Personally, I do not feel comfortable mining this coin. My first concern was all of the spelling/grammar errors in the OP - things like: "brightess future" and "speed for piece of mind". I was surprised to see it listed on Cryptopia, but it is. I clicked on "Coin Info" and got the following information: FastCoin InformationAlgorithm: Scrypt Network: POW Block Time: 12 Block Reward: 0.00000000 Difficulty Retarget: 5 Total Coins: 165888000.00000000 Annual POS Rate: 0% Minimum Stake Age: N/A Maximum Stake Age: N/A With ZERO block rewards & 0% PoS rewards, I decided to look for a different altcoin! lol

It's quite uhhm, off to add a coin to an exchange that has lost developments and updates and possibly, a backing from its community. How would you think the coin perform in terms of volume when there is no enough reason for people to support it via trading? :/ There is no any critical bug or issue with Fastcoin. Don't worry, update will be some later. Thank you Lasergun, You are correct, the Coin has been working for over 4 years now, and will continue to work for many years to come. A period of "Radio Silence" by the core development team was decided as the fate of Bitcoin was somewhat questionable last year when it's price approached the $250 range. Now that Bitcoin and several other coins such as Ethereum have been widely accepted as plausible solutions by the mainstream, FastCoin will make more of an impression on the markets as speed of transaction become a larger issue. /C

Where the developer is missing? Who is involved in the development of the coin? The coin is quite old ... Thank you Klarki, Yes FastCoin is getting close to 4 years old now, it has past the test of time. No different then Bitcoin in terms of the fermentation process it took for that coin to achieve wide acceptance. We look forward to a very bright future with this coin in the years ahead. /C

LOL, its going to take a lot more than a few skeptical engineers and techs to kill this coin RD ;-) FastCoin not only can sprint, but it can run the Ultra Marathon! /C

Is this coin still the fastest?
In the Freely traded, fairly released Crypto world YES. Some argue it is also the most secure as it has the deepest blockchain of any Cryptocurrency. /C

The latest fastcoin blockchain snapshot in 7z archive (for smaller size): FST blockchain. You will need to download all parts of the archive in the folder to unpack it. Recently updated.

Can you explain this?
Total coins: 165,888,000
Coin Supply (FST) 172915439.2296121
The same amount I see at the explorer page. The explorer shows last block 8656223 (17th Dec 2016 07:49:30) with Confirmations: 250387. The overmined coins are exactly mined, not rewards for the block TX fee.

Amazing resilience, I remember this one for having a ton of orphans whenever I tried to mine it and latency was an issue as others closer to a node got the blocks. I let my switching pool handle the actual handling of the blocks luckily, I'd be happy to learn of its usefulness but who is needing to use such quick blocks. Dont casinos keep internal registers for transactions.
I do wonder if the whole world switched to crypto coins for everything surely fast coins would be more needed. I think blk at 60 seconds and enrg at 150 seconds both POS are fast enough as it is and for the light commerce 1 confirmation is enough to go on

FST have another big problem, pchMessageStart[4] = { 0xfb, 0xc0, 0xb6, 0xdb } the same as Digitalcoinv3 It give spam traffic, spam CPU and maybe affect to Explorer Coin Supply.

Thx for the reply. I can swear I've read that page just 1-2 days ago, in every single window and it DID NOT report that number, but a far lower one. Some in the 120 Mils or so. I was checking number because I was looking for my ranking .... .... on the richlist. Simply said, my 436144.985 FST with fodHpqVWfZdB9FgrGfAXbbkF2Bd3FjsR4F address doesn't show. So I can conclude the page has some issue.

I do wonder if the whole world switched to crypto coins for everything surely fast coins would be more needed. Technically, if the network is large enough you can be fairly confident a transaction is valid after a relatively short period of time - seconds - even if it hasn't yet been incorporated into a block. If someone tries to send two overlapping transactions (double spend) some nodes will accept the first, and some will accept the second; if they all agree, then it's highly likely the transaction will be incorporated into a block. From memory the trick is for the recipient to run multiple nodes, so that they can quickly catch any disagreement. In practice this probably wouldn't work for an altcoin, unless it had thousands of nodes online...

Thanks for your Inquisition fastcoin-ok, I would tend to agree with your conclusions that the page or the methods used to calculate the values has some issues. You can further validate the fact the FastCoin hard cap is set in the code here on Github for all to see (Line 57)... https://github.com/fastcoinproject/fastcoin/blob/471c64fbde3cb483af3ae81cf16d0463bd47839f/src/main.h/C
