I thought things were running smoothly but...

Mining solo and about 16:21 (I did not get exact time) one of my miners had the message go across that it found a block for pool 0. Woohoo, showed accepted, but still has not hit my wallet. There is one there for 16:11 I have not seen this happen before.  Also it seems I am only finding about 1/2 as many blocks today as yesterday. I know difficulty changes but it would appear I may have another issue going on. Any ideas?

Using cgminer.

How is http://www.digitalcoinpool.com/ running for you, it looks like it also pays to little like other pools on this software. My payout in the end was 0.4 when i had like 7-10% of pool power.

I will let you know in a day or two.  Payout is always little in the beginning.  You think every pools pay little because you don't stick around long enough.

-tb-

Was mining 24h straight on digi.cryptcoins , should be enough, my friend did the same and also got about half of what he should, now i'm looking for something reliable because that wasn't.  Mining there right now but getting a lot of rejects, about 20%. Hope you're right Smiley

I just switched over to turbocoin.us as digitalcoinpool was giving me too many rejects.  Turbocoin.us has lower latency for me and is stratum so that should help with the rejects.

-tb-

Also couldn't get below 25%, maybe i'll just gambool thru the night and solo it Smiley

Stratum P2Pool is on:

crypto-coins.de:8907

As usual for P2Pool, just Point your miners on the above adress using your Wallett Adress as Username and a random passwort

Example:

Code:
cgminer.exe --scrypt -u DHUqdchzCGUYKABsv3nLkVwJiL93YoNpP2 -p hsdrtu89dfgdhfg8 -o crypto-coins.de:8907

See stats at www.crypto-coins.de:8907

Pool Fee ist 1 %

Had to rstart the server, because we had ap little problem with dead shares..... Now everything is working fine again Smiley

I mined there for 24h straight and got ~half of est, my friend mined for ~14h and also got about half, not good for me. Long time no more shares and nothing happening.

Please keep redistributing to other pools, thank you. Try to keep each pool at 100 mh/s at this stage.

Hey man!

A short Server restart shouldn't be bad, because normaly your Miners automatically reconnect as soon as the server is up again.

You are right. Today i had to took the server down for a few hours for the first time to fix a major problem. I hope this won't happen again.

As an excuse, I sent you a few DGC to your Wallet Wink

For all of those who want a working p2pool configuration I have made a fork here : https://github.com/hakabane/p2pool-altcoins.git

This is the one I am using at http://pool.bounceme.net:24397

By using this one you will be able to connect your node to mine (thought the bootstrap address).
I also defined new network id for digitalcoin p2pool network.
Please tell me if you want me to add your node to the bootstrap list.

I think it will be good if all the digitalcoin p2pool nodes use the same codebase.

Just use it with -net digital.

Thank you so much! Working perfectly Smiley

Haha just noticed this....I have no idea who digi.cryptcoins.net is, but has nothing to do with me or scryptmining.com Smiley

Hopefully he has better luck than I have at running his pool though! Sad

I've been using http://next.afraid.org:8119/static/ with great success, fast and reliable.

This one:  http://next.afraid.org:8119/static/  works well in my case. It has a high bandwidth too.

Did you try forwarding port 7999?

The way p2pool works is that miners submit solutions to a less difficult block chain, 10 second targets, maintained by the pool.  20% or so orphan rates are not uncommon since many miners are submitting solutions simultaneously.  Some "crowding out" of small miners may still occur but is much less common than if you were solo mining.

When the pool solution is a solution to the main digitalcoin network, miners are paid out proportionally based on the number of blocks they found in the less difficult chain over the past few hours.  Hence, payouts are essentially PPLNS based on the last few hours and how many lesser difficulty blocks your miner solved.

If you got the "graphs" area on the pool and search for your user, you can see how many solutions you submitted that were accepted

If you have set your difficulty lower than the pool using the + option after your username, the pool will accept your shares but that does not necessarily mean you found a solution.

That seems to be bothering some users.  If that is the case, you can always omit the + option and let the network give you shares at the full difficulty.  The issue then will be that you may not get a valid solution submitted fast enough to beat out other miners.  The + option gives you more of a fighting chance but, again, won't guarantee you have found a solution.

So, long story short, it is not at all unusual to see payments for hours based on a solution you submitted awhile ago and then have payments stop until you find another one.

Even though difficulty on the pool block chain is lower, there is still going to be variance
