthropy without any money by tocusing on educating other adults. One can do this online by going into areas such as social networking, traffic exchanges, safelists, toplists, webrings, and so on. This circulation of knowledge is free and also stress free.

17) Networking, and creating work collectives to achieve a common purpose, is a great idea, and no one can call such small groups derogatory names in a free market capitalist system. It is hard to network with the "general public" in America today, but if you focus on networking with your interest groups, you can more easily find people that you can form some kind of lasting connection with. For instance, groups that like to be together are musicians, people who like fishing, antique, coin or any kind of collector, seniors, teenagers, and so on.

18) We need to see our romantic partnerships as "creating new families" where even two people are a family. Then these two people are for each other, operating as a team, two heads can are better than one, and two can live as cheaply as one, and if they are both employed, they can be more wealthy. The media marketplace tends to only be able to show the romantic aspect, and condition people to believe in imaginary aspects of human perfection. Whether or not there is a planned marketing plan to try to get people to think independently or not is irrelevant, especially if we take the position that people are asleep to the harm they do to others and ultimately to themselves.

19) Need to remember all the high paying work we have done successfully If we are continuously looking at self-help material instead of focusing on and doing our work, then how can we provide any value in the community?

I have lost track on what happening with Next.Exchange, So we cannot expect MVT tokens to ride with the bull in case it happens soon.

We really need some real exchange website Etherdelta/ForkDelta is not a good viable options to trade. Crex24 is a good start

I don't want to be overly negative but there won't be a bull run anytime soon and trading on an exchange won't do much either if there is no large enough community interested in it.

I do agree that availability on exchange without support and proper adoption with use case was making much worse situation. It is said whatever happens is with reason. Like someone mentioned above situation returning to normal will take time. The movement if can be used for something real it will make its place in spite of all these uncertainties and rolling here and there.

A lot of coins pay for participation.  I don't mean just bounties, but for participating on forums, and so on.   Maybe we will have to do something like that.  It could work like crowdfunding.  Those with some MVT to spare could send MVT to an address that would pay for members to contribute to the forum, or something else.  They could post their address.  The problem is with gas though, which must have gotten much cheaper with ETH declining, but still not almost free as it would be in a non-ETH coin.

Parting with Decentraland

TLDR: Decentraland's ideals have changed radically compared to the time of its original token sale, which results in the Greenpoint district to be dissolved. Contributed MANA tokens will be refunded. The Movement continues.

When The Movement's vision was born in 2017, we set out on a mission to create Greenpoint — a virtual meeting point for grassroots activity. A place collectively created from the ground up by people from all around the world with the great aim to bring about new opportunities for all.

Believing it to be a good fit, we chose Decentraland to build upon, which presented itself as a user-owned and truly decentralized virtual world powered by the Ethereum blockchain. Our belief remains unchanged that combining both blockchain and virtual reality technology is a very captivating idea, as well as a great challenge to work on. In the Decentraland Terraform Event, 414,000 MANA tokens were staked to our district plan by various contributors, which resulted in the 414 LAND parcels that make up Greenpoint in the project's Genesis City. It is both unfortunate and sad that today we announce that our experience with their leadership has been the actual opposite of decentralized. As an unchangeable consequence we are parting with their platform.

At the time of district creation, there was never any mention of having to sign legal contracts or being forced to perform KYC — after all, this is in direct opposition to the very ideals of the platform itself. As time progressed, Decentraland's stance has changed radically, eventually leading to forcing district creators to sign a legal contract with their Cayman-island based company "Metaverse Holdings Ltd.", enforcing KYC identity verification, as well as setting up very specific rules for Land transfer. Not only did we not receive any clarification as to why and how these rules were not clearly set in the first place, but any and all of our requests to talk about this were ignored.

Neither have we been able to meet their central leadership's demands nor have we been able to meet their deadlines. On top of that, the Decentraland team itself has been unable to adequately fulfill their obligations. In fact, their project's roadmap has been altered, and timeframes have been delayed. At the time of their initial coin offering — in which they raised $24,000,000 — the project promoted its "Iron Age" — including multiplayer support with avatars and live chat, custom items and scripting on user-owned land for Q4 2017, as well as its "Silicon Age", a full-fledged 3D world with full VR support for 2018. It is now early December of 2018 and except for a platform to trade Land tokens, nothing of this has been released to the public. Despite not having sufficiently developed and published the platform as promised, they are now running a second Land sale and have announced via their Discord chat channel that several districts, including our own, will be dissolved.

The entire experience reflects the worst of centralization: users and contributors have very little to nothing to say. Decisions are largely made for the profit of and by those in charge, whom it is either very difficult or impossible to talk with. We have been trying to contact the project's leaders, Ariel Meilich and Esteban Ordano for weeks to talk about the matter and understand their position, but except for one short and cynic reply by Ariel were unfortunately ignored. Sincere thanks go out to Ember Snook, their district community manager, who has been genuinely trying to help as much as possible but is (in our view) in a very unfavorable position.

On a brighter side, we feel fortunate to have realized all of this now, rather than running into deeper and more demanding issues in the future. Decentraland states that district contributor's MANA will be refunded, yet they do not state an exact date as to when this will happen. After having waited for too long we now post this announcement without this much-needed information and hope that they will make an announcement as soon as they possibly can. However, even though we are not happy about having been unexpectedly and negatively hit by these changes, and despite personal regret of having chosen the platform, we wish everyone interested in Decentraland's further development well. We also hope for both their team, as well as their community at large, to be able to realize their plans over the long term. May the Decentraland platform be released to the public and ultimately be run not in a centralized but decentralized fashion.

This is not the end for The Movement but its first big challenge. The time has come to reinvent. And as an early motto of The Movement enthusiastically described — it is time to connect and create. As a project that stands on the pillars of true decentralization, that didn't raise any money — we are still here in the same spirit, which is to build together from the ground up. Greenpoint, the meeting point for grassroots movements, as well as the fully decentralized organization "The Movement", that continues to stand behind its vision, are not designed to be subject to central control or radical mission changes that go against its own nature. It is the very spirit of decentralization and borderless collaboration that makes up its core. If you are reading this, you are likely still here because you were interested in this idea. Ideas have no borders.

Let's continue to work on the realization of something that is larger than mere individual benefit — something that aims at transcending borders and boundaries. Each one of us remains to have the power to participate. Together we can make things happen, and we can continue to strive for making a positive difference. Thank you to all who are still here. You know who you are. Please do not hesitate to share your thoughts and opinions related to this posting, and related to the project.

in such a market it will be difficult to find large investors. but the fact that they continue to do development is a big plus. many teams have already raised their hands up and they still continue to develop, which sooner or later will lead to success.

Dropper thank you for dropping(Smiley) by and clarify the situation, i heard there were problems but i didn't know/understand what were exactly and how severe was the situation.

I think this is not necessarily a bad thing, we have the unique chance now to actually look, find and decide what is going to be the best alternative, as a platform, to fit the Movement  Wink
