Hello!,

I would like to mine through web browser. This is awesome!

This is my PC specs:
Windows 10 Pro x64
Intel Core i7 960 @ 3.20Ghz (I can overclock)
6GB of Ram
AMD Radeon HD 6670
Google Chrome

Phone:
Galaxy S7 Edge
Android 7.0
Google Chrome

Let me know what you think.

Thanks!

Hi fray26, those both look good for mining!

I have a laptop and I'm wondering if it would be enough to handle the mining of Hadron:

Intel i7 6700HQ
16GB
Geforce GTX 960M
512GB Samsung Pro 950

The browsers I have set up are Opera, Firefox, Chrome and Edge.  Have there been benchmarks showing that one browser can mine potentially faster than the other ones?  Thanks!

Yes CryptoAllDay, your laptop can mine just fine. For browsers, you'll get better performance with any of the first 3 you've listed.

very interesting project, mining on cell phones is certainly good, but the batteries will not be enough for a day at such loads

And it will quickly make the phone overheating because the speed of the processor generated, of course it will make the phone often die suddenly.

Mining in your browser?

I will readup on the specs the moment I get time. Not a new idea but does seem like a nice project.

BTW - how does one mine with GPU?

#crysx

Sooo ...

No information about GPU mining?

#crysx

For me it looked like you want to know how to mine with gpu. For me ut used gpu automaticly with the browser mining Smiley it does consume a decent amount of ram aswell, much less now than the beginning of alpha though. They are making it better step by step. Dont see asic having much chance on this aswell, but im not a tech guru.

Actualy it scales quite good i think . No heat issues so far with my Sony xzs. Maybe i just did not run it long enough but dont think so.
Also they are continiously improving the miner Smiley

What and interesting project you have here! I'd love to give it a shot. My specs are below.

iPhone 6S+ Safari or Chrome

iPhone 5S Safari or Chrome

i5-2400 @ 3.10Ghz x4  (two devices like this)
Windows 10 Pro
using Chrome, but can use whatever browser.
Basic Intel video chipset (onboard)
8 gigs or ram
Device is an HP 8200

2 laptops with i7-3770 @ 3.4 x 4
Windows 10 Pro
using Chrome, but can use whatever browser.
Basic Intel video chipset (onboard)
8Gigs of ram
HP Elitebook 2470's

Thanks!

*edit, I also have a few newer HP Tablets, both are i7's of some sort and both have 8GB RAM. I can use only one or two if you'd like during alpha, but I'm able to bring up 4 or 5 devices Smiley Just let me know so I don't break any rules! The last thing I want to do is spin up 10 devices and get booted  Grin. With that said, I'm gonna go read the FAQ again Smiley

Unfortunately TheMadMason, your iPhone 5 will not work for mining. But all of your other devices certainly will! We do limit the number of total tabs your account can mine with. (The number depends on your Echelon level.) Don't worry though: the mining page will tell you when you've hit your limit.

Very interested in mining

I will readup on the specs the moment I get time. Not a new idea but does seem like a nice project.

#crysx

Sooo ...

No information about GPU mining?

#crysx

Hi chrysophylax. Our mining algos will preferentially use whatever hardware your system has that produces the best results. Usually that is the system GPU. But some of our Alpha Mining testers are mining with their CPUs.

Thanks for the general info.

This tells me VERY little about what I require to mine though. Does this mean that we HAVE TO have a browser open? If so, then this will be utterly useless to us via a headless non-GUI Linux miner based on Fedora 27 x64.

The question I was aiming at is simply, what is necessary to mine via this sort of setup? Do you have an Algo we can base a miner on if you have none yourself?

Thanks.

We can work on a GPU miner implementation, but we need to know what Algorithm this mining system uses, and what the specs are.

That's correct: in the current implementation, mining does require an open browser window. So a no-GUI rig would not be able to mine, as things stand now. But we are only in early Alpha. As the project progresses, we will release additional algo info / support to enable GPU mining development without a browser.
