Why people scam

The topic title is different from what you were explaining in your initial post. But then again, i'll be refering to your topic title which is why people scam. The answer is simple; people who scam other people are the ones who just like to earn money easily and earn money in big amounts. They want an easy win in life without even thinking the risk of the scammed person will be facing. We really can't avood scammers but we can learn ways on how to detect scams and on how to avoid scams.

Getting a job is not possible for everyone, not everyone has family or [friends] to help them and sometimes they will make the bad situations even worse them. If you've ever really needed money and were very desperate, than you probably know that people would let you starve to death rather than give you $5.

It's weird how people won't toss out just a few dollars to help someone in need, yet they'll spend $10000 or more on their pet that has an average life span of under 5 years.

But then again, if you give the person in need money, they'll keep coming back for it. It's a real crap shoot

Not everyone who asks for help cannot do anything with their current situation. Some of them ask for money because they are too lazy to find a job or to work to earn money. The reason why people don't give money when someone is asking for it is because if you give someone money it would just give them an idea that asking for money is an easy way to earn money.

To be honest there are a number of reasons why people scam. Mainly of that they are greedy. People want wealth mainly in the game. What does wealth mean you say? Wealth means to them as fame. So you said that it hurts the other people. The scammers they don't care about the others. What they think is that it's just a game, why does it matter? To me and others like you it does matter but to them their ego take over. So that is my perspective of it. Others add to it if you would like.

I agree,  Probably that are mostly doing of the scammer people they don't want make extra effort for making money. All they want is a easy money that's why they scam people especially for those innocent people that will easily get their trust to some strangers.So my advice to all of you, don't trust easily because scammers will take advantage of your innocence and will make use of it to get some money from you.

It has always been that way and it would always be as long as the world keeps going. It is only left to each individual if they want to be taken advantage of by some petty lazy scumbags or not. Greed, ignorance, carelessness and the inability or laziness to seek for further information is what makes a lot of people to get into the hands or trap of scammers. Scammers know this and they are always ready to take advantage of it.

Agreed! There are number of scammers which are sitting around us and which are continuously planning of grabbing the money which belongs to us. The only motive behind all this is none other than earning of money and that too the money which does not even belong to them. The thing is we ourselves need to be very much careful while dealing because we never know whether we are dealing with the right person or not.

Anyway, the point of view of people who are not donating some money to people who are just begging is that those will become dependant instead of finding a job, a decent one, instead of just opening your hand while sitting in the streets waiting for someone to give them a coin.

Those who deserve to receive donations are those who are facing health issues like cancer but they can't afford it, those who are working hard yet still it is not enough and etc.

I agree to that. We should not keep them just tolerating them to be dependent and we should teach them on how to be independent because after we teach them how to do that then it will be easier for them to make a living without a guidance because they already have their own strategy and mind set that they will be basing for making decisions and grabbing opportunities in the future.

I am confused with this thread as I am unsure if it's about scamming or donating that will lead to dependency. To answer the subject, I guess people scam because they want to earn more in an "easy" way. Scamming is a form of dishonesty, and this is not how transactions are supposed to be done. Scamming will not benefit anyone as you are just making a fool out of yourself and deceiving other people for your sole benefit. How much selfish can that be?

When it comes to giving others financial aid, there is a difference between begging and donating. Donating should not be made mandatory, it is something that should be freely done by your own will, while not expecting something in exchange. Begging on the other hand is asking for money, these are the people who would rather just ask than earn their money. Donating is very different and should not be compared to begging.

I agree to that. Since there are people below the poverty line there are going to be scams and people trying to make money somehow to survive because its just not natural for them to be underprivileged whiles others like themselves fully human are enjoying the better things in life. It's a bad attitude but sometimes they are justified by the inequality in our societies.

When those people joins bitcoin they will not be in trouble because they will become rich when they strive hard in bitcoin. It has the highest exchange rate among all other currency. Ask the children but are 15-16 yrs of old and want to make money fast and easily but no one is giving them a job or they don't want to do it.
Or the people who think scamming people is easy money are doing this.

Getting a new job is not easy for everyone, its really hard to have a job if you already have a pretty dirty background on your records. Living jobless for their past bad doings they are not able to get jobs leaving them to do bad decisions like scamming because they don't have income for their family.

I think the reason is quite simple and clear. People commit fraud because now the facilities to do it are getting easier and more sophisticated. With the internet, people can use fake names and fake identities to create a business that looks tempting when it is a fraud.

With the digital era and the rampant Internet era today, we can deceive the entire society in the world. If you cheat someone inside your country, maybe you can still report to the police and arrest the culprit. But what if the fraud is a little? What if you just cheated and lost $ 10, do you still want to report it? While people who cheat must cheat many people and can profit a lot. While in the other hand, the world-level fraud will be very difficult to catch it. You might be desperate to keep reporting if the numbers are too big. But if the number is small, you must be reluctant to handle it, right?
