If you are still optimistic with the coin you are supporting then just sleep on it.
We tend to make bad decisions while we are awake and monitoring the price wave.
There will always be a fall but if you did a research with your coin then you should knew it could resist and be back to its price.

I think the best thing to do is to buy some and hope for its price to pump up,
If you already have some just hold it and wait for your aiming price.

I'm interested in some ideas about what to do when prices are falling.

a. If you are not a day trader and did panic sell, you better leave this since it's not for you. Cryptos fluctuate a lot and your health is more important than some extra bucks.

I did it once, then I made a huge 2x profit. So I'd say it's ok. :-D

I believe on coins i invested in so normally, i just wait for my target price to meet and avoid panic selling even if you have to wait for a few months.

although waiting for a few months might be a little stressfull for some people, i guess you just have to control your emotions and establish a good

risk management every trades you make. it'll be hard at first but once you get the gist of it, the longer you're there, the easier it gets compared

to when you started.

Hello. I have a folio of BTC, ETH, NEO and some alts. I've been watching at Bitcoin since 2015 but bought only at this summer (and the last move was quite bad, I bought some BTC for $4600). I try to study, watch vids, read forum and twitters. Chris Dunn has a vid on the topic but nothing really specific. I'm interested in some ideas about what to do when prices are falling.  Sell alts and hold bitcoin? Short? (and if yes, so the next question is how to learn how to short?).

Well there are multiple answers to this question. I have a few questions for you. Did you invest more than you can afford to lose? What was your main motive behind this purchase? Were you looking for quick profit? Did you buy bitcoins as an investment only? Did you plan to hodl your bitcoins? And so on.

The question you are asking is too vague. If i had invested just for quick profits, i would sell my btc right now and take the loss, cuz the prices may stay below $4000 for awhile now. Same is the scenario if i had invested more than i can afford to lose. But if you invested to hodl for 5-6 year then you may not do anything right now just let btc sit and ride this out.

If you are following Bitcoin since 2015 then I hope you are aware of the critical volatility in the price and if you considering long term gains then you shouldn't worry about current price fall. Unfortunately, you made a move when the price was going up and it was not so organic growth in my opinion and now price is settling down at its real level for the period. However, do not sell your holding at this level even if you are in the loss because we will reach $5K level again with organic growth within next few months. If possible then try to buy further Bitcoins to reduce the  average purchase price.

P.S - This is my personal opinion and might be completely wrong, please do your own research before taking any investment decision.

If you believe in bitcoins, than it is good to buy when prices are low (like now). It is always a speculation, but I think prices will go up soon  Smiley
But as always, never invest money that you can not afford to lose.

Well let me tell you  what I do. See CoinMarketCap, watch all reds, heart start pumping fast, close CoinMarketCap, take deep breath and forget about my money for a while!
There is no fun selling at low (even if dollars price is high while btc is low). If you are following market from 2015, you could easily recognize that Bitcoin and alts have very fast bullish-bearish swap time.
So $4600 isn't a bad move at all. Be patient and you soon will be dancing for your move. Cheesy

Ya true. Not only keep the bitcoin longer gives more profit. But also sell at good prices will give you good return for Your investment. If you are looking for short term profit means, this is the right time. I think tomorrow the price may drop to 4000$.So use this to inverse on bitcoin and you will get good profit soon.

Depending on the situation, we will have different methods to solve, if you are holding a certain altcoin and the price drops, you need to analyze the information then determine the cut loss or continue to hold. If the price of bitcoin and the price of altcoin decrease, you should use bitcoin to buy potential altcoin to get the best profit or turn off the computer then go to sleep and wait for the price to rise again, do not worry too much when bitcoin drops, sooner or later it will be strongly pumped

in this case the alternative way to become productive is not to panic instead buy a lot of coin because the possibility to rise is always there.coin price is really not stable everybody can become profitable if we should properly observe the movement of the market.

yes i agree sometimes people is always afraid of the unknown.even if a coin decreases a small amount we should not be panic on it because i think theres nothing to be afraid off i believe falling of the  price is a great opportunity to buy and sell it if it will comeback to the normal price or maybe  above the normal price.

When the price dump most traders grab the opportunity to buy more at a lowest price. Yes true we should not panic on the downtrend of the market, instead buy back at the cheap price. Because eventually the value will recover and you can earn profit on doing so.

Neo is taking a bit due to the news coming out of China. It's a strange one, dumping it though is not the answer. With bitcoin, ignore the price and hold your nerve. Eth I'll trade for some bitcoin.

Just keep the well known cryptos. Be careful with new coins and research their background. These days nearly all cryptocurrencies went down because of China news. But I keep them and watch, what will happen in the next days.

Yes, you always need to switch to your own prefferences, for example, if you know that a big dump is approaching then you must convert all your altcoins/bitcoins to tether, and then re-buy them when the price is low.
You will make a good profit by doing that, i made that when bitcoin dropped from $3000 to $2000.. it is so risky to do that just because the market is so volatile, but you only have to do it when you are 100% sure about that.

The question is; why didn't sold when it was $5000?
The idea of Trading is buy at low price and sell at higher price, for altcoins may takes weeks but it takes more time for bitcoin, better to hold it for months or years if you are not desperate need for money, except if you want to buy and sell in short term which that's why I'm asking you the first question. Do not sell when prices are falling, it's discount time, good time to buy more coins obviously. Keep holding.

Just keep the well known cryptos. Be careful with new coins and research their background. These days nearly all cryptocurrencies went down because of China news. But I keep them and watch, what will happen in the next days.
Is not every alt coin were created to scam people. Moreover, almost every individual in the cryptocurrency world knows the coin that are here to stay through the info of their creator or inventor. But with the thing that happen in China I think they were trying to make the genuine coin stay in other to reassure the investor that their investment is in safe hand.
Nevertheless, this is the best chance to buy some cheap coin and make a good profit.

What should be done? I think when the price fell to analyze market and hope the price bitcoin back up because if the price goes up, the price of the bitcoin coin others will follow
in this case the alternative way to become productive is not to panic instead buy a lot of coin because the possibility to rise is always there.coin price is really not stable everybody can become profitable if we should properly observe the movement of the market.
yes i agree sometimes people is always afraid of the unknown.even if a coin decreases a small amount we should not be panic on it because i think theres nothing to be afraid off i believe falling of the  price is a great opportunity to buy and sell it if it will comeback to the normal price or maybe  above the normal price.
When the price dump most traders grab the opportunity to buy more at a lowest price. Yes true we should not panic on the downtrend of the market, instead buy back at the cheap price. Because eventually the value will recover and you can earn profit on doing so.

That will be the one who came first to their mind and maybe same as yours since this event is one of the profitable things to do when the coins are been bargain, especially with bitcoins who's have 100% potential and rather I will buy some of it maybe now since the current price of btc is so down unlike those past days that btc are almost reached to its 5k$ price.
