I would like to disagree on this one. Bitcoin is not illegal in every country that is in Asia, and as far as I know it is not illegal but their government takes control on how will their people access the internet and how it would affect their economy.

It is not illegal in every Asian country, but in most of the countries the legal status of Bitcoin is not defined. Overall, the position of the governments remain negative, with notable exceptions from Japan and Singapore (perhaps South Korea as well). May be in the future, the governments will realize that regulation is the only way to move forward.
Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Because bitcoin has no tax. So other government in asia planning to control those bitcoin holder by declaring or must be registered as a bitcoin holder by registering who used bitcoin government probably can control those holder and they can put tax on it.

Bitcoin Legal issue varies on Which country you are on because most of the asian country has their own central bank that regulates the currency on their country. Like in the Philippines Where BSP (Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas) issue a statement about the risk of bitcoin trading and some of the digital currency is being legal and cryptocurrency exchanges are being regulated by BSP.

This has happened so many times exactly the same MO. PBOC says " we ban bitcoin" weak hands sell, they buy up cheap coins. Then they say " jk we no ban Bitcoin!" And then the price goes back up.

Why they never ban mining in China? Think about that.

Why they never ban mining in China? Think about that.

They could just eliminate electricity subsidies for miners (or anyone using more than a certain amount unless are granted entitlements). Which would probably lead to decentralized mining in China. Which presumably would be a good thing. But someone paying true market price would also gain a measure of independence from the government. Which cannot be allowed. Bitcoins also give a measure of independence from government. So . . . CHINA BAN BITCOIN! Which leads to decentralized mining. Which leads China to accept bitcoin. For awhile. Then . . . CHINA BAN BITCOIN!

A hard crash like this doesn't seems like something that the market would recover from in a week or two. People should be prepared and wait for a better entry point.
Caixin is a legitimate news site. People should seriously consider the possibility that this might not be fake news. The market might go down much further. Remember not to bite more than you can chew.
Bitcoin can't be killed. But in the short term there are huge waves that could swallow you whole. Take care guys.

Seriously. My favorite part about this video is that it's been posted to /r/bitcoin 7 times since 2014.

It's nuts what some news from one fucking website can do to bitcoin. Just shows you how we are still in the infancy and it's still a great time to buy! I assume the more we grow and the more mature it is, we will only trust news like this if it is reported world wide. It's clear someone was trying to initiate a major crash. Didn't go so well did it?

Yeah some countries do not legalized it, I respect their laws but its just too selfish for government to control everything. I believe theres a future in crypto and a lot of people nowadays are depending on it, it will also help economic growth thru remittances. I just don't understand some political people why they don't allow innovation, maybe they're afraid of something. Only if they just realize the importance of cryptocurrencies nowadays.

yes, some countries don't want to legalized it but at the same time they didn't considered it illegal. Some countries are interested but don't have enough time for btc, they have many problems that needs to prioritize. Some are also afraid of studying btc because of the thinking that they will not get any profit from it.

I think, because the government is too worried when bitcoin is used as money laundering, terrorist financing, drug deals and other crimes. I think it is normal that the government is worried about it. And maybe for that reason, bitcoin is illegal in asia.

All over the world uses bitcoin but most countries in Asia don't use it. In my opinion, the inactivity is the main cause of it. It is an electronic data and it changes it's valued very quickly and it could become something of no value if none desired it.
Most of the authority of Asian country don't know what is bitcoin and how to use it, that's a major problem too. Again there is no compromise between local bank and bitcoin agent. Bitcoin doesn't consider a currency and can't use for payments, and is not considered legal tender like money and doesn't control by any bank.
