Guns - Why do we need them?

We are living the most peaceful times in human history, yet there are people killed by the dozens every day. Guns and weapons are meant to "protect" but are used as means to "eradicate". Why do we need guns? What do you think?

I do not agree with you ideas what you mean . It pretty obvious that we are living  the era in which horrible blood baths are occuring. Civilian people do not need to have gun in their house . According to me,  only law-enforcement officers should have gun to protect society.

Well the obvious reason for most of us would be for protection. Particularly for those people who live in dangerous neighborhoods. As for the military and police officers, they need guns to fight terrorism. Unfortunately, can't really talk peace with terrorists while they're shooting at you.

Why we need these, these days there are many crimes such as murder and burglary and many more. Thats's why we need this to protect ourselves, guns have many cause it can lead to a different situation, it can be good or bad it depend to whom who hold it,  and who ever hold it knows the responsibility.

In my country, using gun is banned because government cares for the safety of residents. Acts of violating the regulations on management of the use of weapons, explosives, support tools, assorted fireworks and dangerous toys are banned. However, someday there are some criminals use gun in order to rob or fight each other. I am so scared it because it is easily harm to lamentable residents. This is just opinion from my country, hope it do not involve with other places or countries.

Do we really need it, often because it has a person? for his personal safety and for ensuring that he and his family are safe. Thieves often use it, but the people's comments about it are so dangerous that it should be frightened. Then the people who have it have been used correctly, not for their enjoyment or gaming or their trip. Hopefully the police will also use it properly and in the right way, not the threat to the people. There are people like that, and policemen like that, let's do their job well and respect their status. The names of the police often breaks because of its members who do not comply with their duty.

why do we need gun? the top reason is protection. for instance, when we are stuck in the middle of the way because of bad guys or thieves, we can exploit the gun to protect us from them. however, the need of gun should be along with the gun control.

If we meet with bad guys, then most likely we will not have a chance to use a gun. It seems to me that protection is a myth. Some people need a gun just to know that they can kill anyone

This Gun control thing has most to do with present day USA. America was a shit-huge piece of land owned by peacock haired natives with names like "star of morning", "Old wolf" living in a primitve tribal society.
In comes the white man bewildered by the open expanse, crazy big bisons, plentiful potatoes and corn. So he starts to build like all good white men do.
But then the Cherokee says "lalala..This land my, not you"
The white man says, "Look Big fella, here take 25 Dollars, I'll buy it"

The cherokee looks bewildered at this little guy offering him some cheque and he gives in just to check it out.

The next day white man comes with the guns and tells him and his clan to bundle themselves to some other place.
The cherokee feels cbeated..Takes out his bow..The white boh takes out his musket..Bang..!!

And this is how the story starts. The Natives come in hordes so the white man gets guns in hordes and are killed in hordes.
Those who are no threat are given disease carrying blankets to save the bullets. There is carnage. A lot of God-fearing white men find this unjust, too much to take, lose there mind and decide to turn the guns against his own brethern. This is where the story reaches its crescendo.

Well then everyone knows it becomes the wild, wild west. The civil war comes. The white man realizes his folly and decides to make a honest and just society. But the seed of sin has been sown long ago.
They fight and kill. The Black men relaizes he's bigger than the white men to be bullied. So he buhs guns too.

So now they all hate each other secretly. So they all now need guns.
