gold is unlikely to give up just because gold has a number of useful properties and is primarily the supply of money, hard currency on those days when you can pay only material money (something valuable)
I think this comparison is totally unjustifiable. Why to compare two different things who even don’t belong to one family. Bitcoins are payment methods while gold is a source of investment and earning money. Bitcoins are not directly treated as gold they are traded and invested but not like gold. Still bitcoins seems to be grateful than gold if we only compare these observations people have made here.

In the last post I literally just explained how someday, just like gold used to back fiat currency - Bitcoin will back all electronic transactions and thus it will be worth millions per Bitcoin. Probably $5,000,000 per Bitcoin I would say.

Lol. 5 million. I think you're a bit of a blue sky thinker. What makes you think it will be bitcoin that underpins all these transactions and not just some other existing crypto currency or one that's not even been thought of yet? Don't get me wrong, I hope you're right be cause we will both be rich but I can't see governments using bitcoin to back their own fiat that they can control or if they did want to move to utilize crypto/blockchain technology they would likely just create their own. It would be much more safer for them to do so.

First we need to define whether Bitcoin is a currency, or an asset. If we consider it as a currency, then I don't think that it is ever going to replace gold. Because gold is not a currency. Even if we consider it as an asset, there is hardly any chance that it can give tough competition to gold. Because gold is a physical asset, while Bitcoin is a digital asset.

i do agree with this....
no matter how hard i am supporting bitcoin.
i still dont think that it will be enough to replace gold.
gold after all is a more secured form of asset as compared to fiat or cryptocurrency.
despite all of the disadvantages gold has it will still be a better investment for me.

As the state of the matters are currently, the talk goes rather around bitcoin cash replacing bitcoin, not bitcoin replacing gold. And it also proves that bitcoin nor bitcoin cash nor any other cryptocurrency will NOT replace physical gold: as they are so interchangable and one can replace the other in a matter of weeks or months, it cannot be considered a reliable store of value for millennia (as gold proved to be)

This has been proven throughout the world and Bitcoin will definitely grow better than gold. I think Bitcoin is more practical and there are more investors looking to buy Bitcoin than gold, if you buy gold you are definitely going against the trend of the world.
In my opinion, bitcoin can never replace gold because gold has existed and known since antiquity until now many people use gold as a means to invest, maybe so on like that. While bitcoin there are very few people in this world who know and use it as a means to make transactions or invest, bitcoin is also not very well known in the community. But the price of bitcoin may exceed the price of gold.

I don't think so. As Gold is just an expensive thing used to create jewelries and such for me and Bitcoin is a kind of crptocurrency. A digital money. They might both have a great value but they are certainly so much different from each other. So I don't think bitcoin will replace gold as gold can't also replace bitcoin in any way.

No bitcoin will never replace gold because bitcoin is a digital currency and its use for those people who want to earn more money and its price going to high that's why everyone can invest in this forum for the best profit but than gold is use as jewelry and its price is not high if any person buy gold as investment so they will never get good profit as bitcoin because gold's price going to increase very slow, so bitcoin is better but they are not replace each other .

In my own opinion bitcoin is better than gold. Since bitcoin provides more security than gold.
Bitcoin assures you that you will achieve all your dreams in life no matter how hard it is; since they dream a successful society which everyone will become benefit.

Can you explain how it provides more security or will achieve all your dreams? Seems like wishful thinking to me, but if you think bitcoin is magically going to make all your dreams come true you might be in for a shock one day and I'd advise you against putting all your eggs on one basket so to speak. It might have bigger potential for making money but bitcoin is far from secure or risk free right now. Just look at how much the value has plunged in the past week or so. Thousands have been wiped off it's value and for all you know thousands more could go within the next few days, so I'd say gold is far more secure and stable that bitcoin is right now. I wouldn't go betting your life on bitcoin that's for sure.

Never, the bitcoin will replace the gold. Gold has value in people's eyes for hundreds of thousands years and around the world. And golden as a cultural value in countries like India, or China => wedding, celebrations etc
Gold is tangible and you can touch it. But one day, when bitcoin will be more stable and when people will be ready, bitcoin will replace fiat. I don’t think i will be alive to see that.

I do not think bitcoin will replace gold. Bitcoin is electronic money, it's future is uncertain. Many countries do not accept bitcoin. It will end whenever. Gold is a precious metal, it appears for a long time and it can not disappear.

I do not think it replaces it, simply everyone has the place in the market that they have. Maybe at some point it will have more demand, but gold has passed centuries and still has value intact

Gold in general is no better. The value of gold is nothing more than a result of a global consensus - at the moment everyone agrees to consider gold a measure of value, simply because this measure is in some form or another necessary. If we assume a utopian situation, that tomorrow everyone agrees that gold is not such a measure, then it will be good only for the production of quality wires and trinkets.
The btc is gaining momentum for exactly the same reason - the global consensus towards the btc is constantly being strengthened. In this case, unlike gold, the cue-ball is not only a measure of value, but also a settlement system, and gold is not a competitor for this parameter.
i think bitcoin cant replace a gold, why? because the gold have many used of it can be a jewelry or something expensive if you were trying to say that the bitcoin replace gold its means gold have no value at all? is a big no

I think it would be a bit difficult if bitcoin replaces gold, because everyone already knows the advantages and disadvantages of gold and not everyone knows bitcoin.

yea the idea of mate is correct it is not possible that bitcoin will replace gold because gold is very old assests and people have more trust on gold as compare to bitcoin and also if we want to sale or buy gold then there is no such high taxes needed while now a days bitcoin transaction taxes are increased very high due to which some people are losing interest in trading now.

It is impossible for bitcoin to replace gold. If you're only basis here is the price then you clearly have the wrong idea. Both bitcoin and gold has their own perks.

If bitcoin will survive after how many decades passed then I can say this will replace the gold but I dont't see the reason that bitcoin can raplace gold, although when it comes to price bitcoin surpass the price of gold but all in all Gold stills the best! It has so many use in many things.
