Okay. Here's the bug detail: your network contains the 72 millions premine from the original Ethereum blockchain. You can confirm the bug in many ways.

Look into the Ethereum premine addresses. For example, the EthDev premine address 0x5abfec25f74cd88437631a7731906932776356f9 which contains 12 million coins on both blockchain.

EGEM: https://explorer.egem.io/addr/0x5abfec25f74cd88437631a7731906932776356f9
PIRL: https://poseidon.pirl.io/explorer/address/0x5abfec25f74cd88437631a7731906932776356f9/

Now have fun.

Definitely interesting at the very least since on their website they claim to be "built on an entirely new chain".

Assuming PIRL is built on an early version of ETH (or perhaps the ETH genesis?), isn't this a windfall for the ETH developers who hold the private keys for these addresses?

This issue needs to be publicly addressed by the dev team.

So the no premine, ASIC resistant coin has a premine and is welcoming ASICs. Sold all my PIRL.

Someone make an ETH like coin with masternodes, attempt at some privacy features, and better ASIC resistance.

that's joke.... look what has he written

"While I no longer have a Bitcointalk forum account, I will glady address these issues on twitter"

so we have official thread where Public Relation Manager of Pirl has no access!!!! Shocked Shocked Shocked

ok there's some info from twitter:

"There was a bug discovered that contained an Ethereum premine that affected $PIRL since Pirl has it's genesis with the Eth chain. The Pirl Devs have already created a softfork fix that will reset the balance of the premine address to 0."

this could get firs issue done but someone with it knowledge should keep an eye on it.....

about ASICs:

"There is absolutley ZERO verifiable proof that the ethash ASICs are even real. The Pirl Team doesn't make it policy to comment on wild speculation and therefore we have nothing to say about an algo change AT THIS TIME"

second one isn't so obvious especialy in comparison with PIRL's website..... but we'll see

below you have whole tweets

hy !

so first of all.....the 12 or 11 million pirl in that wallet are so real like a dinosaur.
its an artifact and i am (and i think most of the pirl community will agree) pretty sure about this, that this issue will be soon history.
there were some troll users which called it premine.....at this point i have to say.....pirl had no premine and these 11 million coins are an artifact comming from another issue.
even egem got it.....so its unfair to call it premine or assume that there was a premine.
furthermore there is no movement on that wallet and there will not be a movement.

i know pirl since the beginning and they never let the community down.
they are testing a solution at the moment and i am pretty sure that they will be sucessful.

so relax people and just visit their discord and speak to them.

for the asic topic.
i saw this question now multiple times in different chats, forums and so on.
from my point of view i totally support the statements of the pirl staff.
as long as there are not buyable, fully functional and reliable "asic" miners  on the market for eth coins its a rumour.
these ongoing speculations are really annoying.

it's very important that they are working on it....

but don't be surprised if suddenly came out news that there is "hidden account" (i called this that way not because i think so, but someone could) which have more coins than whole official circulating supply is, both hodler and miner become suspicious... It could have dramatic influence on coin's price and noone likes to loose his money....

and the fact, there is no movement on that wallet yet means nothing....

anyway let's hope the prommised softfork will close this issue and there be no point to talk about it anymore...

for the record i'm not troll I'm hodler and miner of this coin and that's why clear info is important to me
so go go devs!!!!

Maybe I jumped the gun too quick, but I've seen enough in crypto that anything stinks I cash out first and ask questions later.

This might not have been an intentional premine, a mistake from original ETH genesis block. it's still a huge problem if 12 million coins are out there with the original ETH developers having the same key.

Greetings from EGEM. I made the devs aware as soon as that person announced on our thread. I have confidence in the team here in Pirl and they are correcting the issue.

i will not judge about people that are firstly sorrowed about that.
but the pirl team never gave me any reason not to trust them.

that there is this account is no reason to panic.
i even dont think that anyone has access to it.
but i can understand you.

on the other hand you should trust the devs that they will solve that.

i even dont think that anyone has access to it.

Any Ethereum key is a valid PIRL key with the same address. Whoever had access to original ETH premine could access this address right now.

yeah and its a old artifact out of eth time.
and as far as i know its a shared wallet, so you have to get the people together and they must have their passes ready and they have to do it all together and  and and.........so about what we are discussing here.

there will be a solution for it and i am pretty sure very soon.
there was no movement on that wallet since crypto ages and i dont think there will be a movement.

its a if if if if if if if if if game.

relax

Information clears uncertainty and helps people relax. Communications from devs would help. Info like the original ETH key being shared, like multisig?

If the ETH premine key was shared like multisig that lowers the risk to PIRL.

This is still a huge problem with, as far as I can tell 12 million PIRL circulating supply and 12 million at minimum PIRL waiting to be sold or used to attack the coin.

I can relax, because like I said I sold all my Pirl. My risk now is only lost opportunity cost because I'm still mining it when I could mine something else.

My only personal interest now is simply because I liked the ideas of this coin.

Solution? When at least half supply is waiting to be sold or used to attack coin in a masternode system? Only solution I could see is start over or increase block reward like 100 to 1000x to inflate away the premine.

This is a huge problem. But what do I know. I seem to be the only one following this thread and the market doesn't seem to care, yet. Coins up ~2% according to coinmarketcap.com.

I'm not prof. it that area but the guy who pointed it out was telling about 72 milions (there is 12 milion on one account)  anyone with more knowledge should speak about it...
