Bets seem slower since most recent maintenance ...

Bets are slower for sure. Response time from PD3 (which was also slow) is down a lot. Will update with how many ms it went down exactly once I find the previous times saved somewhere on my desktop.

Might be the main problem with PD.

Bets are slow indeed. And that's really strange because the faster the bets the more they earn, I don't understand why they don't upgrade seriously the site for that. Because compared to betking or betcoin they're slow :/

Rolling speed depend on bet amount if your bet is lower than 10k satoshis than you can say this, I just rolled some rolls there with 10k base bet amount and it went with normal speed like before, maybe it can be due low connectivity speed too.

OP has refused to answer me despite the fact that I have asked him multiple times here and on PD chat. Yes they could upgrade hardware/hosting, but they don't.. I've probably asked all dice site owners the same thing at some point in the past, and usually the answer is that it costs too much to upgrade, but those sites (FD, JD, FJ, Bitsler) roll speeds are overall a lot faster than PD. PD is certainly not low on funds if they can hold a 20BTC giveaway (bingo). Also this is a problem for most players on PD, or rather an annoyance.

Bets seem slower since most recent maintenance ...

Let me know if this persists.

Yes Stunna, it's still persisting .. Been persisting for many months now.

Since PD is not a professional managed site we cannot complain about all this I think, we just give our money to guys who are making millions with their hobby and hope on the best outcome.
p.s. If PD is really a full-time job for any of the devs, than I'm sorry but your performance is horrible.

I fully agree, if i did my job 5 times better than the PD devs i would still get fired.

I still visit the site every now and then just because i knew some people there and share some tips with them, but i've been taking my coins to other sites for a while now (even before the current horrible changes). The weirdest thing is that only the front-end has changed a lot and not the backend (as it seems) still they managed to screw that up as well which seems a bit odd.

I still wonder how this topic ends.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1546299.0

Edward had reason to suspect you for  other reasons than you turning 0.01 into 80 coins there was an unusual circumstance to do with your win otherwise. He held your cashout and asked for additional information (not something I would have done personally but I stand by it) so he could in good mind process your withdrawal. There has never been a situation where we required information in order to push a withdrawal, only to potentially speed up. Your win is under investigation and will be paid if no foul play is found, if you had provided information it would have been processed on the spot.

In the past Ed did this with a user hufflepuff who refused to give information, he was cashed out for 2400 in wins despite not providing information. You were sent half your payment and I ask that you remain patient for the remainder while we investigate your case. I'll also be discussing this matter with Edward as I think him asking for that sort of information is not useful regardless and it sets a bad precedent.

You will likely be paid within the day

OP still didn't hear back from PD.  Undecided

In my opinion, overall bets speeds on PD4 are much faster than PD3, especially if you disable the Animations.  The difficult thing about increasing bet speed even more, something Stunna has discussed several times in this thread, and people often forget, is that, it would be possible to increase bet speed, but highly costly.

Sure, other sites like Just-Dice and BetKing and whatever, have faster bets, but they have nowhere near the volume of bets PD does.  Primedice has close to 12 Billion bets made, with Millions made each day, those other sites have only a fraction of the bet volume.

Upgrading hardware to increase bet speed is already costly, but due to the sheer number of bets that PD processes per day, it would most likely be extremely expensive, if not completely cost ineffective.

More bets = more wagered = more profit then other sites as well.

Why is this left out the equation?

More bets = more wagered = more profit then other sites as well.

Why is this left out the equation?
More bets doesn't necessarily = more wagered if the bets are dust or only small fractions of BTC.

Let's say you have 100 users running bots with a base bet of 100 satoshi, and bet speed is hiked to 3 bets per second.  100 x 0.00000100 x 3 = 0.0003 wagered BTC per second, now let's multiply that into a per day basis, so 0.0003 x 60 x 60 x 24 = 25 BTC wagered in a 24-hour period.

Obviously some people will have a much higher base that 100 satoshi or a high increase on loss or whatever, but even if your theoretical increase in wagered per day was 100-200 BTC, multiply that by the 1% House Edge and you get 1-2 BTC income from the potential bet speed gain per day, and that's only if people lose statistically to the House Edge, excluding outliers.

So from a math standpoint, you're looking at a POSSIBLE, if not highly improbable (taking into account HR winners, people with bots that succeed instead of lose, and counting outliers) gain of 1-2 bct per day, and the cost of upgrading the hardware to match a 3 bet per second standard even with PD's sheer bet volume is probably 50-100x that amount.

So arguably, not worth it, at least not yet.

CPU usage since upgrade. I usually play on a 4 core 2.8 ghz system with 8 gb of ram, just a laptop.

Since the upgrade, I opened Windows Task Manager and looked at performance. Firefox (only page open is PD) is using 40% of the overall CPU. Thats pretty high for being on a website right? I mean, considering that the bet has to be hashed on their end (as the user doesnt have the server seed), why does it tie up nearly half my system?

When not betting/auto-rolling, firefox usage drops to roughly 0-1%.

I have animations turned off btw.

PD is currently in it's daily downtime/offline, but just thought I'd ask if anyone else noticed the cpu issue since the new launch.

Have to change our seed again? That stopped me from hunting 9900x with +12k reds. This happened to me twice so far. In the past I did the same hunt and got more than 25k reds and suddently they forced me to change the seed. And now, it happened again! I dont wont to get the same problem again in the future, so I wont hunt 9900x again at Primedice!

Develop new method that doesnt need to wait too much rolls to win! x100 or x990 maybe better!

Yea, I see no reason why if they are transfering over the database (as in the site) including the bet logs, history, etc, why they can't just transfer the seeds over as well.

Such a small piece of data when when looking at the big picture of whats in their rolls database. But they do seed changes from time to time. Perhaps they see a win coming that is too big.
