Ya should eventually just say eBTC and remove ebtc cold from ether delta.

Yes it should. But people can't blame ebtc. Even on Etherdelta it clearly says:

"Make sure EBTCOLD is the token you actually want to trade. Multiple tokens can share the same name."

Hi Dev, It would be nice if you could get in touch with EtherDelta and have them remove eBTCOLD from the coin list so
that new investors don't get confused. It would be nice if the list had only eBTCNEW.

                         Smiley
I think it will be very difficult, because I see a lot of people who still hold also sell and buy the coins eBTCOLD on etherdelta.

It's not difficult. People need to read and inform themselves BEFORE they make any investment. You can't fix stupid.

I mean, cash it in and get $20.. I doubt you'll see it rebound as the old one is just a shit coin.
Or it might be worth contacting a dev or mod and seeing if they're gonna try to do anything if you put it back in your wallet. Plenty of coins that were left in ED, so not sure if they'll ever airdrop some to people who can prove they have them back in their wallet. I wouldn't count on it though.

Not happening.

"The eBTC Foundation team has no intention to pursue any kind of development on these old eBTC tokens and we are advising the community to keep them as a memorabilia. They will be of no value, and hence any kind of trading with the OLD eBTC tokens should be stopped immediately."

https://www.reddit.com/r/eBTC/comments/79ttzz/old_ebtc_token_what_should_we_do_with_it/

Idiots keep buying and selling the old ebtc. Incredible. Can't take a few minutes to read and educate themselves on an investment before throwing money away. smh

My new EBTC are not in MEW.  I followed all instructions and had old ones on MEW as of about a week ago.  I added the new contact address to add a custom coin and it shows me 0 EBTC.  What did I go wrong?

CoinMarketCap updated EBTC. Good new!

Anyone know if they plan on changing the ED or CMC token from "EBTCNEW" back to just plain "EBTC"? Should help with branding, especially with the only place you can trade the old coin listing it as EBTCOLD.

Couldn't find the answer to this anywhere.

You know that ED received more than 2 million from the new eBTC, and this amount was not passed on to its true owners, I imagine that the holders of the private key of this address "0x8d12a197cb00d4747a1fe03395095ce2a5cc6819" is gradually pouring in to make some money, instead of distributing to its owners masters, this is just a guess and not a prosecution.

The one that had the old eBTC in ED during the swap, look for the ED exchange administrators and demand from them your new eBTCs and not from the eBTC developers.

There are only 13.5M eBTCNEW in circulation, 8M eBTCOLD weren't in a proper wallet at swap time yesterday and it took them out of circulation. A few pages back, someone did an audit confirming this. I feel bad for those people but it gives us literal rocket fuel to go to the moon!
Man where did you get the 13.5M number, I can't find it.would you give me a link. Thanks.

@mayssam,

That 13.5MM number comes from the time I first audited at 17:48pm UTC.

You can see my post here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2210565.msg23813326#msg23813326

I just performed a new audit at 21:22PM UTC and now the number is 13,243,337.15 EBTC
which means that there have been some corrections but still the number is the 13MM mark.

Remember, if you didn't have your EBTC in your ETH wallet of which you hold the private key too, not an exchange, that means your EBTC quantity that you used to have is burned and is apart of the EBTCOLD.  You can never get those back unless you buy them on the new exchange.

As of right now, there are 7MM EBTC whom have yet to either been swapped due to this probably.  I say 7MM because I think 500k to 1MM goes to the EBTC team for continuing development, marketing, and other business related expenses.

So that means the exchanges themselves now hold the 7MM EBTC if they decide to claim them.

Its not hard to keep track of it.
If you want to also perform your own audit just use the following URL:

https://etherscan.io/token/0xeb7c20027172e5d143fb030d50f91cece2d1485d

And scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Download CSV"

From there just open it in Excel or Google SPreadsheet and sum up the Quantity!!!

Peace Out!!!

Noyce, Didn't know how to look up that information, I learn something new everyday.

Be sure to check the pm I sent you.

How to contact dev team or moderator, please?

I'm in the same predicament! My MEW shows the old ones, valued at .011 each and falling.  The new ones didn't make it in to my wallet.

However, maybe the swap isn't over though.  In Ethplorer.io I'm seeing hundreds of new transactions being made by EBTC.

They had some issues with the swap, so the devs told me. They hope to have all the issues solved in 24 hours.

You have to contact @OPeculiar on telegram. Tell him the issue and your public address, as long as you had your tokens in your MEW before the deadline you will get your new tokens.
