I just enabled MN following the guide from the link in the first post. My MN IP shows up in All Masternodes tab as ENABLED but it does not show up in My Masternodes tab for some reason. Is this normal or there is something wrong with the config?

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

You have to add it to the masternode config file NAME IP:PORT masternode_genkey TXID NAME = anything masternode_genkey = "genkey" in console TXID = "masternode outputs" in console # Masternode config file # Format: alias IP:port masternodeprivkey collateral_output_txid collateral_output_index # Example: mn1 127.0.0.2:19999 93HaYBVUCYjEMeeH1Y4sBGLALQZE1Yc1K64xiqgX37tGBDQL8Xg 2bcd3c84c84f87eaa86e4e56834c92927a07f9e18718810b92e0d0324456a67c 0

It's not in the guide. So, after I add those lines, should I restart? If, so, my time online till that point is wasted and reward accruing will star over again? Thanks.

Newcomer hre, interested in vivo. It's at the top of the masternode ROI charts, and seems to have a supportive community, which is good. Problem though: what does it *do* besides being just another masternode coin?
|
Make passive income here.. don't let the name fool you, do your own research and find out for yourself. it's called exitscam, but it's actually legit. Looks similar to a ponzi, but it's not. And it's perfectly legal, not a registered security, as the "dividends" are payouts, not actual dividends. Check it out at http://exitscam.me/luminium

Outside of the masternodes Vivo has the PrivateSend feature which uses obfuscation to do private transactions. There may be more in the future but that's as far as I know.

BUYER BEWARE
This is a classic ponzi scheme. There is no real use for this coin so the only buyers are people who are wanting to run a master node. When there are too many master nodes and ROI goes down to nothing there will be no more buyers left for this coin and everybody will be stuck and unable to sell. The only people who are making anything are the ones that got in early and are selling into the people buying master nodes. You have been warned. caveat emptor

This can be true, however, there's already over 80% of coins staked to run masternodes, so there just is not enough coins in circulation to pull off a scheme like you are describing. Maybe if there were 20% of coins staked, then yes. The way it is right now, you are safe in running masternode(s) and keep mining the coins, it will take a while before there's any real danger of this coin tanking. One way it can tank that's highly unlikely (since 80% of coins are staked...), is if the majority of people with masternodes (those making up the aforementioned 80%), sell off their coins. Also keep in mind, this coin is only over a month old. Cheers...

could someone provide further details about masternoding on a vps?
I feel it is not just right to store private keys on a vps. Does the rewards get sent to the masternode address? how to withdraw them? and could someone withdraw the initial 1000 coins using the masternode private key as it is already stored there?
The guide is very helpful to the point of setting up the node but I need to know what happens next.
Thanks!

You are asking a general question about masternodes, try google, it has all the answers.

well, have read about DASH masternodes just now and pretty much got the idea.
The problem is in the guide on the website itself. It created the wallet on the VPS and this is absolutely wrong using common sense. After reading about Dash masternodes, I got the idea you could create your secure wallet first and then get the masternode address, deposit the funds there, and get the masternode private key which you can use later to run the masternode on the VPS without exposing your wallet private keys.
I am not sure if this is the same case here but would love to know!
Cheers
